Happy New Year! We’re gearing up for an exciting 2025 with some amazing videos in the works, but we want your input! What recipes should we try, what snacks should we recreate, and which city restaurants should we explore? as a science teacher and STEM instructor, I absolutely LOVE this video! how you measured the cookies, compared and contrasted two different models, drew from background knowledge and looked for references, made a procedure, continuously experimented and improved, had multiple trials and attempts, changed one variable at a time to see the differences, collected quantitative and qualitative results from the product of your recipe and compared it to the model. I love it so so much!! Sometimes it’s hard for students to see how to apply the scientific method outside of the classroom and the direct science disciplines (biology, chemistry, physics, earth science), but cooking and baking are true and tangible applications. There is so much science that happens in the kitchen, and I always appreciate how you explain and mention the connections in your videos as you bake! I hope to show this to my students; thank you Claire, you always inspire me! ❤

I love this renewed series. From the original one, I remember a very stressed Claire who seemed to love-but also hate-her job a lot. It's so nice to see you doing what you love on your own terms. This version is cozier and calmer, but one thing I do miss from the original series is that the clever editing and visual language made it not only entertaining and interesting but also, very funny to watch!

I don’t think they ever announced it. I scroll every comment section trying to see if people agree !! I don’t want to speculate but I can’t help it as a fellow mama to be!!!

@cupsongsingers apparently she announced it a couple of videos before this, I also found out in the comments :) also congrats to you too (my best friend is also currently pregnant and I'm even excited for that 😄)

Push Pops, rainbow sherbet, Tootsie/Blow Pops, Brookside dark chocolate pomegranate, Cookie Crisp cereal, Snyder’s honey mustard pretzel bites, cheddar Sun Chips, Veggie Straws, Popcorners.
That’s about all I can think of; Claire has hit most every category

When I am baking and butter and sugar are creaming in the stand mixer … I think that scent (and that of browning butter) was why I became a home baker. Yum.

Growing up, Mint Milanos were my absolute favorite cookie. I made a batch of lady fingers last week for my tiramisu. I tempered some chocolate and dipped the leftover cookies. I couldn’t put my finger on what it tasted like… and my husband said it tasted like a Milano, lol! So maybe using a zabaglione while replacing some of the all purpose with cornstarch for a tender crumb.

It’s more cake than cookie, but I think American black and white cookies come pretty close to the texture of Jaffa cakes.

This is a weird comment but I had a similar dark line on the nail of my thumb, 3:42 in the video and my UK GP referred me to a dermatologist to have it checked. Any specialists in the comments? I think maybe worth highlighting so that Claire gets it checked just in case.

I don't think it's weird this could be a sign of melanoma and I am glad someone else pointed out. Hopefully everything is okay but just incase

Do you think it could be a pregnancy symptom? She’s pregnant here and pregnancy can do weird things to your body. I also think this was recorded months ago based on the trees.

@@Rosa-kd2clI think it's likely to be a freckle under your nail (that's what it was for me, luckily) but as Allie mentioned, it could also be melanoma. That's why I wrote the comment, hoping Claire would be told about it to have it checked out, it's such a small thing, most people don't pay attention to it

Milano cookies are something I tried once in the states years ago, forgot about, and now I can't find them anywhere in Canada! Recently I tried to find them and had no luck, so this video is so well timed. This might be the first time I've had an urge to follow a recreated/dupe recipe lol
