The City on Seven Hills | On Location in Istanbul

This video presents a short glimpse at the historic architecture and vibrant culture of Istanbul, nicknamed the City on Seven Hills.
The city inherited this name from Constantinople, the capital of the Roman Empire, in which the seven hills were located across the city. Later during the Ottoman Empire, each hill was surmounted by monumental religious buildings, ranging from churches to mosques depending on the era.
Locations include: Blue Mosque, Bosphorus, Hagia Sophia, Kabataş, Kadikoy, Karaköy, Taksim, and Zeyrek Mosque.
