Muscle Milk Sludge.....expired?

I bought a 4 pack chocolate Muscle Milk. When I opened all of them, the top portion of the chocolate was a watery, lighter color than usual, and then the dark sludge came out.... I couldn't even shake the drink before I opened it because it was so filled to the brim--bloated. So why the sludge? There's still 6 months before the expiry date. What are we drinking??? This happened to my Vanilla Muscle Milk as well. I opened the carton and the top portion was clear water. I poured the clear water out, and the white vanilla stuff inside was a tofu / jello like consistency....i couldn't even pour it out. =(

It's either a lack of stabilizers or someone left it in a hot place for a while.

@ThatKrazyBoy but i learned the easy way to avoid the sludge problems is if the container is too full and bloated, and you are not able to shake it and feel any liquid moving inside.....then don't buy it cus it's sludgy. Usually happens to chocolate flavors.

@ThatKrazyBoy nope, i bought it straight from Ralphs and opened it. I had the same sludge problem with the chocolate protein drink that Costco sells.

Ummmm its suppose to be shaken first readdd duhhhh it will say shake first

Its supposed to be like that haha! I just cut the top off with some scissors and blend it with some milk! Trust me, it works! :)
