i like everything about the sign except for one thing. You glued the back on. What if something happens to the lights and you need to get to the lights in the box to repair or replace them? It looks like your only option is to cut off the back of the light. I think 4 or 6 screws to attach the back would be a better option. Other than that, I like the idea. A lot of options for the message: busy, entrance, exit, etc.
Love what you did here. I have been browsing around the internet for a day or two now trying to find Inspo for planning my led backlit sign build. I am looking to make mine weatherproof and to put it out in front of a store on a metal bracket. Do you think this design could be weather proofed with appropriate wood treatment (hella polyurethane), and sealed cracks with silicone? Any info is appreciated. Thanks!
Anyone else think he wanted that red spray paint to go on smooth and stick. When it didn't he figured "What the hell, I will just say I wanted an aged or rustic look".
don’t get why you cut the plexi the way you did, normal practice is to have the material you want to size on the fence side because it’s more accurate.
Oh look, it's for sale!! Help fund the channel and purchase your own sign here: www.etsy.com/listing/610652813/vintage-recording-sign
Hello, what did you cover it after painting? oil? any special?
Great idea giving a second option at the end of the video!

Cool, would suggest painting & sealing box before assembly, Usually we paint white inside when making light boxes as well. Nice project.
Very nicely done and appreciate the extra idea at the end too. Cords and plugs are a thorn in my side in my shop, Small shop, not many outlets.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
nice job...not sure about the distressing thing, but you made a nice video. Cheers!
Good video, Brett! I think the sign is a nice addition to your space.

He's cracked the code haha
What did you put the letters on? Is that plastic?
Yep it’s plexiglass but regular glass will work as well
what is the font called?

I started with Woodglut plans.
What grit sand paper did you use for the plastic glass?
