Allen Iverson’s absurd total of 9 steals in this matchup tied a career-high. Although a Lakers’ loss, Kobe produced yet another timeless gem for the archive. He wore Jordan 6 “Chrome” Lows, one of many memorable kicks donned during his sneaker free agency season.

Daang A.I.'s energy was unmatched in his early years
Iverson was amazing. He wasn't gifted with size, but heavily made up for it with heart and talent. People like Shaq and LeBron are great athletes, but owe their success to their size. Iverson was one of the FEW select players that could compete at an MVP level without having a big body.

His games keep getting better and better. Just look it up. Nick Wright, Jason Whitlock etc. They all bashed him towards the end of his career until he passed

I was watching this on ESPN. Couldn't believed that Fox missed that opportunity. Great game all round. The commentary by Sean Elliott was brilliant. One of the best quotations, "Kobe Bryant is so good, he makes your eyes water." Wasn't that profound?

Iverson shed a couple tears and said he loves the relationship they had on the court, and within the game of basketball but he wished he had a friendlier, brotherly thing with kobe, :/. they were like 2 sides of the same coin. AI only put in the insane work in game, and sacrificed his health over and over and over because he didnt put in extra work anywhere near kobes level. Now lebron could play til hes 60 with these soft calls. AI was just gifted and loved playing sports, thats why hes my idol lol. What could have been..

A.I. was a beast on defense. 3 steals titles in the NBA and 2 DPOY awards in college. Had he stayed ad PG his whole career he would have went down as an all time elite defender.

AI doesn’t get enough credit for his defence. Yeah he wasn’t much of a stopper 1on1 but he was so incredibly disruptive and kept opponents on their heels all night moving the ball. He was such a persistent threat to steal the ball. Considering how small he was, he really made up for his shortcomings.
The problem with playing passing lanes is, it's risky. A.I. didn't give much effort defensively otherwise, so he really wasn't a good defender.

What a great shot blocker like dwight howard would do to bother shots when he wasnt even in the direct vicinity of guys is exactly what Iverson would do to ball handlers because of his ability to steal the ball and he doesn't get a lot of credit for that.
