I use this laser for everything all the time. I find it especially useful for shower doors, walls, shelfs, sinks + more. It saves me so much time. No more lines that has to be erased👍
I bought this laser for myself for Christmas, building a barndo inside of a steel framed building, this is perfect for laying out stud walls. Thanks for the video review, very helpful.
I could see the three line laser being an exceptional tool for building and repairing custom / racing or damaged automotive frames. And to use it to align components on custom frames and engine installations.
I'm a commercial electrician and I use the 3 plane laser for fixture layouts and everything else that needs to be square. Often exposed work that runs perpendicular to an existing wall is where this laser comes in handy. I call using this laser the buy one get one free method.
Great to hear that, this laser definitely is handy. I don't think Milwaukee also advertises it as a plumb bob, but the intersections are accurate for that type of use, which some electricians may need from time to time.
I am a plumber that often times installs shower valves and diverters on opposite shower walls that have to mirror each other. This multiple plane laser would be perfect especially on existing/old construction because the walls are usually not square or have consistent level points.
Thanks for the info and demo. I just bought this today so I can level out some ground and then use it to make sure my 4X4s as a base for a shed is level. Probably about impossible to do well with just a stick level.
I purchased for floor to ceiling glass shower enclosures, glass office partitions and herculite doors. It's very nice to have a laser that makes complete circuits around the room
I watched this video almost a year ago and said I would never need a laser. I just received my three plane. Was a bit upset and thought it didn’t have plumb. Thanks for going over what it does. This year flew by. Happy holidays.
Thanks for sharing and glad I could help. I don't think they advertise plumb, but I'm glad it does. I have a crooked wall that I built in my basement many years ago. I wish I had the laser back then. If I hired someone to fix it now, it would probably be the cost of this laser. Another words, this should pay for itself in no time.🙌
Confirmed that I’ll be buying this. I’ve been using 2 or 3 dewalt laser levels for tile and cabinet installation. But this blows them out of the water.
I want one so bad but I’m just a journeyman/foreman of my company and can’t swallow that price tag. I do custom homes with huge open spaces so this would help with layout on cans, receptacles, switches, etc.
Thanks man! This laser would come in handy for that. I've even used a cross line laser to hang a toilet paper bracket in our small bathroom, haha. It comes in handy for all size projects.
Thanks for sharing. I've though about making a video comparing the 2 lasers. Of of the things Milwaukee really did well is the bracket setup accessories for drop ceiling work. I like that it doesn't beep when setting it up.
I remodel homes and for the lighting and plumbing. Its such a time saver. The company I work for has a Dewalt 12 volt and the fine tuning is a pain. So I'm going to bit the bullet and get the Milwaukee three plaine level to go with all my other Milwaukee tools. The fine tuning has me sold.
Excellent! I was really surprised on the accuracy of the plumb bob! Awesome! These are now on my list. I see someone is a B&H shopper? ( being a nosy SOB I am 😁). I’ve shopped with them for years. Perhaps you’re updating some of your equipment for your channel? Your videos already are really good quality. BTW, I like it when you do a video outside, and it gets to be late in the day. I really enjoy those, for some reason. 🤷🏻♂️🙄😀😁👍👍👍✌🏻😁🇺🇸
Thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed it. I'm a B & H shopper for sure. I recently picked up some upgraded lighting for my indoor winter projects. I was in NYC a few years ago and stopped in their store. It's amazing! Almost a sensory overload with all the cool things.
@@MarkThomasBuilder Hi again Mark! You may already know, but B&H has just started their “MegaDealZone” promotion, on 100’s of items. I haven’t really looked at it yet, but usually one can find some great deals during the event. Best, Geo
Could have used this for a job & estimate recently. I performed a little handyman work from time to time. Since I don't do a ton of remodeling, I need all the tool goodies to make sure I do it right. The job was a small bathroom remodel ( tile floor, shower demo & tile, sink back slash, & lastly soaker tub tile. The M12 3 plane laser is my favorite & my pick cause I don't do comebacks!
@@MarkThomasBuilder yes it is! Merry Christmas & Happy new year Mark & also to your family. Thanks for all the hard work @ making videos for us!!!! We really appreciate it!
I would use it for cabinetry getting all cabinets in a house at the same height. I would also love to have the locking capability for a line for handrail or angle wall down stairs!
I use mine to square out floors, plumb doors and doors jambs, cabinets, check elevation heights from one side of the foundation to the other. Plumbing things up with a laser is my favourite, can’t tell you how annoying it is to have a guy hold a 4’ level on a 12’ wall and yell out! In! No I meant the other in! With this I can just do it myself!
Milwaukee should offer that foam in everything that comes in a hard case, it's just foam they can afford it and it would be such a nice touch over other brands.
I think I missed the outside distance in daylight? I like the unit but until the locator becomes available it would be a tough investment for the high end unit
Great question... Milwaukee introduced the 165' laser detector about 8-9 months ago I recall. It's a must have if you want to use the laser outdoors. Here's my video review of the laser detector... ruclips.net/video/JFZjBYUFz5E/видео.html
Should've come in a PACKOUT case, they missed that opportunity. How "grippy" are those magnets? I have the DEWALT 360 system and have been waiting for years for Milwaukee to release their version.
The magnets are grippy, but able to be released without a little effort. I'm probably going to put this laser in a Packout case encased with Kaizen Foam.

Could this be used to layout a pickleball court, on an existing tennis court when taping it for square? And also to follow the laser for straightness when laying the tape down.
Thanks so much Mark, I really appreciate i! It is hard to lay the tape straight, during a length of 44 ft, with nothing to parallel. Which makes it extremely hard to keep square.
