Just got into catapults at 55 years old, was pretty rubbish until I followed your instructions, not just in this video but your other ones as well, and had plenty of practice, now the wifes daffodils have all got their heads missing (big trouble) and I can hit snails on our garden wall at ten yards, (obviously not ever time) but a massive improvement, thank you.
@@MangaGamified i been doing it for about a month now but i need to find the right bands, ive tried some of my mates but neither of us know what bands they are he just got given them 😂
Thanks John. Just started this hobby few months back. Came from IPSC, airguns as well as archery, and I find this slingshooting enjoyable and brought memories from my childhood. Still learning though. Your vids have been very helpful. Big thanks! 😎👍
In my military marksmanship training we were taught to squeeze the trigger while gently exhaling. I’m taking my breath as I draw back, holding while I aim, then exhale as I release the pouch. This is a work in progress, but I’m enjoying the process. Your children are precious angels.
Amazing shooting and lovely girls God bless them. Also seems like a good hobby to do together as a family, and to teach kids the wonderful rewards of focus, consistency, perseverance, and patience. Thank you for sharing.
One of the lessons I learned shooting Archery was the importance of FOLLOW THROUGH after the shot, and I haven't seen it addressed in any how to shoot a slingshot videos. Which is the subconscious tendency to anticipate the shot and relaxing one or both of your hands and/or the body position prematurely, also called peeking. The fix is to hold your entire hand and body positions until the shot hits the target. Then relax. Also allow a brief time interval between the shots. To allow the muscles to recover and your brain to process the prior shot. Don't hurry and instantly begin reloading for the next shot thus blurring all the shots together!
Just found and subscribed. We went to an event last weekend and Zachary Fowler winner of History Channel's Alone season 3 made us each a slingshot. Having fun learning how to shoot them. Thanks for the videos. You wife and daughter sure are good shots! The competition video was the one that came up in my feed.
Got my PPMG two days ago John. Feels great in the hand and shoots awesome. Great tips as usual. We need some of those Pro-shot Gamekeeper shirts.....and hoodies. Keep up the great work.
Perfect advice that will apply perfectly for shooting a recurve bow too. You would do very well with a bow, give it a go. Thanx for great channel greetings from Durban South Africa.
Just a quick comment on the rifle sights bit. The "V" is the bit closest to the eye. The "bead" is the far bit. For most rifle shots, to not obscure your target, bury the bead in the V, so that you can just barely see the bead. Then squeeze. BANG!!
i would be too much afraid letting my kids play with the catapult. but shure you showed them how to handle it safe. great video and beautiful landscape. question....do you ever miss the aim? regards from germany
John, you have adorable children, does the younger of the two shoot already, your older daughter is amazing :) I'm happy I found your videos, back in the day some fifty years ago I was pretty good shot with a wrist rocket as you say "Catapult," now that I'm older and don't work any more I'm going to get back into shooting, I've already learned a lot from your videos, you'll be hearing from me (Bomber) in the weeks to come. Your's in accurate shooting :)
cute kids. when I practiced my golf swing, I let my breath out before swinging as it would remove chest tension. it works well for me while shooting too.
Great video John! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Your daughters are lovely, and you seem like a cool bloke. Sub'd, and looking forward to watching more videos.
AWESOME Video, brother! Its a lot like Archery! Should have figured, that would be the case? Makes sense! I use to try with sling Shots/Catapults YEARS ago, to just frustration. I am an Archer so might need to try this again. It just didnt resonate, for lack of a better descriptive. Cute family you have,Sir! If you are like me...Thank God for good looking Mother?!!! OUCH....did you just hit from way out there? I am in US!!!! Awesome shot! Wait, my wife is laughing..."Dang right! You know its the truth!"! I dont know what she hit me with...but it stings 🤣 Guess I should have learned how to type, without looking at my fingers? 🤣🤣
She is good she has a good teacher, y got mying with a iron sight and good but im shooting low left every time so u recommend with out the sight? Or live it on?
Shooting above 45° you need to add hold over. You just need to find out how much to aim below for your target at different distances/angles. Have a look at some air rifle videos on RUclips, it might make more sense looking through a scope at hold over/under.
You're not wrong saying that it doesn't matter who you are you will get nervouse under pressure, But if you know what you're doing and you know you're good at it, it's not a problem. I once shot in front of at least 200 people with a bowand normally I would be freaking out but since I knew what I was doing it wasn't a problem.
Hi John . What catty does your daughter use and what kind of elastics ? I'm a complete newbie and looking to take up the hobby with my ten year old son. Thanks for the tips :)
quck tip from hunters 1910-1993, heart beats need to be controlled, if You wish to have best shot You should "shoot-at-realease-of-lungs" when Heart Beat are at lowest "bumb". Do not hold breath when release a ball, release a ball when You lealise air from lugs, at this point Your heart bumps will be at lowest point and minimal chance to miss .) I count on Your advice for Canadian Goose for my private expierence of huntings. Your best expierence trade to mine .)) You can try it but all results will be a same, coz we have a "heart beating", good luck n have fun .) if ya confused, heart beat send a pulse over veins to all our parts of ur body "inc a hands", where we holding a weapon, at case not to be controling heart beat we can see "a random" shot, but if compare to realise of air from lungs we can get maximum accuracy, btw, heart beat can be recorded by medicals (if You need an proof), specially effected left hand, does not matter u are left or right handler, it will affect You all, guns held by both hands .))
Amazing accuracy. You are considered as Dangerous guys. How much more if you guys are in the firing range using 45 pistols specially your daughter. Great guys!

Neanderthal Outdoors hi pal it’s really down to what suits the shooter as they both shoot equality as good as each other..... For the right band length also depends on your draw length, check out are video on draw length in the how to section that should help u. Thanks
