WOW. After watching your video, I noticed how much the weakest one resembled mine and my sons slingshots. I barely put any pressure on ALL 3 and they snapped!!! Thanks man that could have been dangerous.

Good video, I bought one of those cheap treble tube types myself to try them out about a few years ago. I found the 4.5mm metal balls that keep the tube from pulling thru the attachment holes were not big enough and one of those tubes pulled loose and came back at me with a metal ball inside it. It hit hard enough to split the skin on the back of my hand. Never touched the thing again.

I got one of the plastic handled type, before making a couple myself and purchasing one from you, but have not tried it as the triple bands were too strong for a full pull. Shudder to think what could happen with a maximum effort and a release point close to my eye. Destined for the bin.
Sorry to say I ordered one before I saw your video, but in my defense they stated it was stainless steel, but I now doubt it after seeing your tests on them. I guess I'll see when it arrives. 😕 Great test's though,, well done my friend!!!

Watching this one with me cheapo 3 quid ebay catapult in hand and it looks like I've got lucky tbf. It's the one with squared sides and dimples at the top of the forks, seems solid as a spanner.
I've got one of the same, three bands as well, feels solid as a rock to me! Must be luck of the draw, different mixes of zinc in the casting or something. Stuff that a reputable brand would fix through quality control checks.

I really wish they made the triple band one thicker because that one is great and the bands are cheap and they’re super easy to replace, only thing is the frame is weak so after a few hard pulls the thing snaps at the handle.
I can't believe how cheap China produces stuff. Even with their shit wages (and don't forget Vietnams wages are even lower) i still can't fathom how they can obtain the metal, which is probably scrap, melt it down, then produce an item, advertise it and then deliver it a long way over seas for a few bucks. okay so i just got a wrist mounted slingshot. the brand is not on the box or the slingshot itself. the only thing on the box says ( SLingshot ) what is good about it though is the fact that mine is stainless steel and does not bend on the forks.
I made a sling shot with a smaller wire cutters and I used a paint lid opener so I got a bottle opener coming out the bottom and I duct taped it really good and then wrapped it with electrical tape.
OH my gosh, both my brother and i must have gotten lucky.. have the one with black cord on the handle. thank god the elastic was broken when we got it. finally ordered a new tube, looks like im making my slingshot frame instead. plywood is stronger than that.
I've got the little one with the paracord wrap....it works....with light bands, and if you dont hit the forks. I put a huge dent in it on a fork hit with 3/8 steel. I think they're meant for kids

I found that most Chinese stuff off Ebay is complete poo. I gave up with them in the end when I had bought a rucksack and literally the first time I loaded it up, put it on my back and the shoulder straps fell off...Obviously bad for their future business and as you have shown, it can be outright dangerous. If they put simple office rubber bands on them and sell them to shoot mini marshmallows that would be one thing, but full power rubber on such thin cheap mystery pot metal, and this is totally dangerous. At least here in the states you be better off with a 2$ plastic slingshot from the grocery store. I had many of them and with the weak rubber rubber they come with they shoot 4.5mm be's pretty well.
ive got the same catapult as the one in the middle. you cant use them to hunt or kill. they are ok for squirells and small birds but the bands are crap and they arent very comfortable. you shoud only really use them for messing around and shooting cans and paper or cardboard
Cheap pot metal, avoid these unless you're using super light bands and ammo. With some light tubes or thin latex flatbands, these make great cheap BB shooters. 👍

Wow, thanks for the heads up. I just picked up one like the first weakest one and O already had the camo model. I was planning on upgrading the bands but I think I'll stick to the weak ones and shoot using that style where your fingers brace the forks to kinda redistribute that force so I don't end up with a shard of metal in my eye!
I think the Slingshot was not made to be shot with another Slingshot, The Rubber band will never apply that amount of force or stress you did with the cord. I know they are cheap, but they would do the job, know if you test some of the home made and the result will be the same. Sure make one by yourself is a lot of fun.
I think it’s wrong to even sell fragile slingshots as little plinker toys look at how you aim a slingshot that’s a potential eye loss or at least the broken off piece comes smashing back into your face and cuts you powered by the rubber also 😮💨thank you for making this video it really throws off accuracy when your anxious the forks going to fall off and stab you in the Face I would say spend those extra few £’s or $’s for a better built one could save your eye 👍
Where's the before and after test of the oem slingshot you want to compare these knockof too? I do tons of reviews for private labels and one of the worst way to show reviews is by not showing comparisons of the two slingshots side by side. I'll stay tune to your updated videos of a true test by showing side by side comparison of the 3 sets of slingshots. Next time please show with weights and measurements so that its visual. Having a individual pull could be very manipulative. Kind of like acting, you could pretend your pulling hard, but not pull at all, or you could pretend your not pulling, and pull very hard.
I am a new subscriber. This was a very informative video. It is frightening that such thin frames are made from cheap zinc alloy. Scary indeed. Stainless steel and titanium are the only metals that would be suitable for such frames.
