    Seems the lighter ban is more resilient and has better stretch characteristics , sounded more tuned and less stressed , Im impressed , you only lost a few feet a second and only working with 8 pounds vs 23 pounds ! I like getting the same results with less work ! 👍👍

    We used to just find a nice branch , 2 rubbers, and leather. That's all there was to making a slingshot. That's all we needed. And if you think about it, it's really not that complicated. If your rubber is too long or too short, it will still do the job.

      The greatest thing about slingshooting is the feeling of improvement each time you shoot. My flights are about 25-50 rounds each, and when I begin to miss a lot, I'll decide I'm through, getting tired or just tired of resetting cans and targets. Sometimes a session will be 500 rounds or more.

    I buy simpleshot's die cut bands. I believe I usually shoot 15mm×22mm. Either the 2and or 3rd band width up on simpleshot site works great for 3/8. Good day Mr., there is a new idea recently among sling shooters that, even for heavy ammo, more thin bands would work better than heavy bands. For instance, a 1mm GZK band would shoot slower than 2 layers of 0.50mm of the same brand, would you say this is true? Have you tested this? Thanks for the video, I learn a lot from your channel.

    What bands are recommended for clay balls? And which caliber is better for shooting feral pigeons - 3/8 or 1/2 inch?

    • @simpleshot
      @simpleshot  5 лет назад

      The band needs to be matched to the actual mass of the clay ball. We group our bands according to steel sizes, so you'd need to convert your clay to a similar weight steel to figure it out. Likely you'd not want more than any 3/8 bandset we offer. 1/2 inch steel is very effective for hunting, but a well-placed shot with 3/8 steel is all it takes.
      Clay balls are a great idea, but they do tend to vary a lot from one piece to the next. It's pretty tough to be accurate when the ammo mass fluctuates. Just keep an eye on that.
