Hi Everyone and Welcome to Promethean Sewing Machines, where I am unashamedly rebelliously creative when it comes to taking old forgotten sewing machines and bringing them back to life in a beautiful way.
    Meet my new project:
As I finish putting together this lovely green Singer 66, I'm seeing what modifications I can make in the cheap import hand cranks to make them more solid. Hope you like it!

Such a beautiful machine and thank you for sharing your tips on how to get a modern hand crank to work better! And what fun to get a "hand cameo" from the husband😊 It is so always lovely to hear you talk about how he supports your work.

    She is absolutely beautiful 🪡🧵
Nice improvements on the hand crank. Wish someone would make a proper one someday 🤔
Thank you for an other inspiring video 😊

Great job again! Another lovely soft pastel colour, I like the more minimal look too. The hand crank works, and they are convenient. Just not made like they used to be. Excellent fix.

I am totally impressed. Like everyone who isn't doing it, I of course have thoughts on how to improve those mediocre cranks. I'll keep those thoughts to myself and say thank you for the significant improvements you made!

Thank you for this video! I have one of these cranks and was puzzling over how to get rid of some of the rattles. You've saved me lots of time and effort puzzling the thing out. The first one I got was so poorly made that it would crank part-way and then not at all. I got a refund and bought another and the second one runs as smooth as silk. I'll have to check, but I have an idea that the top gear may look a bit different from yours. Again, thank you for another great video.

You should have seen me wandering around Lowe's looking for the unknown "something" that might work ☺️

@@prometheansewingmachines As much as I like my local hardware store and as much as I like socializing with the people who work there, the fact is that I'm really happy to not have to go through bins and bins of washers to figure out what might work. Like I said, you saved me that time and effort and I really am grateful.

Honestly, the imported poorly made hand crank is way too light too flimsy.
