I reached my first 100k (excluding CPF) at age 27 In 2018 - fast forward 5 years later I am at SGD 1.04m (excluding CPF about 80k) through property and equity investments and salary multiplier
Congrats on reaching your first 100k! It's great that you have a goal in mind from young unlike myself still pretty clueless on what I want/need.. Enjoyed watching your videos as usual, very inspiring 😊
i also reach 100k at 27 (outside of CPF), then the next five years i blew it all on KTV, women, alcohol, travelling and gambling. WORTH IT. now 34 and going full monk mode again
Hi Demi, what corporate bonds do you hold? Is it those Temasek Bonds? Thanks again for your transparency, knowledge and motivation. Sure can help n relate to many of us😊
yes! I did reveal them quite a few times in those money diaries series! Thank you for the encouragement, really keeps me going knowing some of you do appreciate! Cheers~
Whats your thoughts on starting at a slightly later age (im 28), married, preparing for my BTO reno and child? I do not have alot of spare money i can put in long term investing for compounding
@@DemiZhuang I do have more than 50% of my assets invested, however, im stuck between keeping up that investments or putting money aside for my renovation and plans for children in the near future, any thoughts?
Hello Demi! Thanks for the insightful video. Could you share how your stocks capital jumped from $18k in June to $31k in July? If you still could remember what happen back then.. haha. And also how your bonds + t-bills jumped from $36k in April to $51k in May.
@@DemiZhuang I see, so is it accurate to say that the main driving factor that helped you achieve $100k was mainly due to your income increase (RUclips, etc.), and not because of your capital gains and returns in stocks, bonds, and t-bills?

seriously, a lot of tips we all know, is just cannot discipline to do la...same as want to be slim etc. Anyway at 27 also never think of such thing...now also too late liao.......just enjoy life ba........be happy.
It's never too late. I had to restart at networth zero at around 26 or 27yo when my dad had cancer & his bills came in. Good mindset to stay positive, be happy & enjoy life!
Usually they’re released thru banks! Similar to how we apply for Singapore Savings Bond and TBills :) after IPO u can purchase in the open market. Moomoo’s platform has them listed too
@@DemiZhuang It is possible, I hit my 1st million 2 years after hitting my 1st 100k. I thought the same as you. I too started working early at the age of 15 while still secondary school. Bought my 1st private property by placing at 10% deposit (deferred payment scheme) at the age of 23 after hitting my 1st $100k. I bought my 1st HDB at the age of 25 & hit my 1st million too. Bought my 3rd property at the age of 29. Started buying many insurance policies at the age of 30. Started decouping & bought my 4th property at the age of 36. I have recently bought my 5th local property and now just retired at the age of 40 relying on all my investments for income. Jia you!!!
I think investing early is a nice thing to do, but I will still err on caution of telling people to invest when they are too young. In my uni days, I had seen friends who lost loads of money (-40 to 50%) from the stock crash, and the loss was pretty significant. Investing is a battle of wits, and maybe because I am a stock picker, so I suffered less, by countering and rebalancing my portfolio with more resilient stocks to reduce losses during the downs (~20%). All this comes with experience, but more importantly I believe people should not rush into stocks/indexes blindly without understanding their mindset whether they can take a loss. I would say paper investing is better as it trains the mind to avoid an investment panic sellout.

What would you reccomend to start investing for retirement? Would you reccomend any roboinvestors? I am a 25 y/o beginner in this. Thanks!
Broad based ETFs, Index Funds if you can. But if you don't want to think so much into it, Roboadvisors can be the way to go.
Thanks for the best and wise advices ❤ Need start learning slowly at a age of 25😂😂😂
never too late! :)
Damn congrats. 36 and don’t have that

I think it doesnt matter when you start as long as you do it asap. Beyond 50 thats when it matter when but now in your 20s or 30s just start somewhere

Don’t invest $ that you need in the next 2-3 years. U never know how the market will be like..
Hi Demi, congrats on hitting 100k before 27. I have also hit 100k this year at 27 mainly cuz of the recent bull market.
Congrats too!!! :)

Hello, I invested more hence capital increased. Bought more t-bills then hence increased.

I didn’t use it. And whether you use it or not, these days fraud transactions keep happening and you can’t tell whether is it from this kind of stuff.
