In fairness, Rob Collier is a good actor, he did an excellent job of playing the part of Thomas. If people hated him for being Thomas, then he is effective in portraying the role.
I must've watched all seasons & episodes of DA in about 1 1/2 weeks averaging 6 episodes in a sitting. It's totally addicting. I want more & am not ashamed of it.
Nicolayye she's annoying af. I hope she sees these comments and realizes how obnoxious she is and how disruptive she is.... stereotypically American, embarrassing us in front of all of these world class actors with her selfish and self centered behaviour
I'm glad Rob James-Collier explained Thomas the way he did. I'm getting sick of people dismissing him as "evil." He may have tried to get rid of Bates but he wasn't responsible for his going to prison--the former Mrs. Bates did that. Miss O'Brien is every bit as conniving as Thomas and has done far worse (causing Lady Cora's miscarriage with a bar of soap in season 1; Trying to destroy Thomas in season 3) but I don't see that description being applied to her.
I love the show, too. Actually, all the romances are good. Among them are Lady Mary with Mathew, Anna and Mr. Bates, Lady Edith falls in love, too, Lady Sybil, who is the youngest, outspoken, and has Tom Benson. It is such a cool drama. The best of them all is Cora, a.k.a Elizabeth McGovern. She is the glue that holds the house. I love that.
If I'm being honest, I did crack a laugh when that lady just jumped to say brendan is extremely hot (which I quite agree myself ) but after a while it just got a bit too much. I also didn't like Thomas at first, but then he grew on me and became a favourite. And not to mention Rob is one of the funniest actors. I love him. People don't realise that the characters are separate people from the actors. It's fiction.
I love how down-to-earth the cast is. I don't think they were too bothered by the lady in orange, it doesn't look like they take themselves too seriously. :)
Anderson should be able to relate. He is a Vanderbilt. Many in his family had homes (including just for the summer) in America larger than Highclere Castle/Downton Abbey. His great grandfather's niece actually followed a similar path to the fictional Lady Cora. Consuelo Vanderbilt was the Duchess of Marlborough via an arranged marriage for money.
He can relate to the sinderby not to the crawleys. I am old English and French aristocracy and to quote lady Mary in her best line. Your lot buys it, our lot inherits it.
What was the point of this? Half the cast there barely spoke. Elizabeth hardly talked and the one playing Daisy said one sentence. There is no depth to this - nothing hardly learned about the show or filming it.
“We can’t wait for the new season to start!” Are you sure about that? (I love Downton it gets very painful though) “IM A GAY PREDATOR!” I love James And how dare she insult Thomas
Because Of Anderson Cooper and this episode I went to Netflix watch the 1st episode got suck right in such a great show Thank you Anderson PS got my son and girlfriend into it too
Wow everyone's commenting on the lady in orange I wonder if she knows what people have said on here. By the way love James Collier he plays Thomas brilliantly, you hate him one moment and the next in his corner loving him.
George Edward Stanhope Molyneux Herbert, 5th Earl of Carnarvon, was the backer for Howard Carter, the archaeologist who discovered Tutankhamun's tomb in the Valley of the Kings.
Speaking as an American, the lady In orange is Rude and Obnoxious. I think someone should of told her to be respectful or shut her mouth! That was so disrespectful how she was talking.
I am disappointed that Anderson Cooper wasted time with the trivia contest. He has several cast members from Downton Abbey on his show, and instead of using all of the available time talking to them he squanders the opportunity in favor of two "super fans". What a waste of time!
Okay, wow, when I saw all the comments about the lady in orange, I STILL wasn't prepared for how incredibly rude and annoying she is! Why mention Brendan Coyle when he wasn't even there? How about telling the cast that WAS there how much she enjoys watching them?
I'm friends with several brilliant people in America. Yet this lady manages to make all of the rest of them look like idiots and seem like fools. What a tick!
She acted rude and offended many viewers. If I behaved like that, I would rather people tell me so I can reflect on it and fix it rather than allow me to be so rude.
Im British living in America and ive never found the American people to be uptight..(Infact it is us Brits who are always (falsely) accused if being uptight and stuffy)..There is a difference between being light hearted and being ridiculous. She tipped the scales.
I'm disappointed in Anderson Cooper. I thought he was a more serious news person, and he comes across as pretty close to Ricky Lake in his show. I didn't think he was this light and shallow. I know he doesn't need my approval, and everyone loves him, so that's just my opinion.
She is not an American woman. She is a member of an English Noble Family in the 1920's (at this time in the series) who would change her clothes six times a time.
I just wanna say that the lady in the orange is incredibly ANNOYING....and honey, you'll NEVER get Brendan Coyle. Coyle's hot? James-Collier has modeled for 2 Argos campaigns; ask Coyle how many catalogues he's been in.
The Americans help me see the virtues of the English 😂😂 - that line from the show really fits with the woman in orange
"When I'm with your mother, I'm reminded of the virtues of the English."
"But isn't she American?"
"Exactly"
In fairness, Rob Collier is a good actor, he did an excellent job of playing the part of Thomas. If people hated him for being Thomas, then he is effective in portraying the role.
The audience 😂
WHY does everyone hate thomas????????????? He is so perfect! Him being the way he is makes the show more interesting!!!!!! He is my favorite!
Your Ms Orielly then. 🤣👍
Mine too!! ❤️ love him
Everything about Downton Abbey is wonderful. And now these interviews, watching them in March 2022, awesome. Love it all ❤
I must've watched all seasons & episodes of DA in about 1 1/2 weeks averaging 6 episodes in a sitting. It's totally addicting. I want more & am not ashamed of it.
That woman in orange really needs to shut up cause she is definitely not impressing anyone and was being pretty disrespectful.

Why did O'Brien leave so abruptly? Was there a salary Dispute or something?
@@adorable3817 Bates whispered something about soap in O'Brien's ear and she was stunned. She took off after that.
@@tina_s7508 lady flinthshire offered her a job, and the actress only has a three season contract
What can I say?! This orange lady's behavior proves that Rob is an incredible actor and did a great job. And of course she is a little bit crazy.
If you watch closely you will notice how Rob James-Collier does not really laugh at all at the orange woman's jokes. I enjoyed that highly.
That woman in orange clothe was the most realistic depiction of simpletons.
I did notice that. She was too much.
😂😂😂
I'd just like to say that Brandon Coyle is NOT hot.
@@michaelcanestraro2849 He is actually.
Rob is absolutely awesome!
Okay is the lady in orange making anyone else throw up in their mouth?? SO annoying and rude.
OMG.... Rob looks very different ... very handsome here & not evil at all...lol....

I'd be so embarrassed to be American if I were in the same room as that woman in Orange.
The women in orange is a pain in the neck! What a gob! 😨
She's way thristy. Calm down, girl!
I love how down-to-earth the cast is. I don't think they were too bothered by the lady in orange, it doesn't look like they take themselves too seriously. :)
Hmmm...they were mannerly and rose above her narcissistic and cloying behaviour...appalling‼️ 💯🇨🇦
Maybe just Rob 😂
"I love shooting the scenes with Mrs. Hughes. Carson and Mrs. Hughes. " Now that I'm Season 5, I can tell why.. hehehehe

I almost didn't recognize the actor that plays Thomas! He's actually very good looking and... nice. hahah!
I need 6 more seasons of this
That woman in orange is a typical rude and loud American. She offended Rob James-Collier. Talk like that about a not present actor
She's shite.
Anyone else notice how many times American finance has to bail out this sham aristocracy?

Omg yes so unnecessary
Yes, aweful! She's irritating 🙈😜
how could that lady hate someone that gorgeous.
She got way too absorbed in the show and not reality.

I’d pay to watch that
Yes please!!!!
What was the point of this? Half the cast there barely spoke. Elizabeth hardly talked and the one playing Daisy said one sentence. There is no depth to this - nothing hardly learned about the show or filming it.
The annoying woman in Orange spoke more than Daisy 😟
Why would you expect any depth? It’s American daytime television meant for simple housewives…
Rob has had enough of that woman by the end of it :/
“We can’t wait for the new season to start!”
Are you sure about that?
(I love Downton it gets very painful though)
“IM A GAY PREDATOR!” I love James

Thomas is beautiful!
Another Orange shirt here. 🤣 jk
The woman in orange was a bit out of hand. Attention does go to some people's heads. Honestly woman you slowed the show down, it runs on a schedule.
I love downton abbey!!!!!!!
I am FAR too invested in this show
Poor lady in orange is probably just very excited and trying to have fun.
This must have meant a lot to her.
It was fun
That Free Bates woman needs to get over it,and is disrespectful to Rob James Collier.
She must be a very political person who overreacts on everything.
it's a tv show, and thomas is a character. i don't think rob took any disrespect.
brittyn It look like he did take offense, didn't you see him get up from his chair and his castmates try to calm him down, she was being beyond annoying
Serena Menard
he was joking! you think he's that uptight about his character?!
brittyn No he's not uptight, but he is human and will react as anyone would when someone is being obnoxious and egging him on like that rude woman
And then suddenly Downton Abbey cast interview turned almost into Jerry Springer Show...
THAT LADY IN ORANGE

Okay That 'Free Bates' woman and orange is annoying and rude the cast is not impressed either. Not even Brandon Coyle
That lady in orange probably lives alone with 18 cats!
