Thank you for your very impressive review of all those laser levels. From that I went out and bought a Bosch GLL -3-80 CG and am very happy with the performance. I have added a couple of observation that may be of interest. There are 3 intensity levels for this laser that can only be changed through the use of the phone app, they are medium (default level), high and low plus the laser can be turned off, this was mentioned by others. The high level is considerably higher than the default output but not enough to see it in direct sun light although laser line can easily be seen in indirect sun light up to 3 to 4 metres. From my estimates it would be on par to the brightness of the Milwaukee that you tested. The laser seems to work fine on 4 rechargeable AA batteries with amount of charge correctly indicating it battery capacity on the display. I found that I had no problem doing fine adjustment in the horizontal plane by just rotating the laser level but the vertical adjustment on the mount is very stiff and the adjustment knob is too smooth to get a good grip. The AA battery holder is very difficult to remove and it is easier to open the AA battery holder in the laser to change the batteries than trying to remove it.
There are two versions of the laser. The earlier version has “Cal guard” were as in the later version this feature has been removed, including the “cal guard” button. The Bosch 360 laser level is made in China.
In Australia there is an extended 6 year warranty by registering the laser level on the Bosch website. To do this registration process is rather challenging as it doesn’t like Mozilla Firefox web browser and gives no indication of the problem. The Bosch web site is also very slow.
I had a DeWalt 360 laser. Withing 2 years all the diodes died and DeWalt refused to cover it under their limited warranty. $600 laser that didn't last 2 years, they wanted $275 to fix it. Nope. I'll never buy anything from DeWalt ever again
shit happens write to the executive office, those are the emails that cost them money
I’ve had the same experience with DeWalt. In both their after sales service and quality of product- Pure rubbish.
Should have challenged their limited warranty policy. They would have fixed it rather than risk a court case it the ACCC. 3 years is 3 years
If you are basing your choice to use a tool because it stopped working after the warranty was up ... Then you aren't reading warranties to well.
@@NathanSprouleDrums you should try not dropping lasers and fine tuned equipment. Their drills and saws are insanely tough.
I own the dewalt 12v 360 and it's my most valued tool now. Can use it for everything! 12v lasts me for 2-3 days (16-24 hours) The 18v would seem like over kill plus more weight. Also the 12v 360 is light enough the magnet will hold itself on metal corner bead which is awesome. I wouldn't trust to leave it there since I have a pole for it. But it's nice for quickly picking a height and just checking things real quick. I highly recommend using any green laser for work. Nothing looks better then your tile grout lines going around the whole room all lining up on the horizontal laser level when customer walks in :D
I picked up the Milwaukee 3 plane today and noticed a super high pitched sound while the laser is on. Does the dewalt do that too? Or do all laser level emit a high pitched sound while on?
I"ve been running the Dewalt 12V for at least 5 years now. I have a 2nd one now and still it keeps beating the drum...unbelievable. I only got the second one because I thought it would give up the ghost soon....still hanging in there! Commercial carpenter using this literally hours daily on average 3 days a week I'd say. Only thing I would say is battery is starting to fade slightly after 5 years, but still runs 4+ hours. Outside of that I have dropped it over 12 feet onto direct concrete 2 times and 2nd reason why I bought number 2 unit....just in case, but it's still just as accurate and I like the older case better so it's my go too for 100 foot max distances. Always put up center of max distances to cut your deviations in half. Excellent product!
I’ve also had that one. How about the price increase on that laser ? Sheeeesh !
Legend! Been looking at getting my first laser and on apprentice wages it ain't cheap! Takes the guess work out for me cheers big fella 🤙
This video helped me greatly with my decision. Was going to go with Milwaukee as I’m on the platform but ended up purchasing the bosch. The accuracy and warranty was what sold me as well as not needing to buy bosch specific batteries to run it. It has many many pluses over the other brands so for me it was an easy decision
👍👌
Thank you for so detailed review. It is really helpful!
You’re welcome. Thanks for feedback.
Helped me pull the trigger. Thank you
Thanks.. THIS is science! Everyone can plainly see the performance of each device.
Thanks. Cheers for the feedback
I do wish my Bosch was a touch brighter for outdoor work but I like how it syncs to a receiver for longer distances.
Just got the Milwaukee 360 , excited for it …
What a great comparison. Awesome job.
Thanks Edward. I wish I could have had more time with the lasers. Had some interesting results though 👍
Awesome review! Thanks.
Man I’d love to see the Mikita represented…. That little 360 Bosch is pretty handy size wise
Thanks for the comparison.
Do any of these support use with main adapter, rather than just battery?
If you have the possibility you should take a look at Leica Lino L6G and Geo-Fennel 6X-Green. Both 3x360.
Nice review 👍🏻 have you tried the Makita 360 12 volt ?
Nice vid mate,l have had the 12v dewalt for a few yrs, great laser.
Too bad you can't calibrate these ones tho
I bought the Bosch 360 last year to replace my other laser that died.
Didn't even use it half a dozen times before it quit working and Bosch warranty was the worst.
I sent it in early April 2021, after they "lost it" and "found it" I finally got a replacement....which was USED, scratched and had spray paint on it. And it was a red laser when I sent in a green laser.
After another 2 months of complaining to them and they now didn't know where this other unit ended up, I finally got a brand new replacement in August 2021.
That’s bad service! Thanks for the info, I’ve wondered about their warranty.
@@AddictedtoTools Yeah, it wasn't good at all. I was pretty mad about it during the summer when I needed it and kept getting run around!
You need to register their product for an extra year of warranty (2yr total). I didn't do that with the first one and I was 2 months within the warranty period, luckily. I registered this new one to get the two year warranty.
2 years? Bosch do 6 years with registration
Yeah that’s what i thought. If you register within 4weeks it’s 6yrs warranty.
@@AddictedtoTools No. This is quoted directly from their site, and, I just went through it. Don't know where you got 6 years from...maybe on power tools but not laser devices.
"Bosch lasers and measuring tools will be free from defects in material or workmanship for a period of one (1) year from date of purchase. Bosch will extend warranty coverage to two (2) years when you register your product within eight (8) weeks after date of purchase."
Thank you for this!
Another great video Matt
Cpi is the thinnest line which is very important for indoor use
Awesome man! This review is exactly what I was looking for, Great comparison for green laser technology. I use Bosch 360 and the only complain is lack of that micro adjustment knob, the laser on BM1 mount rotates itself with even small wind or vibration on the site and there is no lock or knob to avoid/adjust it. I think Bosch will release new model to address this issue soon because these major brands are in great race for laser measuring devices these days. Thank you 🥂
Hey I use the same laser , I love it, but you need to run it with the motorised tripod base, (bosch RM3) it’s a game changer. It gives you the rotating micro knob, and also gives you a remote which you can micro adjust from 20-30m away. Highly recommended.
@@monterro82 Yes, RM3 is great addition. Thank you.
I like Bosch 360 👍
Tripod for lazer level - simplest alternative: ruclips.net/video/2BEqYqrvxR0/видео.html
Bosch 360 using as well and it have amazing clamp BM1.
Boys at work have the CPI 2 plane but I'm going to go with 3P Milwaukee since that's the batteries I have. I was looking at a dewalt before Milwaukee announced their laser
that's where I'm leaning towards. already having the batteries and charger helps. I was also going to get a new dewalt until Milwaukee came out. I have a 6 yr old dewalt red 2 plane laser which has been great.
Which one had the thinnest vertical line? thats the most important feat for me
As an electrician the Milwaukee m12 2plane laser is perfect with the plumb points aswell
Your information is good and useful
Thanks mate. I appreciate the feedback.
Very good comprehensive video
Cheers mate. I appreciate the feedback👍
Did you check the Laser Power of the bosch gll 3-80 cg in the App?
Here you can Adapt the intesity of the Laser. So the Max Level is much more intens/Bright than Standard Mode.
You forgot the Huepar S04CG. THIS is the best
Good comparison mate
cheers mate👍
I assume about 15:38 is when you were cussing off camera because you saw your fence, haha! Oh the things we do for RUclips!
Heard great things about the Huepar. Its big in the tile community wish it was in this comparison.
I actually got my hands on one later on and did a review. I like it
I’m really stuck between getting the Bosch or the Milwaukee 3 plane. What are your thoughts
I wanna see the Makita 3way 360 12v as I'm on the platform .. but I don't actually have anything 12v so I could go any of them. I need distance for fencing though. Currently got a Bosch 2 way but it tears through double a's
Didn't talk about beam error compensation ...have any of these got any sort of mirror calibration to make sure the mirrors sit plumb. Mirror quality? If the mirror(s) are actually sending the beam straight?
So useful thank you. The Milwaukee, Dewalt and Bosch look great there are tons of unknown brand lasers on Amazon the lower price is attractive & some have 20 lines which can’t be good for the eyes and I suspect the accuracy and build quality is inferior to established brands, or do we pay for the name, not sure I think I might go for Bosch. Thanks so informative!
I was hoping to see a test showing how good the self leveling was in each laser... I have a cheap eBay 3x360 and after a slight bump or adjustment it is quite slow compared to DeWalt that I have used before... I'm currently looking at a Milwaukee 3x360 because I'm a Milwaukee user... I was hoping to get the model that takes the 4v lithium battery but I couldn't go back to a non 360 laser now 🤦🏻♂️
This was an extremely good comparison, thanks for the video. Do you have any experience with the Hilti 3 x 360-degree laser?
Thanks mate👍 I haven’t used the hilti 360. I’ve only used the 2 plane laser around 6yrs ago which was good. I am planning on getting a heap more laser to look into. The hilti is definitely at the top of the list.
I’ve used the dome (r2d2 looking) Hilti and found it moved around on its own, we had to set up a receiver so we knew when it moved. The new 360 one should be better
That’s really strange. I wonder how it moved. I’ve heard mixed reviews on the 3plane 360 hilti. I’m keen to try it
@@mattskelton992 I had the hilti 360 laser but god dam its pricey £850gbp a bloody good laser though I've just invested in the 360 milwaukee
Hi did you try holding them on an angle with locked laser , which one can do 45 degrees
I have the Milwaukee 360 laser and I really can't complain
We have the Leica Lino lg6. It’s absolutely incredible. I would highly recommend getting your hands on one.
Hey mate. I’ve heard good things and Leica and apparently they help to make a lot of these other lasers. I’ll definitely see if I can get my hands on one to have a look at. What sort of work do you use it for?
@@AddictedtoTools use it framing houses in the states. Pretty much indispensable for us. From squaring up the building, to plumbing up 20ft tall walls and gable trusses, and framing in fireplaces on vaulted ceilings, can’t imagine not having it in the trailer at this point.
That scenario requires a quality unit for sure. Good to hear it’s a good unit.
Lino L6G is amazing. My favourite Laser with best visibility on market!!!
Not gone lie the Dewalt wall test on the siding was moving and looked like it was that strong but that part was cut to fast it was a quick review
$4k plus in laser levels. Awesome
Looks like a rave with all those lasers. Add some smoke next time…lol
Great comparison 👍
I use both milwaukee and dewalt battery platforms for my work. I was looking at the dewalt 360 and that's what took me here (not for a comparison but mostly to see what it's like), it was a quite in-depth look at everything. I'm probably going to go for the milwaukee 360 - it's considerably brighter by the looks of this (I didn't even know milwaukee had one TBH). also I feel like dewalt is losing it's luster for me...I've got bags and bags of dewalt tools as that was my go-to for years, but their customer service is awful. or maybe the lady I spoke to was just having a bad day. either way, since that day I've been buying milwaukee for both of my company's new tool purchases.
anyway, rambling aside...you did a great review. all points considered that I was wondering about. now I just need to settle on a laser mounting pole 🤔😂
Great job
which laser do you think is the best?
Any chance of adding Hilti & Stabila to the list? Cheers!
Opinion on the toughbuil?
Can anyone tell me how Klein 93pll would compare since it wasn’t in this comparison? But seems like a very good level especially for the price.
Good video man I have the 2 plane Milwaukee n I install tile for a living n I have one big big huge complaint it’s to dam heavy n the magnets r not strong enough im use to sticking my laser on a corner bead of a wall n slide it up n down to my choosing my old de Walt red 2 pl use to stick no prob of course it was much smaller but still so I had to invest in Milwaukee tripod they got me
They sure are heavy. I found the magnets to be strong, but it maybe what I’m sticking it too. Can’t knock the old dewalts. That’s what I’m still running.👍
Great video. Do any of those lasers project a grid pattern?
Are you able to compare Hilti PM 30-MG laser if you get a chance
This new Tron movie is legit!
Please make a self leveling test
Sonho de consumo ter todos esses
Um muito bom é hepar s04cg. Eu ultilizo
You forgot the Huepar lazer. I have tried alot of different ones. My favorite by far is huepar. It does so much.
I am on bosch 18 and 12, m18 m12, and dewalt 20, so going with which platform I'm on doesn't help me any LOL! I have been using a red bosch AA laser for years now, but would like more power and greater distance, so leaning toward a green 360 for more versatility. . . I really like the idea of having a built in micro adjustment knob without having to use an additional base. . . Just to be clear, the dewalt and milwaulkee both have the adjustment, but the brightest of the bunch Bosch is lacking the adjustment? I suppose you can never have the best of the best all in one product...
the Bosch has the Micro adjustment in the horizontal on the bracket.
A Micro adjustment at the vertical is nice to have if you need to Level more than 12 to 15 Meters but its not that important.
@@Zozo806 True, and if you want more (much more), buy the RM 3 base...
Never get why they have a plump dot on the 360 lasers, x marks the spot lads 😉
Bosch 360 can be use as a plumb point laser ?
788 is abit much just for a skin though, dewalt and Bosch have battery’s with them included
Mate you didn't show any features etc!? Which comes with a pendulum lock for working with angles and stairs? Im looking to get one this week .
Hey mate. The dewalts and prexiso don’t have the pendulum lock. The rest do.
@@AddictedtoTools thx matey
Thanks for this video. I am looking to upgrade my simple laser for easy home projects like hanging frames, shelves etc. I would like a self leveling one I could place on a tripod. These ones you are showing may be overkill for me. Can you recommend a laser for home use
Most bottom level lasers will do for around the home. The cpi 2 plane red laser is only $79(isnt in this video).
@@AddictedtoTools THANKS!! can you sendme link to get this laser?
sydneytools.com.au/product/cpi-x-line-red-beam-self-levelling-cross-line-laser
Nice work 👍. Wish you had the Hilti as well. How would rate the following 3 (360) plane lasers? - M12, Hilti and Bosch Green ?
I can’t say much about the hilti as it’s been years since I’ve used one. I’m aiming to find one to have a look at hopefully. The Bosch did seriously good and is cheaper than the Milwaukee. The Milwaukee definitely felt durable and heavy duty, but the Bosch had a yr warranty. It’s a seriously hard decision. I’m aiming at the Milwaukee at the moment, but only because of the micro adjustment and I’m already on the m12 platform. If I didn’t have Milwaukee I would go the Bosch with the Bluetooth mount
@@AddictedtoTools i have a hilti 5 way dot laser that i use regularly in day light, it destroys a bosch one another guy had on site with visibility in sun, i assume their line laser would be equally impressive and expensive
Thanks for the info adam. I’m definitely going to track a hilti down to trial. Unfortunately not as many people are running the hiltis compared to other brands. Maybe because of the price.
@@AddictedtoTools you thought Milwaukee was overpriced in Au. Check out the prices in NZ. Here the Hilti PM 30 is somewhat cheaper than M12 3Plane. Go figure.
I’ve heard that NZ is more expensive. Creamy prices.
Almost 7kdls in lasers wow ,Bosch 360 is the one we running the only problem with that laser is that can’t use extended 6.0 12v battery
It definitely is a good laser. I know many people that are using it and have loved it.
The bosch has serious issues with calibration. Many customers reporting the same issues.
I’ve used many different brands of lasers. I own the Hilti PM-30 and it’s literally the best. $100 more than the Milwaukee and totally worth the price.
Welcome to my friend how much the price of all kinds Dawlat with you thanks
How long have you had yours? I have one of the older Hilti three plane red lasers, but outside I cant see that thing 10' away. Otherwise its ok but the line has always been think for my tastes. I like hilti but have also owned Leicas which are nice. Any thoughts?
If that's the Bosch GLL3-330CG model I can guarantee you that has the most potent beam out of all of those models and can be detected the furthest outdoors b/c of how strong the laser is. Only thing is it's a $500 model on average. If you're wanting a crossline laser level there's 3 accessories that you have to have or depending on what you're using it for, you may only need one or two of them. If you're using it to transfer elevations, then you definitely want to get a telescoping laser level pole. It's a pole that the laser level attaches to via brackets, and you can raise/lower your laser level until you match up with the correct elevation. If you're going to use your LLvL for outdoor use, you have to get a receiver to detect the laser line b/c you won't be able to see it most likely but often you don't need to see the entire laser line. You just need to know where it intersects something like a batter board or something like that. Make sure you buy one that is compatible with your laser level. Not all laser level models can be detected by receivers so if you plan on using this make sure you buy a laser level that has a receiver that it can pair with. The 3rd accessory is not made or sold by the laser level manufacturers but if you're trying to line your vertical lines on a target point that's over 15 ft away, this gets very difficult and time consuming to do by hand. You need to buy a high precision manual rotation stage (make sure it's one that has matching screw hole size as your laser level or else you'll have to buy an adapter screw). A high precision manual rotation stage is a device that's used in the optics industry mostly. It's a small device that has a round stage on top and that's where the laser level attaches to. It will have knobs on it that you turn and it will spin the round stage and laser level in very fine amounts of movement. This allows you to lock onto target points far away so much easier and faster. There is a Huepar adapter mount that has a cheap version of one of these built into it but the gears inside are absolute crap and they will only last about a year. Buy a metal high precision rotation stage. I bought a 60mm diameter stage for about $45 off walmart.com and i can lock onto targets up to 50 ft away. Edmund Optics is an optics company that makes them also.
Hello, excellent video, I would like to know, for example, when you use the receiver at 20m, how much error does this laser have in cm? do you have any idea? thank you
I’m not sure actually. That’s a good question
What about the Huepar model? You have many but this model and no one is comparing this model with the top notch models.
If weren’t already on any of the battery platforms and just wanted to pick the best 360 laser level, would you go dewalt 18v or Milwaukee m12?
I'm sure he would go to Milwaukee. I have DeWalt platform and still leaning towards it
I need this items
Hello I want to buy a laser level, regardless of the price, I don't know which is better hilti pm30-mg 360° or a milwaukee M12 260°. For outside on a sunny or cloudy day, I want the one that is most visible outdoors and is not thick lines at long range. I look forward to your recommendation Thank you
I've seen people take the package off the Dewalt put a battery in turn it on and it be so far off its unusable. the best one I've had is the PLS 3 plane 360
anynew updates? I'm in between bosch gll330cg and milwaukee 360 green. haha
This video helped me a lot in my choice and I chose the Milwaukee 360 laser. I am very satisfied with my choice, the milwaukee laser has high precision and high quality, which is most important for work.
y have the bochs , it haz 3 power modes , it needs to turnit on max and then see the difrence
so im a contractor and i own the dewalt dw089, dw0825 and the milwaukee cross line laser....cross line lasers are more brighter than 360 lasers only because it focuses the laser consistently straight ahead but they cant compare to 360 lasers but they are brighter especially the expenive cross line lasers ....but the 3x360 lasers are more versatile then a cross line laser and 3x360 lasers are still bright and side by side theres no comparison really because a 3x360 will win simply because it wrap around the entire room in 3 different directions and the cross line look like shit next to one. so if your a carpenter having to move the cross line laser every 15mins can slow down your pace but there is a market for both lasers .....so if you think you need a cross line laser more than likely it will work for you and that goes for the 3x360 laser also
great
What's wrong with dewalt 360, it has that extra x on the wall and on the ceiling, can you explain that 🤔
Which works best in outdoor? I want to see the entire laser at outdoors. Is there any that can suit my need?
Me too 😢
With the 2 plane, $190 Cpi being compared to $650 MIlwaukee ??
how you think about this Dovoh brand Dovoh 3x360° Ultra-Bright Green Laser Level (H3-360G)
Hi trying to decide between the green bosch 360 and the green Milwaukee 360, close by the laser body, how thick are the lines?
take the Bosch. I had used both. The Milwaukee is a little brighter but not worth the downs it brings, especially in framing/drywalling.
Its heavy, the bracked is beding, and i use far more the Micro adjustment on the Bosch as the one on the Milwaukee.
Looks to me Bosch 360 and Milwaukee 360 the best ones in my opinion. Also it’s not bulky like some other ones.
Something he didn’t mention (unless I missed it) is how thick the the lines are for Milwaukee. At a farther distance you’re looking at a 3/16 wide laser line which decreases accuracy.
Misssing the PlS 360
absolute leader is Bosch 360. Just other is for DIY....
Depending on which way the 360 lasers are position the have a bright side and dull side.
Project shapes and horizontals and cross-hair and drilling points
Picture frame, level with ceiling, due to buildings are not always true
Adjustable horizon
= get One line for ceiling (without floor)
= parallel to picture frame height
Same for wall sides verticals (both sides then both lines for two cross-hairs)
= get the woman to approve (no argument later)
Drill
I just have a question, because I'm buying a new laser level. I was leaning toward the CGL 100 40G from Bosch, but I'm not doing the battery thing again, I switch mine out twice some days. Plus that one has no Bluetooth. So looking at the GCL 100 80 CG, I hate the red plumb points but it's 12v and has Bluetooth. I really want to keep it under 400, but I'd pay anything under 600 if does 360 and has a tool battery. And micro adjust is a must. I'm on Dewalt battery platform but for the laser idc I just want one I won't buy and be thinking "if I'd only dropped that extra 80." Anybody got a suggestion? I'd way appreciate it. Thanks a lot!
Also, great video thanks for the info
Sounds like the milwaukee or dewalt 360 would work for you
Can I get one of those levels?
Man i really don’t understand the lasers that run on the cordless platform batteries… if you use one and like it: i’m happy for you. This isn’t to tell anyone they are wrong.. when I bought one to set the plane on our laser products template machine i just bought the one recommended by the (a Lino L2.) I never even studied it enough to consider the battery system. All that said the one I got runs on 3x AAA batteries. I have been using that thing on the batteries it came with for well over a year now..
The reason the 3-plane Milwaukee laser isn’t as bright as the 2-plane Milwaukee laser is because the 3-plane laser pulses (faster than you can see with the naked eye) where the 2-plane laser does not pulse, giving it a much brighter appearance.
Need to compare the Hilti
Definitely. I’m chasing one.
Так какой из них лучший?
Is the bosch was on the max? Because you can adjust the brightness
Dude I just need a damn good laser for spot lights . Can’t find a decent priced one for my life. Don’t want to spend 100+ on trash literally ceiling use only what do you recommend I’m in the uk
I thought the Bosch 360 held its own! The height adjustment on the wall bracket, of the Bosch 360, is nice to have! Thx
It’s a great laser. The plumber I borrowed it off loves it. The verticals adjustment on the bracket is great. They have a heap of extras you can get for them.
@@AddictedtoTools Does the Bosch 360 and the Dewalt 360 essentially do the same thing, all with the same features? Thx
Main differences: dewalt 18/12v has the micro adjustment for horizontal changes while the extra bracket got the Bosch does micro changes for vertical.
The dewalt doesn’t have pendulum lock, which the Bosch does.
They’re very similar in all other aspects. Bosch Is a little cheaper though.
@@AddictedtoTools oh I’m comparing two different models from the ones you have listed. Sorry. Bosch 330 and the Dewalt 089. Thx
The bosch has a micro adjustable base you can get and the base and the laser can operate off you phone by Bluetooth
No Hilti??
You need a camera which can compensate for light flicker
Thanks for the feedback. I only use my iPhone for filming though. Maybe on the future when I can afford it. 👍
