It was soooo racist though. I remember when I was away at basic training(no entertainment while I was there) and when I graduated, my family came and saw me. My brother caught me up on WWE and told me about Cryme Tyme and I imagined two big white guys that looked like Repo Man. When I finally got home and saw these two black guys who dressed like thugs, spoke broken english and stole things as their gimmicks, my jaw dropped that WWE would stoop that level. They still do racist crap, but I don't think they ever top Cryme Tyme.
Cryme Time was their own gimmick, it's not meant to be racist... Shad & Jason are back together now as Crime Time. What killed them was partnering with Cena as CTC, they only had 2 to 3 showings outside of dark matches, then Shad had an outing in the locker room and quit.
Having listened to Dew's interview with Jericho I am actually glad he got released because it will give him a chance to go out and be who he really is on the Indy's so WWE can then bring him back and make him a star
Most of these guys should do well elsewhere, I can see McIntyre making it back to the WWE at some point, he's been looking great on the indies lately. Hawkins might actually be a good fit for the new TNA if he wants to go there, Brodus would probably do well overseas if he amps up the intensity a bit, and Bourne should do well back in ROH, or Lucha Underground if they continue to grow. Camacho might do well in Japan, especially if they acknowledge that he's the son of Haku. Jinder Mahal always looked like he could be a solid talent with a little more experience, and JTG could be a good addition to just about any promotion if he turned down the gimmick a few notches, the guy has no lack of charisma, seems like he would be over as a baby face in the right setting. Hopefully, Aksana decides to retire.
interesting a little over a year on to see where all these guys are: jtg just some small time indie appearances, camacho working for tna, curt hawkins working for gfw and making some appearances in tna as part of their kinda invasion angle thing, brodus clay in his comfort zone as ec3's bodyguard on tna doing a decent job, drew mcintyre getting a good push in tna, evan bourne just signed for njpw and doing good work in roh, yoshi tatsu back in njpw just getting back into training after a broken neck, jinder mahal working for inoki's promotion igf over in japan. most of them doing pretty well which is good to see. guess those comments about dixie licking her lips weren't too far off, half of the male wrestlers released now appear on tna
For me, I was most surprised by Drew McIntyre, Curt Hawkins, and Evan Bourne. I always thought that maybe we would get a Major Brothers reunion between Hawkins and Ryder. I always thought McIntyre would break away from 3MB and take back his throne as "The Chosen One." And I was waiting impatiently for the return of Evan Bourne. I was a fan of all three and those three cuts were the most surprising for me.
I'd like to know when "We've got nothing for you" becomes "OK, I have something for me" they don't go into the business to wait for someone else's ideas, good or bad; and they're not actors waiting for their agents to get them auditions, they're wrestlers first and "entertainers" second.
I'm sure that the likes of Zack Ryder,JoJo,Brad Maddox,Vickie Guerrero,Hunico(Sin Cara/HuniCara),and Santino Marella are the next folks to be Future Endeavored(and were avoiding the axed phone calls). And the Funkasaurus gimmick had pretty much killed Brodus Clay's career(since Clay had a lot of wrestling talent).
jojo have not seen her since seasonone of total divas back in 2012. she is not on wwe tv. she is no doubt going to get release. kurt hawkins was not used at all post 2011. last thing wwe did with kurt hawkins was in 2011 when he was tag team with vance archer in 2010- early 2011. than last three yrs he was jobber to mid card talent on dark matches.
larry hammer how dare spread these lies!!!!!!!.............he was much closer to 400 pounds! lol j/k man but yeah when you have a guy that size you pretty much shoot him in the back of the head the first time he's walking out there when he gets the dancing dinosuar gimmick.
Bzaafied the Ferocious depends on which version of Japanese wrestling you watch because one of them had hulk hogan be champ and hogan (verbally) pissed on the wwe championship when he won the japanese belt
jtg and shad crime tyme was entertaining and good tag team in 2006-2009 for 3 yrs as team. then shad got fired. also curt hawkins was not wrestling on tv in longtime. After wwe creative broke ryder and hawkins up in 2009. then last five yrs hawkins was jobbing on dark matches.
It was never said whether Naomi was supposed to win the title at WM, but she was going to go against AJ. I'm not sure if you watch Total Divas, but there's a scene where Trinity is talking to Jon about it. She doesn't say whether she was supposed to get the title (and of course she wouldn't! That'd be a spoiler!).
In my opinion TNA does not need to sign anyone, that got released, Tna alfeady gets shit own enough for Past Signings of Former WWE talent. (Which I don't get ,because when Burger king hires former Mcdonalds employees, that's doesn't make the person a Mcdonald's reject, Go Figure)
Actually Marc Harris didn't do anything wrong, that botch was Naty's fault since she let go of the sharpshooter before AJ tapped out, that's why he didn't call for the bell.
I think the problem somehow probably stems from Triple H looking pathetic when he fought Taka Michinoku many years ago. I think it was supposed to elevate Triple H to a whole new level and it ended up doing the reverse at that time. Taka ended up looking extremely good that match whilst Triple H looked mediocre at best. We all know that Vince doesn't like to see "little guys" get over the physically bigger performers. It also stems from them not wanting to put over none home trained talent.
Matt sydal was already in TNA once. If anything, going back to tna would do him the world of good. Their X Division isn't where it used to be and Sydal could be the focal point of the X Division. As far as McIntyre goes, he's been in the USA for so long, i think he may be okay. He was on the main roster before the chosen one gimmick as a baby face. He didn't get over, he went back to fcw and then redebuted as the chosen one. Its a shame he's gone because he could of been a main event level guy given a chance.
TNA doesnt mean anything anyway. Its a good awful promotion but they need bodies and someone like Sydal who has a moderately good following but exceptional ability can shine in that environment. If rumours are correct that TNA are going to focus more on their x division, Sydal has a chance with the lack of bodies in that company to make a name for himself and get over. Before he was just another x division guy. Now, he could be the number one baby face in their x division. Its the best choice he has. Whats he going to do? Go back to ROH?
tthomaselli2 probably for 2 reasons. 1 its not like todays refs are the ones we grew up with, hell do we even pay attention to who the refs are anymore? they can probably get away with just 3 refs and no one would notice. the other reason is back when all these cuts happened is about the time WWE stopped making all those crapy movies. They put millions of dollars into the WWE film project and they lost their ass on it so im sure that was a reason that most of these cuts took place.
Zaizai115 Maybe because their are more talented guys on the roster to push that actually have more main event tools, it's not like Kofi or Big e have real Main event potential at this point in their careers and Mark Henry had his world title reign and upper card spotlight a few years ago and is now a old veteran in his 40's that is better suited putting young guys over that's not a case of racism, this is 2015 not 1950.
Nope, actually Bo is great as a heel and Miz has finally hit his stride with this A lister gimmick, plus Rose (while stuck with a goofy character) is a very talented wrestler and mic worker. Look him up as Leo Kruger.
I love how there's always a reasonable explanation when WWE releases its talent. But when it's TNA, it becomes another source to fuel the company's demise. Ah well...
Drew was talented... But when he was the "chosen one" this theme was more over than him. I see multiple people on numinous sites say that Drew never drew a dime as IC Champ. Yet now everyone says he is super talented? Personally I liked him. They could have done a British babyface gimmick on him. He would have got support from the UK for sure and he would have been taken seriously!
I remember Drew not having this IWC love and support back when he was IC champ. I specifically remember the WM 26 MITB match where he climbed the ladder by himself and the crowd did not want him to win AT ALL.
tonware Yeah Drew wasn't getting consistent crowd reactions when he got that IC title push in late 09/early 2010, I think WWE should of noticed that the heel thing wasn't getting fans to care, and his promos were not very good, they should of turned him babyface and let his charisma/looks and wrestling ability get him over but they continued to work against the grain.
Truth be told... I believe the cuts happened simply because Vince lost an ass ton of money as far as shares goes... nearly $700 million and like all jobs especially if you know about the business world, you know that when your Boss losses lots of money, then here comes the cuts. Unfortunately, the Low-tier wrestlers had to pay the price for it.
Still boggles my mind to this day about Evan Bourne being so stupid. To my knowledge, the punishment for smoking ACTUAL pot in WWE is a fine, not a suspension, as well it does not go as a violation against the Wellness Policy. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. But if this is true, why on earth would anyone smoke synthetic pot, if they could easily just pay out a small fine if they were to get caught with the real stuff? Synthetic pot is really bad for you by the way and gives a shitty high, so it confuses me even more.
It wasn't that many wrestlers. It was just 9. Plus, I view this as simply cutting the fat and nothing else. Brodus Clay has been in the roster long enough and still hasn't made an impact like Sandow, Ziggler, Ryback, and etc. Aksana messed up badly. Therefore, she wasn't worth saving. Drew McIntyre, Jinder Mahal are part of the 3MB which the general casual audience doesn't like. Curt Hawkins, Camacho where on the bottom of the totem pole. They been with the company the longest. In the WWE it is the opposite. The one's with seniority are the first to go if they didn't move up. Evan Bourne he messed up. He gets into an "accident" when he's suspended. If Teddy gets inducted to the Hall of Fame, he has to schedule a tag team match first. For old time sake.
Or a match where he schedules someone to face THE UNDERTAKER!!!!
AAAAAND now 2017 HOF inductee TEDDDDDYYYYYY LOOOOONG!
He did!!!
I will never forget Cryme Tyme, such a good tag team and they were really funny.
It was soooo racist though. I remember when I was away at basic training(no entertainment while I was there) and when I graduated, my family came and saw me. My brother caught me up on WWE and told me about Cryme Tyme and I imagined two big white guys that looked like Repo Man. tonware true. WWE has always been and still is racist.
Wwe is racist and tna is more equal oppurtunity
Nick Perkins as much as I would agree, tna is actually no better in the locker room handling racism.
Cryme Time was their own gimmick, it's not meant to be racist... Shad & Jason are back together now as Crime Time. What killed them was partnering with Cena as CTC, they only had 2 to 3 showings outside of dark matches, then Shad had an outing in the locker room and quit.
Crazy how Drew and Jinder are on the current roster and are both former world champions
The sad part is Evan Bourne actually endorsed Adrian Neville back before he was signed when he was still PAC in an interview with wwe magazine.
Having listened to Dew's interview with Jericho I am actually glad he got released because it will give him a chance to go out and be who he really is on the Indy's so WWE can then bring him back and make him a star
He's back!! :)
That’s exactly what happened lol
Surprised Evan Bourne didn't get released a long time ago.
Most of these guys should do well elsewhere, I can see McIntyre making it back to the WWE at some point, he's been looking great on the indies lately. guess those comments about dixie licking her lips weren't too far off, half of the male wrestlers released now appear on tna
Yoshi Tatsu was doomed to fail... from the streak in his hair, no promo skills and worst of all his Nintendo entrance music.
+Swampert Rulz literally nothing he said was racist you moron
jack muir Ignore my old self lmao
Yoshi Tatsu had the probably the best run during his time inbECW when they were on Syfy
Yoshi deserved a lot better.
I agree, Teddy Long for next years HOF! He deserves it.
For me, I was most surprised by Drew McIntyre, Curt Hawkins, and Evan Bourne.

I'm from over, 7 years in the future. If you remove the global pandemic and the world war, you'll be really happy. Ha.
@@Am0ment0fB No kidding! Thanks for the reminder!
@@thatdamnbradley unfortunately, wrestling is at one of it's lowest points ever. So, yeah. Ha.
His last match in WWE was on RAW in August of 2012 against Ryback. His one appearance on RAW and he jobs to The Big Guy
I hope every one of them ends up in tna and tna makes a huge deal of all of them.
They will.....
Drew McIntyre is in ICW I think
why? so they can pass around TNA's already meaningless heavyweight title?
Flash forward 2 years, Drew McIntyre is now TNA World Heavyweight Champion.
Does that still mean anything really?
+Alistair Mclean It does, because now the WWE is trying to bring him back.
+ferrgar09 really? how do you know? I hope he doesn't come back he deserves better
He's NXT Champion now
Now a top heel on Raw
I'd like to know when "We've got nothing for you" becomes "OK, I have something for me" they don't go into the business to wait for someone else's ideas, good or bad; and they're not actors waiting for their agents to get them auditions, they're wrestlers first and "entertainers" second.
i liked the funkasaurus thing to but what to mention is that just like everything hornsewogle touches it dies.
I'm sure that the likes of Zack Ryder,JoJo,Brad Maddox,Vickie Guerrero,Hunico(Sin Cara/HuniCara),and Santino Marella are the next folks to be Future Endeavored(and were avoiding the axed phone calls). Yoshi Tatsu, Gail Kim, Lena Yada... I guess Asuka and Nakamura are a huge step to WWE.
Clay they turned a 300 pound guy into a dancing fool and wonder why he didnt get over ...the day the Crapadactals took his theme song it was OVER !!!
steiner8burgerston Rikishi is a good reason why they shouldn't have clowned Clay
Oddly Rikishi went from 400 lb dancer to the guy that ran Stone Cold over and then his career died.
steiner8burgerston LOL...I thought that's who the poster was referring to as well (Rickishi)
larry hammer how dare spread these lies!!!!!!!.............he was much closer to 400 pounds! lol j/k man but yeah when you have a guy that size you pretty much shoot him in the back of the head the first time he's walking out there when he gets the dancing dinosuar gimmick.
1:23.; What did Solomonster mean by "It was evitable..."?
It was bound to happen
When Drew McIntyre first came I thought he looked like The Brian Kendrick
JTG faced Santino and he acted as if had poisoned by venom from the cobra move lol. That was his final match it was superstars
Spliting CrymeTyme was the worst thing for them
If you're not Samoan, you will never be a Japanese heavyweight champion.
Think about it.
Bzaafied the Ferocious depends on which version of Japanese wrestling you watch because one of them had hulk hogan be champ and hogan (verbally) pissed on the wwe championship when he won the japanese belt

haha

The wrestlers are great but the product sucks ass
What happened to Darren Young
I still don't understand why the WWE would let a referee go.

It's
because you got others that don't go on twitter and bash veterans like Jimmy Korderas.
JTG is a good ass wrestler. i wonder why they never used him? oh yea he's black. hopefully he goes to TNA.
Stupid, ignorant comment, maybe because their are other black wrestlers that are better? like Kofi Kingston, Mark Henry and Big E.
Winter Man and since when have those wrestlers been relevant? I wonder why they aren't being used as well? Oh yeah, it cause they're black
Zaizai115 Maybe because their are more talented guys on the roster to push that actually have more main event tools, it's not like Kofi or Big e have real Main event potential at this point in their careers and Mark Henry had his world title reign and upper card spotlight a few years ago and is now a old veteran in his 40's that is better suited putting young guys over that's not a case of racism, this is 2015 not 1950.
iLL MiX Remember the Nation of Domination bruh?
J Bo yea what about em?
Adam Rose, The Miz, and Bo Dallas need to be let go. They represent everything that sucks about WWE now.
Nope, actually Bo is great as a heel and Miz has finally hit his stride with this A lister gimmick, plus Rose (while stuck with a goofy character) is a very talented wrestler and mic worker. Look him up as Leo Kruger.
Miz is never gonna go anywhere. He's bigger than ever now
I love how there's always a reasonable explanation when WWE releases its talent. But when it's TNA, it becomes another source to fuel the company's demise. Ah well...
What wwe style? Oh you mean hey you know all that kool and crazy stuff you did do not do it in a wwe
this sounds like triple h burying
listen to chris Jericho's podcast with drew McIntyre. it explains a lot of his decent in the wwe.
Jtg was fired in 2014? I thought he was fired way back when cryme tyme broke up after all that's the last thing he did that was worth a damn
Drew was talented... But when he was the "chosen one" this theme was more over than him. I see multiple people on numinous sites say that Drew never drew a dime as IC Champ. he was preety boring as a heel - cut the same promos time and time again
He was Scottish
tonware Yeah Drew wasn't getting consistent crowd reactions when he got that IC title push in late 09/early 2010, I think WWE should of noticed that the heel thing wasn't getting fans to care, and his promos were not very good, they should of turned him babyface and let his charisma/looks and wrestling ability get him over but they continued to work against the grain.
i agree he was nothing special as a heel
Truth be told... Too bad Cena didn't get release, .... cuz he sucks
He
it sucks people lost their jobs but most of them werent doing anything.
The sad thing is that TNA has no money to give these WWE jobbers.
Still boggles my mind to this day about Evan Bourne being so stupid. To my knowledge, the punishment for smoking ACTUAL pot in WWE is a fine, not a suspension, as well it does not go as a violation against the Wellness Policy. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. cm punk is singed i bet you beacas he is in wwe makeovers in wwe ,com
Gggg
I honestly don't think the way wwe treat it asian tallent is fair if they did this to black or hispanic there be A national uproar but cause it asian no one care it all very weird to me.
dwhhg
More black wrestlers have been released in proportion to their white counterparts on the roster.
Okay.
Who's JTG?
Exactly.
Wendy G Kennedy he was member of crime tyme him and shad were crime tyme tag team debuting in 2006-2009 for three yrs. than shad was fired around 2011. jtg was demoted to midcard to lowcard jobber till his release.
MrDivalover1 Okay, thanks
Wendy G Kennedy ur welcome
I wonder how much input did triple h have in all of this.
