In this clip from "The Solomonster Sounds Off," host The Solomonster breaks news about the possibility of Ric Flair managing The Miz. He believes that Flair would be better to have "The Nature Boy" manage Dolph Ziggler.
What if, after Ziggler loses another match on Raw, again. Picks up a mic after the match and looks exhausted. He doesn't talk a mile a minute. He says, "I'm tired ... I keep losing ... I'm losing hope, in myself, that I could ever be, the guy; that I could ever be the man ... I think ... I think I'm done." He drops the mic, talks a very slow walk to the side rops to leave clutching his head in disappointment. All of a sudden, Ric Flairs music hits. He posts at the entrance ramp, "Wooooo." Strikes that Nature Boy smile. nd as Ziggler makes his way up the ramp, Flair puts his arm around Zigglers shoulder and they walk backstage. Not seeing Ziggler for another 2 weeks on tv. Then Flair comes back on Raw those following weeks, cuts a promo about being the man, and at one time losing his confidence. A time when he didn't believe he could do it. And he needed someone to remind him of who he was. And that's where Dolph Ziggler comes in. Ziggler comes out to new music. A 1000 dollar suit, shades and his smile. And a new main eventer, under the tutelage of Ric Flair, is born.
But, that's just me. And WWE doesn't give a shit about what 1 fan has to say.
yea dolph needs a chance
"You got to make your own way" is bullshit exhibit A: Zack Ryder
Dude sucks. He's nothing more than a career mid-carder, get over it.
don't they get that nobody likes Miz??? they should let Flair push Ziggler.
Far as Flair managing someone, put him with his daughter Charlotte from NXT. AJ and Paige can't carry the Divas division by themselves and will eventually need a new character(s) to work with. By putting Flair with Charlotte, it gives Charlotte a huge rub and more eyes on her and gives the Divas division and title more importance just by having Ric Flair involved. Plus seeing AJ and Flair having a crazy off would be fun.
Far as Ziggler, he doesn't need a manager. Just let him do his thing and he'll be fine. Also, I think people are overreacting when it comes to his position in the company. WWE just doesn't have anything for the guy right now, so he just jobs for the top guys. He's like Kofi Kingston right now: WWE knows he's talented and all, but since they'd rather push guys like Sheamus,Barrett,Rusev,Cesaro and Wyatt, all Ziggler can do is just put guys over. Ziggler will get another chance at the top again, but people have to understand that not ALL of their favorites can be pushed at the same time.
Miz OVER Ziggler? Are you fucking kidding me.. Jesus .
Dolph Ziggler is the perfect guy for Ric Flair to manage. wwe could do with Dolph what tna was trying to do with AJ Styles and make Dolph Ziggler the modern day nature boy.
Great points Solomonster! Ziggler and Flair is an awesome match in my book! To repackage Dolph a bit, I would pass the Nature Boy moniker down to Dolph. Flair took the moniker from Rogers so it's only right for another guy to take that over. Nature Boy Dolph Ziggler sounds good to me. He has the in ring ability and swag to back it up. If WWE wants Flair to manage Miz so bad, put together a stable with Ziggler, Miz, and a couple of other guys . Have Dolph be the top star and have Miz in a secondary role in the group. Have Flair cut a promo saying he's done it all in the biz, now he wants to take guys who have't been used right or got lost in the shuffle. Ziggler and Miz could be the new age Flair and Tully swag wise and go from there. And NO i wouldn't call the group the Four Horsemen, but u could use elements from it!
This is the PERFECT time to pair Ziggler up with Flair. The Miz doesn't need Flair, or a manager at all. All Miz needs is a microphone to be a dick.
I know WWE never saw much in Ziggler anyway but the guy deserves better than what he's getting right now.
That's a great compliment when Bob Holly says that Dolph Ziggler is the best talent that WWE has today, and Ric Flair asks to work with him.
A guy like Dolph Ziggler doesn't need anyone managing him. He's a great overall performer. Ziggler Is his own man.
His promos suck.
I bet they don't suck as much as your username does. PIPEBOMB!
Omer Farooq Sorry I''m not uncreative enough to use my own name for my username. We can't all meander through life with dull minds. PIPEBOMB!
WILL YOU PLEASE SHUT THE HELL UP!
umad?
What's so special about Ziggler that makes him so deserving of a push? He's good at selling and ok in the ring. That's pretty much it. Maybe if his name didn't rhyme with 'Adolf Hitler' he'd be slightly more successful.
He's lot better than being ''ok'' in wrestling. Maybe you don't know much about wrestling if you seriously think he's just ''ok'' in the ring. By the way what the fuck did you mean by ''maybe if his name didn't rhyme with Adolph Hitler'' your ignorance amazed me in a good way. Adolf Hitler joke? Really? Are you that low? You should know better than that. He's better than your hero i believe.
Dolph Ziggler Guy "He's better than your hero i believe."
Is he better than Kurt Angle, Undertaker, Austin, Scott Hall, The Rock, Vader, Stan Hansen, Scott Steiner, HHH, Sting, DDP, Eddie Guerrero, Jericho, Cibernetico or Macho Man?
The answer is NO!
The more internet geeks and verteran wrestlers stick up for Ziggler, the more butt hut WWE gets and when they get mad, fan favorites get punished. Also, TNA FANBOYS: This video might hurt your feelings so don't watch.
huh? TNA has fans?
James Waddell Made my day right there.
I've honestly never liked Dolph Ziggler. I know I'm going to get tons of hate from everyone, but I am one of the few that doesn't bow down to everything Ziggler does.
why cause he not A nine foot tall bald red kneck who like to hurt people?
Meh, you were honest and didn't just ramble off hate. I can respect that.
He's a poor man's Mr. Perfect.
The Miz was a laughing stock before and after his big title run. He does decent work in the ring, but every time he's on the mic I want to punch something in the face.
Too bad there are no more heels or baby faces. The Miz's natural obnoxious face and voice on the mic would make him a good heel.
Dolph is great....great sellar of moves the best at it actually......he just needs a few better move sets and WAY BETTER FINISHER
Putting a heel Miz with Flair could work.
Miz is way better on the mic than Ziggler (who's ok, but still missing something on the mic).
The thing with Miz is that no one will ever take him as a legitimate threat as a singles wrestler. He just doesn't look touch.
But that's where Flair comes in. Miz did his best work with Alex Riley, when he was a heel who depended on someone in his corner to interfere.
Yeah, he's been booked like shit for ages, but the narrative is easily changed when "Flair has turned Miz's career around.
I can quite picture him being elevated to give Bryan someone new to work with for a while before dropping down again, and the two have an interesting story. I can also picture Flair doing his manager work, just as he did in evolution, giving Miz a little 'extra leverage' when he has the babyface in a Figure Four.
Don't be too down on it. Miz can talk, Bryan can work, Flair can entertain.
As for Dolph...I don't think he needs Flair. He just needs to be booked better. He looked like a star that night Del Rio and him did the double-turn. I reckon he CAN cut a good promo on his own (he cut a great one for WWE.com, so it's not like he has to do those fast-talking promos which have no emotion, just needs to go in another direction). He's obviously trying to be different with his current promo style, which is cool, but it just isn't connecting with the audience.
Oh, and he needs a couple of moves that actually look like they hurt, including a new finisher (ideally the Super Kick, which can be hit from anywhere).
He also needs to stop those rapid punches as well. I get that he's "showing off", but if you hit your guy with 10 furious punches on the top rope, then hit him with rapid-fire punches to the face when he's in a headlock on the mat, and you still get beat.....what does that say about how hard you hit?
Anyway, for all those complaints, they're pretty minor and he still puts on a great match, and he doesn't need Flair to fix any of it.
Dolph Ziggler is boring and I don't understand why people like him.
Dolph is good no doubt about it, but his finisher is Garbage.
As opposed to Jericho's code breaker? Mark Henry's strongest man slam? It makes Bundy's old avalanche splash look devastating. Edge's spear (skinny guy tackling someone, oooh intense!) Wade Barrett's bull hammer? Khali bomb? Even Cesaro's neutralizer? A lot of finishers in WWE are inherently weak in execution and depend entirely on the seller to make it look good.
StarryStarryNocturne I hate the bullhammer, but i hate his foward AA (aka Wasteland) WAY WAY worse.
knockout punch,
Heres why the whole "you gotta make your own way" argument is complete and utter bullshit. Based on various talents who've world for WWE including some former creative writers. Basically Vince and to a lesser extent HHH make up their mind about you from the jump and then has the booking reinforce it. If Vince doesn't see money, then you won't be protected and usually put in stupid shit or relegated to a jobber. If you have what Vince or HHH wants, you'll be protected and pushed. Doesn't matter if you aren't getting over or you are, its still about what they see and want. Thats why it took so long for them to see the light on Daniel Bryan. The crazy pops and decent merchandise sales weren't supposed to happen because Bryan's too small and isn't marketable, thats why even with the title. WWE reminds WWE fans of that every chance they get. While guys like Roman who are still green and unproven are protected and kept quite a distant from stupid shit and horrible booking. Roman Reigns is still more valuable to WWE than Daniel Bryan despite Bryan's success.
I agree with you 1000% on this issue. I am a huge Ziggler fan, and no one can tell me that Ziggler is not a top 10 talent, but they shit on him every chance they get and the guy still brings it. Ziggler will only get the shot and recognition he deserves, if the crowd and the ppl get behind him like they did with Daniel Bryan. I'm sick of John Cena, Batista, and Randy Orton and others like them, that bring nothing to matches anymore. Ziggler, Daniel Bryan, Roman Regins and Bray Wyatt all deserve a huge push, and hell I'll even throw in the Usos in that. WWE politics is killing the stars that fans really want to see
"you make you own push" Zack Ryder is the perfect example of why that isnt true he could have been a solid mid card act, he got himself over then got booked like an idiot!
9:55 damn😂😂
the show off with the jet flying, limousine driving, kiss stealing, wealin' dealin' son of a gun. sounds like a great match to me
I always felt that Triple H doesnt like the Miz and the Miz was more a Vince McMahon guy.. so if its true, it feels weird that he wants to put Ric with the Miz.
Ziggler is a way better choice to pair the Nature Boy with than the miz... uhhhggg..
And Ziggler should get an Archer-like gimmick.
Just saying, it would be hilarious to watch.
Not to mention he loves Archer, so he'd pull it off perfectly.
The best time for the miz was when he was a tag team with r truth.awesome truth was the best back then
1:52 You told the future, Solomonster.
Genius!! Rick flair starts the four horsemen again staring with dolph, u would dig that.
that sound cool ziggler miz macentyre an big e as the enforcer.
You tell'em Solomonster!
tna has the best roster........Austin aires somoa joe booby roode james strom etc
Oh Really 😂
finally someone speaks up and stands up for ziggler thank you foryour opinion
Ziggler deserves exactly where he is at right now. The guy is a 10 year veteran almost in the WWE, has zero mic skills, no catch phrase, still has the bad name and weird look, he doesn't understand that running around the ring really fast kills any sort of story telling, he has the most boring move set of anyone on the roster.... all he does is sell above average, but even then most of the time it looks ridiculous. What does he expect?
His pops come from sympathy from the fans, not because of any interest in his matches, but rather they feel bad for the guy because he's been there for a decade and is jobber status.
other then mic skill that all wwe fault not his.
Steve Austin said it best, you can't expect or rely on the WWE to perfect your gimmick or give you all the right things to say. Ziggler should've been thinking about this stuff a long time ago. And the WWE has repeatedly told him to slow down in his matches, he hasn't listened and that is likely why he's still in the midcard.
Sympathy? Isn't that how the Yes movement started?
SOO TRUE
Flair would overshadow him. Let Flair stick to managing Charlotte.
I'd team Ziggler up with Tyler Breeze.
Work Dolph Ziggler and Alberto Del Rio towards the IC belt and keep Flair somewhere else. Ziggler has been damaged by being overshadowed before.
Bring The Miz back as the second Real American with Colter (and potentially Summer Rae as a female member). Bang: you suddenly have a cracking tag team which could chase the straps (or, indeed, another thought - a Christian/Tyson Kidd face Canadian tag programme). You have a potential programme for the US title (because 'murica) and, if Summer Rae is there, you have a Divas title run sitting there. Imagine Swagger with the ankle lock on Paige; great late 90s image.
Ziggler. Great talent IMO. Could be a solid upper mid card talent like Jericho or RVD but the WWE seem hellbent on just jobbing him out. If it's for what he said about Orton (which was the truth BTW) then WWE need to ease off and start using him properly again.
How the fuck is Ziggler anygood. All I see when I see Ziggler is the poor man's Billy Gunn combined with the poor man's Bobby Eaton (as if the regular Billy Gunn and Bobby Eaton were main event talent)
two things have hurt Ziggler -
1) Speaking out publicly against Randy Orton.
2) Lawler's heart attack on Raw. A week or two afterwards Lawler basically said Ziggler hit him too hard and fast and boom heart attack.
Always liked Dolph. TNA, imo, started to really get good when Hogan left and Dixie wasn't on the show. It was about the wrestlers and the MVP thing was kinda refreshing. Now though they are fucking that up.
So....if it's the wrestler's fault that they get injured, can we blame Cena and HHH for their injuries? Hey, let's go blame Daniel Bryan now too! Plus, Ziggler's better than Orton on the mic so as far as I'm concerned, why not give him a push?
I've never liked the WWE produced talent. Guys like Bryan and CM Punk who had a name on the independents before coming over always seemed as though they were going to do well, but I had no clue who Ziggler was before I saw him in WWE. (Yes, I know he was in the Spirit Squad.) As soon as I saw the Ziggler gimmick, for whatever reason I didn't think too badly of him which was rare, and in the years since he has really grown on me. I have always gotten a bit of a Y2J vibe from him. To me he has it in him to amount to that level of success in the company.
At this point I'd like to see TNA get picked up by a new owner/new management/bookers & agents. Then see a blast from the past with guys jumping ship and see a resurgance of some "real" competition. wwe was at its best when they had to get off their ass and put on a show. they've gotten plain fucking lazy since the demise of wcw, and also also factor in going public, the "pg era", and Linda running for office.
By the way I disagree with the idea that Miz can't get beyond "that level" I think he suffers the same thing many like Dolph do, I think he needs to break loose from the same chains that have been tying down other underutilized talent(real talent). let him be an arrogant asshole again, part of the reason he's picked up this perception that he's "not that guy" is because they tried to babyface him, THATS the guy he's not.
If Dolph Ziggler wants to be more successfull, He should use the Superkick as his finish
Just because he's Ric Flair doesn't mean he knows talent. Ziggler has had chances and it has never worked. He's what 34, yeah he could wrestle till he's in his early 40's but it's just to the point of no return. He wont ever be the top #1 guy in WWE, and that's ok, it doesn't mean he's not good just not the best.
I going to be truthal for with you alot of people think I'm the A evil devil worshiping guy an all that shit an I Am in my way but I actuly love art an the claissical example how that connect with wrestling?
read the next comment.
I'm glad you brought up the "make your own push" bit. Ryder and Ziggler seem to be blacklisted for doing just that. The hottest Dolph ever was was as a heel with AJ and Big E. I can't see that happening again anytime soon on his own. Flair might be one of the only ways to change that.
Objective, insightful and honest. A million times better than those dweebs Don Tony and Kevin Castle.
This is like Zack Ryder all over again. I thought Ziggler was great when he was IC Champ, I thought he was a great mid card wrestler. I don't get all this overwhelming support for him to be in the main event. Don't get me wrong, I do like Ziggler, but I just don't see him as a main eventer. Not everyone can be a main eventer. There has to be mid carders too. When his career ends in WWE, he should go to ROH. I think he would really shine there, imagine the matches he could have with AJ Styles or Christopher Daniels, but I think all the fans should do what it says on his tights and just get over it. He will never be a main eventer in WWE.
If you diss Dolph Ziggler but like Rick Rude your a hypocrite Big Time
I Couldn't agree more with this...its total bullshit what they've been doing with Dolph on top of losing Cm Punk....if one night on Raw have Ziggler come out and shoot about how he's been screwed over for the longest and have him quit and say goodbye to the fans in sad way...but than have Flair come out and tell him "I will help you get to the top so fuck the system" the crowd would go nuts oh yeah make sure its in Ny, Philly, or Chicago that would be a great reboot for Ziggler
Dolph Ziggler somehow reminds me of a young Shawn Michaels or Ric Flair, Him showing off and backing it up gives off that vibe of "I proof every week That I am better than you" and people love that, he can get over with the fans even if they know he is going to loose his match.
I like Dolph Ziggler and its amazing he still gets the reaction from the crowd but he's nowhere near good enough to be that arrogant. I know its his gimmick but he has a chip on his shoulder the side of a building.
Regarding people making their own push you're completely correct back in the day (here we go) you could pull a promo out of nowhere but now its so scripted. How the fuck can you show initiative when everything is detailed to the letter ?. It's stupid.
I like Dolph but I think it's already too late.
Also, isn't he like 34 years old?
Almost similar to Piper wanting to take the reigns of McIntyre, WWE shot it down. Which is a god damn shame...
Problem with miz is he have no in ring talent good mic skills.
Problem with Dolph is he have good in ring skills but no mic skills.
just make flair work with Dolph and Miz both can learn from each other and can actually get over
Ziggler needs a name change and a character overhaul. Then put him with flair. Maybd like flair is creating his own star. Just a thought.
Ziggler doesn't need Flair at this stage of his career. Just better booking.
I am TNA fan and I agree with solo on TNA which is something I always tell people
The actually believed that they would push guys if they grabbed the brass ring. But then I saw how they treated Ryder who like him or not got himself over and they crushed him for whatever reason.
Ziggler's in ring work is pretty damn good, and he does entertain me when hes working in the ring, but yes their is something about his promo's that bother me, and the only thing i can try to explain about that statement is his voice...yes his voice...that high pitched voice of his just comes across to me very non threatening, and also makes it hard for me to take him serious.
Dolph Ziggler is the same age as most superstars that have already made it. Yet they push him like he's the future
Maybe Ric flair could be the new RAW GM and feud with HHH or someone else like a heel
my problem with dolph is pretty simple, the man needs to stop overreacting when ever he gets hit... the opponent will hit the man with a chest slap and dolph is doing flips around the ring like the rock getting a stunner, who the hell is going to take someone like that serious?!?!!?
HOW MANY TIME DID Triple H GET HURT TO MUCH / AND WHEN HE COME BACK HE BIG STAR FROM STAR. WHEN OTHER GET HURT THAY STAR OVER A JOBER
I think that whole feud with John Cena was just poor booking, you had the wwe champion at the time take a back seat to Cena and the Rock.
Well, they are already teasing a Shield break-up, especially now that Rollins has turned heel
randy orton did a radio interview and ripped kelly kelly calling her a slut etc etc and ripped other wrestlers like mark henry and khali
ziggler didnt do anything wrong in his interview compared to orton
Ziggler doesn't need Flair just a little more seriousness to add intensity.
am I the only one who heard the crowd pop for Ziggler when Raw was in the UK?
Never undeerstood whats supposed to be so great about Ziggler.
Maybe ziggler should try the indys Like roh or dragon gate to at Least
" You make your own push " Zach Ryder
Well said solomonster. Well said. .
Evolution needs flair
I don't get what WWE has against Ziggler. From what I could tell, he never has said anything too badly against the company. He spoke the truth, which is refreshing so what's the problem?
Its his ego. Simple as that.
metamofia But he didn't say anything too bad. It sounded like he just wanted to prove to Triple H that he made a mistake in backing Orton. Then again, I haven't heard too many of his interviews, just that one.
Ziggler does deserves better!
Hone his craft
Dolph Ziggler's character is just boring...but IF they let him be himself, like they did with Punk, they could make him a star. I've seen him in interviews, and if he was like that with a mic in his hand, I'd buy that, and I think the fans would to.
