- I was a little skeptical at first but I definitely find myself reaching for this tape more often than my others. It's a great addition to the shop but definitely not the cheapest tool I own. I'd love to hear what you think about it!

I’m a handyman and woodworker. I’m all for tools that make my life easier and for $200+ but saves me time is well worth it. I’m also dyslexic and ADD so having this thing save all my measurements is amazing.

I have order one on the kickstarter, yet to arrive… but I got it because I love my digital callipers so much because they take out the guesswork. So this was going to take out the guesswork of reading the tape. If it ever arrives.
I just got mine 1 month later and as a welder with bad math skills this thing helps a lot
This reminds me of when PCs first came in back in the '80s (yeah, I'm old). It took awhile to understand their full potential. And when we did, it changed how we worked.

Maybe it's like that. Or maybe it's like that $400 drink fetching robot from the '80s that never caught on. That thing cost a fortune and changed nothing.

I just started my apprenticeship with electrical. I think this would help alot given I have a difficult time doing fractions effeciently and quickly. I think this could really bridge the gap in my lack of skill for measuring.

OK so that tape measure is amazing! That would be great for people like me that have to find reading glasses just to see the numbers and marks. Of course I could never afford it but it would be extremely useful!

Yeah crowdfunding is not a fun experience but it does get the ball rolling on cool things like this.
That laser and ePaper display on side storing measurements is super cool and would be crazy useful, I definitely want one, but can't even come close currently to justifying getting one.
Yeah this isn’t one of those tools that makes you a lot of money back after you buy it. 🫠
Just received mine. Also pledged from Kickstarter. Did take 2.5 years to receive here in Australia, but definitely worth it. Though, how do you use the targeting mode?
I thought this was a cool kickstarter project and have invested in good ideas in the past so threw the money down. So far I am overwhelmed by this tape but am not a professional carpenter so am looking forward to its use on my projects. Clearly it is an amazing product and coupled with the app that has infinite possibilities I see this as the future of measurement. Time will tell whether it is worth the additional money but for me I cannot recommend it highly enough

Is the laser on a pendulum for plumb purposes?
I love mine!. Had it for week, game changer. Only issue I have is I did not have pencil clip in my box.
They told me they still have to "research it". A damn clip. Only extra they gave was a stupid sticker.

When you measured the thickness of the butcher block, it read 1-7/16. I'm not aware of a butcher block manufactured in that thickness. I question this device's accuracy.

Just buy a replacement tape to go in it. They sell them....

I like it. It will take me a bit to get used to using it but i'll buy one even at $200. Of course less expensive would be nicer but most of my better quality tools always cost a bit more. I think once I have some time with it, it will end up paying for itself in time and accuracy very quickly.
That’s pretty much how it’s gone for me. All you have to do is start using it and it’ll start to feel natural!
I'm sure a majority of cost comes from OLED display. But they are very energy efficient.
i just pulled mine out after sitting on it for 6or whatever months its been. i'm guessing the laser is how you turn it off. looking at the side i'm not positive i turned it off though. help?
Yes, the laser button does turn it off all the way, but your measurements remain on the OLED display. Even after your battery is fully dead, they’ll still remain on the display. That science is above my pay grade lol.
As someone who has dyslexia and a post it note brain, this is like a gift from god 😂

Nobody wants to say what kinda stand out it has. That's the only thing that matters
Stand out is nice for carpenters. But to us cabinet makers we need some flexibility.
Would prefer a critical view comparing the accuracy of the measurements to known quality tools like from Starrett, others. Demonstrate how I can make reproducible accurate measurements for known standard reference cut material. Everything else sounds like a sales pitch.
Was supposed to come with a pen-holder which I really wanted, but I guess a literal clip that snaps to the side is too much for these guys. Gonna spend another 3 years "researching" it? Terrible company, promised us extras for delays but don't even deliver on a damn clip for a marker. Never buy something from these guys, I know I won't ever again.
Using my milwaukee tape measurer again cause it aint a stupid gimmick that breaks from a 6 foot drop.
Tape measures are always inaccurate I have 5 and not one lines up with another
In resume... you can expend 200+ dollars in a gadget that do your fractions nonsense or... You can use metrics. The End. 😋😉😁

Hi all. I am from South Africa. I purchased this tape back in 2022, number 876 to back the project! To date I have only received emails as to how delayed the project has been! Delay, after delay, after delay. I have tried emailing the guys doing the project, never, ever reply from nobody. Perhaps living on the African continent, you get overlooked, but yet they seem to accept your cash without a hitch.
I would love to leave a good review, but circumstances don't allow. I will revert back if I ever receive it...
Do not buy this product, I have been waiting for it to arrive for 6 months, others have been waiting for 1 year and even 2 years to receive it.
I’ve got mine and it’s great. I purchased it on the pre release as I got the M1 as well. Yes it’s been a wait but I’d rather have a working device than a paper weight
It's what to expect when pledging a crowd funding project. It takes time to gather all the necessary resources and put the item in full production. And for a smaller team, of course, there will be delays. I did finally receive mine after 2.5 years from Kickstarter pledge, but definitely worth it. Soon they will more available stock and people will be able to buy it without waiting months.

Obviously you don't work with a tape measure making measurements hundreds of times a day. This is world changing for people that do in fact need to make measurements daily
