Fair play, the way you managed to do this without it seeming mean to Barry, by all joining him in sharing the meals was great. I was a little worried at the start but you have retained the mantle of "wholesome".
This is one of my all time favourite sorted videos. This concept is fantastic. The idea that you were able to call it DOG FOOD and yet it be totally fine for a human to eat, and he didn’t suspect a thing. This is just so smart
Now this is a perfect combo of sponsor & channel - definitely a cut above what we've seen here before, and elsewhere all the bloody time. They all looked amazing, but I do hope there aren't any freaks out there buying only the veggie option for their dogs.
I was shocked to discover that some dogs out there are allergic to meat and needed non-meat options under strict supervision from the vet. If they could eat fish, those dogs were effectively pescatarian.
About 60 years ago my mother, who was an extremely talented cook who regularly served 3 different meals every dinner time, weight watchers, diet diabetic, and hungry teenage boys, and who had 4 children and several cats in the family served us boys a cat food curry with out telling us what it was, we had repeatedly told her that the cat food was perfectly safe, the only reason that she was caught out before we finished the curry was that she had bought/used cat food enriched with bonemeal ! So we found many little rice grain sized pellets of bone in the curry, as far as I remember I finished my portion because as usual the curry was delicious.
Loved watching the wine tasting videos yesterday! Also, ongoing petition for my dream episode, "Buzzed/drunk chefs remote control sober normals." you could bring on some fun guests, pluggy plug plug your gin, and have a good laugh. Keep it up you guys.
I had just sat down to lunch when this popped up, i “pawsd” immediately after the first pun to finish eating. There was no way i was going to be able to eat without choking while laughing as I watched the boys keep a straight face through some premium puns. I’ve been waiting for this since that table conversation and it did not disappoint.
My roommates and I had 4 pets between us. We decided to make pet food from scratch once a month because it was cheaper and healthier than the canned or dry stuff. We’d buy a large pack of mince for 3 weeks, and one large pack of pork liver on the 4th week. Then we’d grate a bunch of carrots, add in minced garlic (to prevent fleas), rice and/or oats and some eggs. My Cuisinart got a workout “sliming” the liver and grating the carrots. Mix well and bake. My brother came over, took a deep breath and said, Smells good! What’s for dinner? not realizing we were baking pet food! Once cooled, we’d portion it out and freeze it. And yes, on occasion when we ran out of sandwich fixings, we’d have a “meatloaf” sandwich! Pet food doesn’t have to be crap.
My understanding is that garlic and onions. petmd backs up up FWIW: Garlic contains thiosulfate, which is toxic to dogs but not humans. Garlic is the most toxic member of the Allium family, which also includes onions, leeks, and chives. Admittedly, small quantities of leftover spaghetti bolognese (cooked trad English way) never hurt any dog we had, but it was just leftovers, and they liked it as 'not dog food' - also liked to steal cat food, which wasn't great.
@@jamesmansion2572 When it comes to garlic the situation is a bit tricker than just a plain 'it's good' or 'it's bad' for the dog. It has its benefits, but can also be toxic (same goes for humans, btw, too much garlic is unhealthy for us too). There are a few breeds which can not eat it at all, but for most breeds a bit (!) of fresh (!) garlic with their food, 3 or 4 times a week, is perfectly save and beneficial to health. Just don't feed it more than 1/2-1 clove per 10kg of body weight, don't give it to puppies (or super small dogs - I personally would do that either, too risky as it's too easy to overdose them), and make sure your dog isn't one of the breeds more susceptible to thiosulfate poisoning.
Not Barry appearing in a video after being AWOL and having an existential crisis when he discovers his michelin-level three course meal is made with dog food 😆 Also, Ben's dog puns 🔥
I work at Butternut box, we have a taste pannel every tuesday, where staff can try the dog food. I will not be attending again until we get sorted style taste pannel 😂
Saw the notification and nearly snorted coffee, Barry and WHAT?!?! Oh my. *after watching* Oh sweet Lord my sides! The anticipation before the reveal and his reaction, to be fair those dishes were amazing looking, I had to keep going back cuz I was laughing so hard.
It was an exemplary episode where Baz was the point where the joke landed, but everyone else was also the subject of the joke. Having high quality dog food with Michelin starred chefs made into an excellent dish, tried by normals on the way of the cooking... and then attacked by everyone at the end, it was just perfect. Baz was both the aim of the joke, and wasn't being left alone as the focus. It was such a good example of friendship and skill.
Ebbers missed a gag, before Bazza sat down i'd have loved him to say 'down boy'. I know that might have given the game away, but it would have amused me.😂

Oh the boys as dog breeds
Ben .....Blueheeler ( full of energy, always herding the others in the right direction)
Kush.... Schipperke ( They are knowen as little captain)
Barry ...Afghan Hound ( They are highly intelligent but are hard to train because they have developed selective hearing. They are also highly sensitive)
Jamie...Mastiff ( they are great family dogs, loyal to their family, as well as gentle and good natured)
Mike....Dachshund ( They have huge personalities, extremely expressive, what they choose to do and like they are very good at.)
Janice....Bichon Frise ( is very cheerful, appreciable, teats every day is the best day ever. Playful and affectionate.
You are one of the best groups of mates I've ever seen.
You could say, you're the Pedigree Chums.
Adsvsskslsbskaldhsj deepcut
Great that everyone joins in and tastes at the end, must’ve helped Barry feel abit better about it
Our girl border collie has Butternut Box and she loves it, we love this collab!!!!!!
Aaaaah that's amazing. What a well fed pooch!
Thank you, James 💛
Heh... I love how they just let Ben's dad jokes drop without comment. His pun game was really on point this time.
"I like dog food" has to be the quote of the year right?
Iconic 🤩
Fair play, the way you managed to do this without it seeming mean to Barry, by all joining him in sharing the meals was great. I was a little worried at the start but you have retained the mantle of "wholesome".
The noise Mike makes when the pastille comes out of the oven… Love it! 💚💚💚
This is one of my all time favourite sorted videos. This concept is fantastic. The idea that you were able to call it DOG FOOD and yet it be totally fine for a human to eat, and he didn’t suspect a thing. This is just so smart
Am I the only one who hit rewind several times on that magnificent swipe Kush did with the spinach and garlic purée? Effortless skill 👏
I love that they all stopped acknowledging Ben's puns but they still chose to keep them all in the edit, magnificent.
BARKING mad to miss this video. Excuse me while I WOOF it down!
You’re barking up the wrong tree. Bone Appétit!
Genius
8:50 That's ok, Ben. I always appreciate a good pun! 😂🤘
The way no one even acknowledged Ben's bad puns lmao
It's OK, he was having a ball!
Lmao, the "Hmm?" from Barry was hilarious. This is some good advertisement for ButternutBox
Loved watching the wine tasting videos yesterday! Also, ongoing petition for my dream episode, "Buzzed/drunk chefs remote control sober normals." you could bring on some fun guests, pluggy plug plug your gin, and have a good laugh. Keep it up you guys.
I’d also be down to see a simple competition between drunk chefs and sober normals
Or, sober chefs instructing drunk normies
@@r.b.rozier9692not gonna happen. It's a liability issue.

They always give Barry a “ruff” time. Let his mind run around without a leash trying to figure out the food theme.
Its amazing how well they describe dog food in such a normal chefy plain way!!!
The look on Jamie's face when Ben said the wine was Dalmation.....
😂
I feel like this could easily have been mean spirited but the boys all handled it super well and with class and respect.
Poor Baz!
Admittedly, those dishes looked amazing.
Well done Kush & Ebbers
Not Barry appearing in a video after being AWOL and having an existential crisis when he discovers his michelin-level three course meal is made with dog food 😆 Also, Ben's dog puns 🔥
I work at Butternut box, we have a taste pannel every tuesday, where staff can try the dog food. I will not be attending again until we get sorted style taste pannel 😂
This was great. Full of puns, great cooking and a GENUINELY CREATIVE AD.
I'd say Barry is a mix of Chihuahua and a Golden Retriever, Nervous energy with that happy-yappy go-lucky feel. .)
having a dog food company sponsor a silly video like this is iconic!!
Barry is going to have a lovely glossy coat after this challenge. 🐶
Barry would be a Jack Russell!
Love to hear it! Thanks for watching :)
Absolutely!
Yes. Yes you can guys. Full faith
Seconded 🤞🏻👌🏻
Ebbers missed a gag, before Bazza sat down i'd have loved him to say 'down boy'. I know that might have given the game away, but it would have amused me.😂
Ben’s pun game is so strong in this video. It’s amazing 😂
New ingredient for mystery cans unlocked
@illu191 *wheeeeze* 🤣🤣🤣 you're evil but I like it
Love it. I buy mystery cans all the time at scratch and dent stores. The show would be a great help for me. Already have a dog food can sitting waiting.
Ben must have had a challenge to see just how many dog puns he could fit into the video. LOL
When Barry couldn't figure out the theme, I just wanted the dog puns to be unleashed till he figured it out. 🤣
The video ended and an ad started playing "who let the dogs out". LOL
Now this is how you do an advert
they should contact their military and do this with MRE packs
Ben was just there for the insane amount of dog puns 😂. I'm here for it.
You need to redo this with a can of the dog food in jelly you get from the supermarket 😂😂
Absolutely brilliant and well done Butternut Box for this amazing collab! ❤
There is a job called dog food taster. They check quality and taste. Some of the premium dog food can be eaten in a pinch
All dog food in Europe is safe for human consumption. Not always tasty to humans but still safe.
There is/was a taste tester for dog food, read an article ages ago about a guy having that job.
Quite amusing that Baz focused his compliments on the dog food really :P
Brits after a few drinks: it is time to make dog food gourmet. Interesting...
The concept for this video was good fun. It's nice to do a lil prank sometimes. Massive respect to the boys for being willing to taste the dog food themselves, rather than only having Barry do it.
9:55 when Mike goes awhhhhhhhh I totally thought they brought a dog in won’t lie ..
Ben has outdone himself with his jokes today! I laughed four times 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Arent Ben and Kush worried about Barry following them around
Paws-itively..... yes, yes they are 🐶
Good to see the Chefs completely unleashed, and Barry looked like he was having a ball.
I want to see more Foods that Made History from you folks! Video 4 requesting this!!
