@@charlieberry8056 I don't have any videos but I can help you on 3 different things, that I really know and have experience. For Slingshot hunting, you have to get a good slingshot, with flat rubbers (stay away from the round rubber ones, that are made from steel and plastic, they are not accurate at all, even the most expensive ones) So, get a flat rubber band slingshot, made of laminate wood or any hard wood! Then for ammo, I guess you know what you need. RUclips video and practice, help a lot. The diameter and the weight of the ball, determens the distance of the target. I mean, I would choose a more heavy ball, to shot at close distance and so on. Also the diameter of the ball, is another factor that will determine, what I'm going to shot. If I want to shot a glass window, then I choose a larger than 1mm diameter ball, to add to the power, that can break a glass easier. Be careful, I've seen steel balls, reflected from windows, back to the shooter! Always shot in an angle and don't be close to the target, except it's a Rabbit, that came in front of you! I'm also into blowguns, which is my favorite weapon, but fixed blade knives, is that what I know more about. I have huge collection, but I'm more a user trying always to find the best out there, than I am a collector. I don't "Baby" my knives, they all have been used for long periods, before I make my opinion on them. If I can help you more, please feel free to ask for anything I could possibly help. Thank you for your kind words.
This is an excellent test and he's a brilliant shooter! Really really accurate. However, I think that it would be necessary to shoot many of the same balls before you can determine a pattern. For example, you shoot six or seven 8mm lead, then six or seven 8mm steel, and so on. That way you can see whether there's really a pattern or not. I think that's how statisticians study patterns. However, this may not have been the purpose of the video and it's an amazing experiment nonetheless. Thank you for it.

Excellent video. But IMO needs to be repeated because you can see that because the gel block is not restrained, so when the balls hit the gel block it gets 'jolted', back a bit. This is particularly noticeable with the larger balls. This effectively reduces the penetration so skews the results . Repeat test and have a back stop for the gel. I suspect the larger balls will then show a higher penetration. This will be apparent particularly for the steel balls which have less mass / surface area & hence higher CoD than the lead.
What you said is true. More gel block should also be used, one block for each bullet.Almost because a bullet fired after the previous one could go further due to the channel already dug previously.

Slower speeds mean longer in the air, therefore more effect on gravity and wind. An excellent shot would be able to make allowances... Different materials spring faster than others. Whereas rubber bands spring faster than bows, different rubber bands spring differently too, and changing band size screws the testing... It looks like he should've been looking for the highest weight, for the smallest volume, as guides, and stopped when he found the deepest consistent hit, to find the best momentum... Also, it's only on youtube I heard / saw about lead balls, it's mostly steel or mudballs in shopee
@@MangaGamified as light as possible really. Something like 0.5 band with a 20/15 taper, something like that.
Very good 👌
Cheers John. David
you can also use fishing weights
Hola desde España, cuál es su calibre favorito para cazar y que material prefiere , plomo o acero.
Gran vídeo , gracias 👌
Very interesting indeed. Awesome video
That's sound at 5:09 when the 8mm lead hits 🤣
What about optimal size bands for different weight ammo?
Good shootin wayne pal👍🏻,I wouldn’t be listen to the 7mm mr. Gucci that shoots paper and targets ! In a hunting scenario I’d defo be going your way about it.
Cam silingshot very nice
10:52 That's what she said
I used to use .410 cal lead balls, they were bloody good.
Awesome Wayne in your opinion is 10 mm lead ok for all round slingshot hunting ammo?
Yes
Very fun professional way of doing this Thank you!
Thank you
Wayne's aim is unbelievable.
Good shot, friend. Search forever to see idols
Physics. Excelent vídeo. Thanks for sharing.
8mm lead for me plus find it hard to get a 10mm moulding
WTF YOU MAKE YOUR OWN AMMO?
JUST BUY THEM ONLINE ITS LIKE 4$ FOR 100 8MM
Great shooting!!
should o shot thru chrono aswell great test tho
I have a question. I live in Canada, and lead is illegal to use. What would you recommend
top vedio pal really interesting to see weight and power in CLEAR As CLEAR loved that 👌👌
Very impressive!
Great video, ballistic science and catties together 👍👍👍 top shooting too 😎😎😎😎....
I've been hunting a lot of pigeons using 6.35 mm steel balls, if you hunt at max. 30 meters ,there are pretty good.
Did the ball pass through the pigeon body?
Can you compare the ammo with something from the hardware store, im trying to se what happens if you shoot nuts of diferent mm glued togheter test it against balistic gelatin to make sure you can hunt with cheap ammo
?
gambainhacks you won’t get much cheaper than steel ballbearing catapult ammunition 👍
@@CattyShackHunter oh okey i haven't notice that because im from Italy and here is different. Thank for the answer. Love catapults
How can i write you on private? Because i would like to challenge you when i can get my hand on my catapult? And i also want to came to bassaleg When this ends.
A few years ago Jorge of the slingshot channel did destructive tests using various combinations of nuts washers and threaded rod in different combinations pretty eye opening what he accomplished
What about 10mm steel?
What is your frame wide lenth sir
Be interesting to see results from copper shot and perhaps gold and tungsten.
Glass marbles are also popular.
LNK I’ve looked into tungsten ammunition, it’s a great alternative until you see the price! 😂
@@CattyShackHunter Yes even gold. i think a 200 grain projectile would be worth 1200$AUD. But if you're shooting indoors with a catch-box you wouldn't be loosing them. They would have the best mass to wind resistance ratio.
How many feet per second or meters per second are these balls traveling at??? Weight of the projectiles would be good info also...thanks
Good video always enjoy the catapult content. Very interesting experiement busts some myths
Used old spent 9mm bullets dug out of a range ..out of a good Setup they cracked roofing flags!!
Brilliant demonstration and it goes with what I learnt from Matt Redding, in that 10mm lead IS the best all around ammo for hunting in reality. Thanks for doing the experiments, Wayne.
What if you lubricate your projectile with wax or silicone!
Just wondering!
Would like to see the results of a baby bean shot, as they have been my preferred hunting ammo for a few years
Yorkshire Tom we may look at doing that soon 👍
@@CattyShackHunter if you need any baby beans hit me up 👌🏻
Can someone define "baby bean"?
Diameter?
Shape?
Weight?
Catapult setup:
Flat bands or tubular?
Short draw or butterfly style?
Thanks
@@SpamMusubi308 baby beans are pill or tic tac shaped lead shot, measuring 8x11mm I can't recall the weight and don't have appropriate scales to weigh one, but they're a very capable hunting round in my experience
@@DanGleebowls so in the neighborhood of 1/4" x 1/2" capsule shaped sounds interesting I'm assuming they tumble in flight do they curve left or right? I have some 1/4" round stock cut some 1/2" long sections and play around thanks Tom ATB.
