In reality, Axl is just an egomaniac who likes to make sure that everybody around him understands that he is top dog. Asserting his authority is his absolute favorite activity. If he's feeling like anybody within the vicinity may possibly NOT recognize his superiority, it doesn't matter what he's doing, he will stop and make sure that everybody knows that he has all the power.
Sabina Trapp he actually took drugs, mostly cocaine... and pills, when you're touring you have to keep it up so cocaine is the answer they were touring for 2 years straight
Justin Preher lol have some random person come up to you have them translate when you're saying even its English to English (in an English speaking country, or another language just to REALLY Confuse people xD)
When he’s sitting on the steps with the interpreter, he sounds like a kindergarten teacher lol! But he’s damn right. People would throw bottles at them! He had the right to be pissed!
He and his band carried responsibility to keep crowd control. They have the power to throw a riot, and no security guard or police could handle the 100k audience if that happens. It's up to them to set a role model.
I find "beat the fuck out of that person" rule kinda ok. People throwing things at stage and audience may hurt someone pretty seriously, so why shouldn't they be hurt? Maybe people will start thinking before throwing something so less and less people would be hurt. Two people died at their concert because of other fans.
He has every right to stop the concert becauste of abusive audience if it's not safe. Those two deaths left the band fucked up. Only because people didn't listen to them to calm down.
Axl is actually very rational and professional in most of these videos, looking out for their safety is a part of his job as a frontman and he did it well!!

Well, maybe not Axl's job to say this, but if he didn't, who else would have told them to stop throwing missiles around? He had the balls to do it, when other stars wouldn't, for fear of losing popularity, fans. But, really, I think this is a task the venue or show's management and security should be taking care of, not the artists, there to entertain. Perhaps they could be briefed before the show, about wheñ to step in and simply "tell" these missile throwing fans to desist or leave the venue, eject them horizontally, if they persist, trying not to distract attention from the main show, with such petty "sideshows" some fans like to start, when "fame" (the kind they don't have and can't simply enjoy in those who do have it, on stage, goes to their heads. Insane fan behaviour! Why not wait till after the show to offer your idol sweets, roses, your wet panties or other such tokens of love and appreciation? Some stars love it. I once gave one a small piece of jewellery, not very valuable as it's all I could afford. It was just a token and I didn't expect anybody so rich would want to be seen wearing my token gift. When I saw them wearing it so proudly, I felt so happy, though I never told a soul they were wearing a humble token I had given them. A female friend noticed the celebrity wearing my gift and said "Did you see that weird tacky cheap jewellery ? You'd think someone with so much dough could afford something better than that" I blandly replied "Yeah. It must mean something to them.." and quickly changed the subject, without mentioning who gave this celebrity such a jumble gift they treasured so much.
I think that since in the Appetite for Destruction tour, somebody got killed at one of their shows, he takes it VERY PERSONALLY to make sure that his shows are safe and if they aren't, it's over dude!! "On August 20, 1988, Guns N' Roses performed at the Monsters of Rock festival at Donington Park. At the start of their set, the capacity crowd of over 100,000 began jumping and surging forward. Despite singer Axl Rose's requests that the crowd move away from the stage,[citation needed] two fans were trampled to death;[3] the band were unaware that anyone had died." I never understood this until I watched this video here.
Yeah like infighting people to “beat the fuck out of each other” for throwing stuff. He doesn’t care about the audience. He’s worried about his own safety. No other band needs a translator so he can bitch at the crowd. Most of whom aren’t the ones throwing things.
@@tenpercentfordabigguy8550 who’s doing the other half? Being the frontman is a very taxing job. The vocalist can’t party like the rest of the band, or your voice is shot. The dude was a pro
Axl was amazing stopping shows for people throwing stuff. If only artists today had the audiences best interest and SAFETY for everyone at a concert no one would have to lose a life.
They do. Artist today do the same but now they are heros. Axl was the evil for doing that. However, audiences of today are way more nice. In GNR and other shows, there was a lot of violence.
@@ngrp27 That's because Axl did it based on moods. There were times Axl created the problem, sometimes fans weren't doing anything and he'd fly off the handle. That's not being heroic.
Good on him. People who throw shit at the stage just ruin the show for everyone and endanger the musicians. Don't know what people give Axl so much shit. He handles it quite professionally.
Pandasaremetal Why would I be joking? Have you seen previous GNR shows where Duff got hit in the head with a beer can and couldn't continue to play? Why wouldn't Axl be pissed off?
To be honest, as egotistical as Axl can be, the interpreter stuff in response to stuff being thrown at the stage is fair enough and stopping the show to address the jerk that threw it is the right thing to do. If you think having someone stand in front of you with an iPhone recording a concert is enough to ruin the experience, just try having a bottle hitting your head. Right on, Axl.
Thats true. Those iPhone people are a close second to being hit with a bottle. Lol. I saw The Who a few years ago and this woman recorded the entire 3 hour concert. The people behind her were pissed to the point they were throwing crumbled up paper at her to get her to quit. She was blocking people's view of the stage. I dont know how you can enjoy a concert when your worried about recording the whole thing on your phone. Very annoying.
He´s not a douchebag. He´s actually telling people to behave and respect each other. He´s even saying that he doesn´t want to see the audience getting hurt. All you haters, try to perform 200 days of 280 days and see what happens to you. You couldn´t. That´s why Axl Rose was up there on stage and not you. Because of his distinctive voice and wild rock´n roll attitude. Great band and great songs. It wasn´t even him who was hit in the second "thowing" part in the video. It was a member of the band. On the wrong day, I´d have left the staged. On the wrong day, you all would have left the stage. Cowardly YES! But that´s how it is. Tell me one thing. If someone threw a bottle at you - lets say - in a class room, where you were supposed to make a speech. What would you do? Would you just laugh and go on. Time and again? The same in traffic, when you see an idiot driving to close to you and provoking you. On the street if someone call you a fat arse? You wouldn´t react? I mean, no, you would just laugh...If it was that funny, don´t you think Axl Rose would laugh all the way up to the bank after a tour....and just swallow all the bullshit. Think not!
Axl is so upset when people throw bottles at the stage because duff got hit in the face with a glass bottle of piss and he couldn't play for the rest of the show, it endangers the musicians.
I remember the show in Hamilton Ontario when he stormed off the stage because someone threw a glow stick. Then claimed it was a bottle. Can’t believe a fucking word this ass hat says.
I never really hated him until I saw this. Before that I just thought his music was below average pop music. Now I really truly hate this overactive man child.
I love how Axl always says he's "goin' home" whenever he storms off stage or threatens to storm off stage lol. He doesn't get pissed off nearly as easily nowadays, but occasionally he does and he still threatens to "go home" like an 8 year old who is pissed off because he failed to record a single base hit during the wiffle ball game at his neighbor's birthday party 😂😂😂
There were certainly instances where he was wrong. I will say that the times he took stuff being thrown seriously was correct of him, as that is just obnoxious crowd behavior that could actually lead to performers and others being hurt.
Axl showed me a lot-compliments for his sober, stop the show mentality when safety is at issue. For the band especially, with lights in their faces, how can they see objects thrown until they’re on top of them? I doubt if I ever heard one G&R song all the way through, and yet this guy really won me over. Maybe I’ll give them a listen!
Saw this band three times in the 80’s and 90’s and they were superb!!! Not one negative incident and I don’t remember waiting a long time for them to come on stage. Axl was magical every time. “ You’re in the jungle baby.. you’re going to die” 🎺🎼🪕🪕🎸🎤🎧🥁🎹🤘🏼🤘🏼
People might call him a boomer for stopping the flow of the show but he does it for the right reasons, at the very least he respects himself and the others with him.
I remember Use your Illusion Concert at Eastern Creek Australia!, 92, Crowd started a small fire!, Axle said!, " PUT THAT FIRE OUT!, or there is NO CONCERT!, ( Fire was put out immediately! ), Greatest International Band Ever!.
I kind of get where Axl was coming from - have some basic decency and respect for not only the band you paid money to see but all the other people who paid. Throwing stuff .can seriously hurt someone and he was well within his rights to stop the show and warn the crowd to not tolerate it. I never got how people would pay a lot of money to go to a show and then throw shit at the band. It makes no sense.
How about have some decency not to fuck over your 30,000 other fans who paid to see you because you are such an uprofessional bitch that you have to let 1 annoying person make you ruin everything for everyone else
Tombking2 The whole point here is Axl is NOT letting someone get away with it, by stopping the show and warning whoever did it. He would not allow himself, members of the band or the crew to suffer injury because some ass pays to get into a show and then proceeds to throw shit at the band. He's actually being professional by stopping and warning the audience. Being unprofessonal would have been to just walk off without an explanation.
It still doesnt beat the fact that he tells the other 30,000 guys that "I dont care about you" And how is his principle of not going to let anyone get away with it going to help? Do you think that the people throwing shit are the ones who care? They are the ones who are trying to make him pissed off and go off the stage to annoy everyone else. Not sure if youve actually been a live musician, but that is not professional whether you think it or not.
Tombking2 I've been a professional musician for 25 years and have played very large stages with lots of crew. Something thrown at you from the audience can do damage. Sure, the ass throwing shit doesn't care - that's why Axl is telling the audience to stop people if you see them doing it. He is employing the audience to police themselves - he can only do so much from the stage besides warn them or walk off. By stopping and warning them he IS being professional. He is looking out for the safety of himself, his band and crew.
Rock the Stage NYC Oh yea, Montreal. So "profesionall" is threatening to crowd and musicians trough media(he will fight as long security is there, other wise primadona is off the stage), stopping shows, destroying microphones/hotel rooms with water beds and oxigen tanx, living a lifestyle which has insured his career demise as he himself said that he doesnt warm up but drinks and smokes etc...Oh yea 5 albums in 30 years and all band mates dislike the guy.I would change that word proffesionall to AXL.
Total respect for Axel for doing this. I saw them twice at the Use Your Illusion tour in the early 90's and remember him getting a guy thrown out for being a twat! I have played shows where people try and get get on stage or throw shit (usually drunk people) and it can get quite scary. Musicians are trying to entertain and the odd knob end spoils it for everyone else.
I agree. He had every right to be pissed about people throwing projectiles at the band. Unfortunately it became a bit of a double edged sword in that people found out he could be easily riled up, so naturally more assholes starting showing up to more shows to see if they could get him to lose his cool again. The Izzy Stradlin and Metallica rants however, were completely unnecessary.
Sometimes he threw tantrums, no doubt about it but he was absolutely right to stop the show when people threw stuff on stage or started attacking people in the crowd.
+mrbrockpeters throwing things on stage is dangerous. for everyone. It can completely ruin the show. I remember a concert where someone threw a bottle on stage and it caused a speaker to short and explode. it wasn't a GNR concert. it was a small concert. but it can happen at any concert. people can be hurt and people HAVE been hurt by this childish shit of throwing dangerous objects towards the stage. good for Axel, not allowing it to happen. not condoning it. I don't remember where he got the philosophy from, but I believe it was another famous band. It was something along the lines of not allowing people to throw shit on your stage because someone can get hurt and they might continue doing this to the next band playing. this isn't little bullshit objects he's bitching about either. they're not something soft like panties. they're hard objects. sharp object. pointed objects. they're dangerous. people didn't pay to go to a concert and get hurt. he's looking out for his fans, his bandmates, and himself.
Watched the whole video. Never saw him pissed at anybody who wasn't throwing stuff or spitting on the band. Watch carefully, he is very polite to the interpreters. He did go off on the band ONCE. He was referencing the self admitted heroin addiction of Duff, Slash, Izzy, and Steven...
Eric Beach he also got pissed at Izzy another time. Not to mention that he went crazy at the Toronto concert because his throat hurt. He was also an asshole behind the scene, hence why everyone left.
Axl N’ Roses I have a love hate relationship with Axl, but he was clearly the catalyst behind GNR breaking up. That’s not to say he isn’t supremely talented and a huge reason for their success, because he most certainly is.
Everyone gives him a bad name….he was the ONLY ONE sober at the time, the rest of the band (although talented ) was all fucked up, he was level headed when everybody else wasn’t.
Axl doesn't discount dabbling in the hard stuff, however, he did pull out of it and stay sober, the others followed suit when he said enough is enough.

He and his band carried responsibility to keep crowd control. They have the power to throw a riot, and no security guard or police could handle the 100k audience if that happens. It's up to them to set a role model.
Omg that’s so fucking true lol. These fans might as well be 5 years old with how some of them act
A scolding,a temper,an interpreter....how axl incorporated that into a rock concert was a stroke of genius.
Why is everyone mad at Axl for him wanting his shows to be safe and not wanting people dead or seriously hurt
I don't know much about this but if he wants his shows to be safe then I applaud him !!!
Yes, he may be douchey sometimes , but not on this subject!
he says "if you find the asshole that threw the bottle, kill him"
I find "beat the fuck out of that person" rule kinda ok.

Axl was amazing stopping shows for people throwing stuff. If only artists today had the audiences best interest and SAFETY for everyone at a concert no one would have to lose a life.
Many artists today do. Just off the top of my head I can name several - Billie Eilish, Panic at the Disco, BTS- and I'm sure there are many more.

However, audiences of today are way more nice. In GNR and other shows, there was a lot of violence.

I wonder if Ozzy has an interpreter to interpret what he says to the English speaking crowds.
That's easy just ask the crowd for more bats
Ozzy was probably too busy trying to catch the bottles to see if there was any alcohol left in them
Even an interpreter couldn't interpret Ozzy 😂

On the wrong day, I´d have left the staged. On the wrong day, you all would have left the stage. Cowardly YES! But that´s how it is. Tell me one thing. If someone threw a bottle at you - lets say - in a class room, where you were supposed to make a speech. What would you do? Would you just laugh and go on. Time and again? The same in traffic, when you see an idiot driving to close to you and provoking you. On the street if someone call you a fat arse? You wouldn´t react?
