Haha, I have the same reason as you when friends ask me why I'm buying VOO instead of CSPX. I really like Syfe Trade with their free trades and fractional shares. Also, thanks for letting us know IBKR does not support fractional shares for LSE! I'm kind of a late investor here, so I only use Syfe Trade for now :)
I don't know if you would have access to it, but Fidelity offers an S&P 500 fund, ticker FXAIX, that has the lowest expense ratio I've found on an SP500 fund, at 0.015%. I've been investing with Fidelity for over 10 years, but I do know they aren't terribly friendly (lots of limitations) if you live outside the US. If you're able to buy into it though, it's a great fund.
Hi Demi, I have invested in VOO already. When VOO were to go down in the future just as what happened to the S&P index during covid, should I hold or sell?
Hello, I think go back to the fundamentals of why you invested in the first place. And what is the fundamentals of the S&P500 index? Short term investing or long term?
@@DemiZhuang Hi Demi, I was thinking if the S&P 500 index can perform in the future as well as what it performed in the past, I think I would invest in it for the long term even with my outstanding loans I currently have.
Hi, i chanced upon your channel and this particular video where you introduced SYFE. Can i ask between moomoo and Syfe, which one is better? I am new to trading and i dun have any of the accounts yet. Thank you for your time and reply. Appreciate your advice !
Hello!! Hmm there's only so much you can do on syfe I'd say it's really very beginner friendly but you won't be able to learn much there. Moomoo user experience is great, pretty beginner friendly but you do need to learn and explore the platform a little. They have the Learn tab that teaches stuff you want to know about investing as well. Pricing wise, they're offering 1 year free commission trades in the singapore stock market. No free trades in the US market unlike syfe.
@@DemiZhuang thank you so much for your prompt reply. I am truly appreciative that you pointed out Moo2's advantages. When I sign up for it, I will definitely use your referral code.
Hi Demi! I got gifted US$200K. I'm new to investing. I'm more of a set and forget kinda guy. Should I DCA it or Lump sum it into the S&P500 Index Fund? Cheers!
Hi there, been watching your journey of buying into VOO, and it was really helpful and realistic. I recently was comparing the two ETFs which is VOO and QQQm to prepare my savings plan after I start working. May I have some opinions on why not QQQm even though it gave a larger growth in the long term? Considering that the investing period of 10-20years, the growth difference would significantly affect the capital gains. Also, are we able to buy fractional shares for VOO in IBKR? Really do appreciate if u do reply to this comment, have a good one! >
Hi Demi very useful info thank you I’d like to invest in the Singapore banks too but where can I get info regarding the dividends and the ex dividend dates etc any website to suggest thanks
@@shyhxiangyew3144 to make it worth ideally it will be 2 share per transaction, butttt if you keep waiting and you lose out the gains...I would rather just buy regardless. Also it's USD 1.90 after taxes :)
Does it have any charges to buy under the customised portfolio for CSPX? I assume it won’t be considered as a trade since it’s not under the syfe trade too? I’m new to Syfe and new to investing 😅
This not dca but a mix of dca/crash buying. You must explain how you rationalize when to buy? Because what you do at what time what amount has a certain intelligence but it is not communicated here. If you want to educate it would be great to dive in this topic. Thanks
Thanks for the feedback! The main point I conveyed was not to time the market, just DCA, buy a few times a month or once a month, stay invested. Everyone has a different strategy. The choice of how often is what people needs to decide on their own. In my own buys I had odd change in my account after buying SG stocks so might not be the best example of eg $100 a month.

Everyones preference is different I guess and thats ok too! :) thank you for this!
I thought IB does allow fractional shares in LSE already?
Thank you Demi. I chanced upon your channel and must say that your narrations are very clear and easy to understand for novice investors.
Thank youuu!!! I'm glad it helps!
I prefer VUAA over CSPX due to the lower share price. It's pretty much the exact same thing but easier to DCA in.

Hello! Set up automatic buy in at different time intervals! You can just deposit the amount in and set that up and you're good to go!

i recommend the good old 60/40 portfolio (60% QQQ and 40% S&P)
thanks, i am following the whole series with you
Good job, Demi. I would also consider to rove to VWRA in the future.
hello! could you share why? haha I'd love to hear your reason.
Hi, would like to check with you does Syfe still giving 2 free trades every month after the current 3 months unlimited free trades?
Yup!

can you explain what and how much its gets taxed?
30% US tax on the dividend payout amount.
Is it applicable for Filipino? Accessible for Filipino?

sgx has the dividend history
If im not mistaken CSPX can be traded in fractional shares in IBKR now. Not sure since when, but I tried recently seems like can pass through
it’s a recent thing so hurray for us!
@@Qibbles Yeap, idk what prompts me to try fractional on the app and surprisingly found out that it can😂
how much should we buy to not make it worth paying the 1.70USD? was thinking of doing fractional purchase but i guess the fees will be rather high

How about splg ? Tq demi
I hav zero knowlage so wer to start from do we need to go to the bank
You can now buy fractional shares of CSPX!!!
yup. but syfe trade free trade will still be better unless I invest above X $ every month.
Sorry I am new. Is Voo ticker symbol to buy S&P500 index?
Yes but it is only one the available ones out there! There’s SPY and more.
@@DemiZhuang Thks Demi. CSPX is another S&P500.
CSPX yes but it's listed on LSE (London Stock Exchange). LSE isn't a ticker

Do I set frequency monthly, weekly or Bi weekly?
your preference!
CSPX is available in Syfe Wealth under 'customised' section with fractional shares too. I've been using it for few years now.
Wow! Thanks for sharing!
@@DemiZhuang You are welcome! 😉

What is a free trade, how to use it? What is fractional shares, how to use it? Mountain tortise here asking lots of questions. Pls excuse.
Just execute a trade (buy or sell), first 2 is free. Fraction of a share, anything < 1 is a fraction.
hi demi, any idea if tigerbroker could do fractional shares too?
Hello, yup they do!

Hey! At the moment no, I'm focusing on building the size of my investments in the Singapore market.
Not bad ofc. But you need to get on individual stocks. I've started a my porfolio un February and im up 23% already.
