I've watched through the series and the finale hurt my heart, but I still think this theory holds a lot of weight still. It's said that our pearl was a gift from white, which is where her base color and gem placement works in. However, we see that her original outfit had all four diamond colors worked in. I think the our pearl has personality traits from all the diamonds, like represented physically, though a lot does come from white (organization, can't be wrong, salt, etc.).
After the movie we see that pearl’s outfit is the predetermined outfit for all pearls and then they can be customized by their owner so I think that after p diamonds broke volleyball they gave her pearl but it is still unknown what was white diamonds pearl before pink broke volleyball

But Gem Position surely means nothing for the White Pearl theory. Many, many gems have that same position obviously. And our Pearl is less white more of a cream-orange colour.

I think that your theory about our pearl is correct! I was thinking that, if Yellow and Blue have their gem on their chest and their pearls have their gem located in the same place, then our pearl heve belonged to White Diamond because of her gem location, personality and because White Diamond has her gem on her forehead just like our pearl.

Because in the scenes showing Pink Diamond with her Pearl (not her original Pink Pearl), she's rocking a blue/yellow/white/pink colour scheme. So I'm not sure if our Pearl was once White Diamond's, but yet created by all the diamonds for Pink Diamond. I think the reason why the other diamonds(blue and yellow) didnt recognize pearl being white diamond's is because white diamond never had a pearl in the first place. Maybe white diamond didnt open the pearl surprise thingy(like that one scene in the movie where pearl comes out of a shell) and kept it . This is a theory I can totally get behind and not cause it happens to go with my Pearl was originally White Diamond's pearl. LOL However, from the evidence we have, it actually does make sense. We've seen that not only do the pearl's share characteristics, but so do members of their court. There was another theory video that mentions that, in terms of Blue Diamond and her court's color scheme (which I'm gonna take further) - members of Blue's court are soft spoken, usually have a color scheme of blue, and have blue eyes. We've seen this with both Blue Diamond herself, as well as Sapphire and Lapis. There's also the case that members of Blue's court also have extreme bouts of emotion - Blue's crying, Lapis' anger, Sapphire's anger. Actually, Blue shows her disdain and anger as well, which makes me think this court is calm until motivated to anger; our Ruby does the same thing and you can technically consider her part of Blue's authority as she was assigned to Sapphire. The same can be said for Yellow Diamond, though I'm 100% set on this cause Jasper wasn't originally a part of Yellow Diamond's court. However, Yellow is very methodical and logical - so is Peridot and to an extent, Jasper, as they have one clear purpose. Jasper also has the same color scheme for Yellow's court (yellow and tan), while Peri is a complimenting color of green. Pink Diamond's court is another one that's iffy - you would think because of Rose and the Earth Amethysts, that Pink was jolly and happy, but I don't think that's it. And the reason being is Jasper. Jasper was an original member of Pink's court and also came out of the Beta Kindergarten on Earth and Jasper is not what I would call jolly. As a theory, I guess we could consider Pink Diamond as being manically happy - like happy to be gutting out the planet. Like a kid with a magnifying glass that's burning ants alive. With all THAT said - I think we'll discover that Pearl's original outfit (cause remember, she had a tendency to pull a Leeroy Jenkins in battle) was more of a white color scheme. BUT I also have the theory that Pearl was temporarily Pink Diamond's pearl BECAUSE of her efficiency, order, and organization. That not only explains why Pearl also has hints of pink in her outfit (and Space Race and Back to the Barn show her with the Pink Diamond insignia), but why she's unable to even mention either Pink or White Diamond's names.

i've noticed it too, the two pearls we've seen that directly serve the diamonds have similar traits and attitudes. when he diamond is sad, blue pearl is just as sad, maybe not at the loss, but for the pain blue diamond is going through. to be quite honest, if it wasn't for the fact that blue diamond has shattered gems, i feel she'd probably be one of the more reasonable and easy to sway of the four diamonds.

This adds up with another theory concidering that her colors match white diamond better than pink diamond. She got rebooted three times. 1 creation 2 when given to pink and 3 in the scene with the crystal gems beeing set to a younger age
I mean this probably doesn't mean too much since all the gems are tinted some way and not to mention, a flashback, but back when Garnet was telling how she came to be (with the flashback to Pearl and Rose invading Blue Diamond's court), interestingly, our Pearl was tinted in a mostly gray tone, compared to Rose who was all pink. I mean this was probably done to show some kind of contrast or whatever, but still, I find it interesting that they would leave it like that.

Okay I know I’m 4 years late so most likely no one will see this but here’s what I have: pearl is white diamonds pearl, pink had her pink pearly but broke it so white diamond replaced pinks pearl with hers, since she can control the pearl no matter what type of pearl they are. And pearl doesn’t remember because she’s been controlled by white diamond the whole time she has served her. I know in the show pink pearl says she’s much older than pearl but that’s just what SHE thinks. Also based on her color palette when she reformed I have another theory. She was probably the first pearl to be in service of a diamond (that diamond being white) and was up for grabs hence why she has all the diamonds colors. And whoever could control her keeps her and white being able to do that made pearl white diamonds pearl.

i'm sure pearls do reflect their diamonds, as in the movie when Pearl reforms after being poofed by the rejuvenator, her gem asks Greg to specify customization options.
I also can see why those pearls were specifically picked as the diamonds' pears for a reason, most of them matches up where their diamonds diamonds were center on their bodies which could indicate that it's a rare quality to find on a pearl
I think that White's Pearl and Pink's pearl(pearl) was exchanged. lol because Pink's hair is curly and White's pearl is curly too and also Pink's pearl's(pearl) hair is pointy and Pearl is also "Perfect" like White Diamond... I think that your theory about our pearl is correct! I was thinking that, if Yellow and Blue have their gem on their chest and their pearls have their gem located in the same place, then our pearl heve belonged to White Diamond because of her gem location, personality and because White Diamond has her gem on her forehead just like our pearl.
A thing that I've noticed is that, even though white kept volleyball under her control she was doing it to keep her safe and kept happy, knowing what pink did must've traumatized her(lol it did) just sumthin to think abt
So you guys know how when a gem is created in a kindergarten, they use the diamonds essential essence? Well I think that's what they did with the Pearl we know and love. Because in the scenes showing Pink Diamond with her Pearl (not her original Pink Pearl), she's rocking a blue/yellow/white/pink colour scheme. So I'm not sure if our Pearl was once White Diamond's, but yet created by all the diamonds for Pink Diamond. I had originally thought they had to get rid of the OG Pink Pearl because she was too much like Pink, encouraging her to do mischief and such, she wasn't acting how a Pearl was suppose to.. But that theory got shut down in Steven Universe Future when they introduce her as Volleyball and we learn her backstory.

I think what happened was white reset her pearl and gave her to pink, and then took and controlled pinks pearl because white's pearl (our pearl) is alot more on track and organized, and they wanted to keep pink in line (like they said in the show)

I have just noticed that pearls clothes that we know very well on the show have the colours blue ,yellow and pink and her main color is white.... this might mean something like yellow for yellow dimond, blue for blue dimond, pink for pink dimond and white for white dimond. this might mean something or just colors Rebecca suger had jut put on pearl.

I would like to see a video where the two theories are discussed:
1. Pearl belonged to White Diamond.
2. Pearl belonged to PINK Diamond. She her spacesuit has a pink diamond on her chest and Sardonyx has pink diamonds on her shoes. She would also have access to Pink Diamond in order to not draw attention to her shattering.

I think the reason why the other diamonds(blue and yellow) didnt recognize pearl being white diamond's is because white diamond never had a pearl in the first place.
Maybe white diamond didnt open the pearl surprise thingy(like that one scene in the movie where pearl comes out of a shell) and kept it .
After pink pearl having a crack she mind controlled her and gave pink diamond her pearl surprise thingy.
This is a theory I can totally get behind and not cause it happens to go with my Pearl was originally White Diamond's pearl. LOL
However, from the evidence we have, it actually does make sense. We've seen that not only do the pearl's share characteristics, but so do members of their court. There was another theory video that mentions that, in terms of Blue Diamond and her court's color scheme (which I'm gonna take further) - members of Blue's court are soft spoken, usually have a color scheme of blue, and have blue eyes. We've seen this with both Blue Diamond herself, as well as Sapphire and Lapis.
There's also the case that members of Blue's court also have extreme bouts of emotion - Blue's crying, Lapis' anger, Sapphire's anger. Actually, Blue shows her disdain and anger as well, which makes me think this court is calm until motivated to anger; our Ruby does the same thing and you can technically consider her part of Blue's authority as she was assigned to Sapphire.
The same can be said for Yellow Diamond, though I'm 100% set on this cause Jasper wasn't originally a part of Yellow Diamond's court. However, Yellow is very methodical and logical - so is Peridot and to an extent, Jasper, as they have one clear purpose. Jasper also has the same color scheme for Yellow's court (yellow and tan), while Peri is a complimenting color of green.
Pink Diamond's court is another one that's iffy - you would think because of Rose and the Earth Amethysts, that Pink was jolly and happy, but I don't think that's it. And the reason being is Jasper. Jasper was an original member of Pink's court and also came out of the Beta Kindergarten on Earth and Jasper is not what I would call jolly. As a theory, I guess we could consider Pink Diamond as being manically happy - like happy to be gutting out the planet. Like a kid with a magnifying glass that's burning ants alive.
With all THAT said - I think we'll discover that Pearl's original outfit (cause remember, she had a tendency to pull a Leeroy Jenkins in battle) was more of a white color scheme. BUT I also have the theory that Pearl was temporarily Pink Diamond's pearl BECAUSE of her efficiency, order, and organization. That not only explains why Pearl also has hints of pink in her outfit (and Space Race and Back to the Barn show her with the Pink Diamond insignia), but why she's unable to even mention either Pink or White Diamond's names.

+Nevaeh Dawa I had a theory about this. I was thinking maybe the Rose Quartzes were meant to kind of be like a Pearl or at least meant to serve a simmilar position to that of a Pearl. In addition to being a fighter to keep Pink Diamond (the likely newest Diamond) safe.
i've noticed it too, the two pearls we've seen that directly serve the diamonds have similar traits and attitudes. when he diamond is sad, blue pearl is just as sad, maybe not at the loss, but for the pain blue diamond is going through. to be quite honest, if it wasn't for the fact that blue diamond has shattered gems, i feel she'd probably be one of the more reasonable and easy to sway of the four diamonds.
That's a good point. One has to wonder if Blue Diamond was always this sad or if it became more indicative of her personality once Pink Diamond was shattered.
i'd imagine she wasn't just by how pearl, ruby and sapphire have talked about her. something else i've noticed by the flashback, blue diamonds court was much bigger with more gems around to serve her where as now she is down to just pearl being somewhat close. true she still has those that are around, but it's only her pearl she actually keeps close and i'm wondering if it's because of sapphire betraying her that she doesn't want her court that big anymore? again i know we haven't seen much of the court of either diamonds but still. am i making sense? I mean this probably doesn't mean too much since all the gems are tinted some way and not to mention, a flashback, but back when Garnet was telling how she came to be (with the flashback to Pearl and Rose invading Blue Diamond's court), interestingly, our Pearl was tinted in a mostly gray tone, compared to Rose who was all pink. I mean this was probably done to show some kind of contrast or whatever, but still, I find it interesting that they would leave it like that.

I have 2 theories:
1. Maybe she was made to serve White Diamond but ended up coming as defective, seeing how she has several colors and a LARGE OVAL gem instead of a SMALL SPHERE gem. Because of her defects, White Diamond rejected her and left her alone. Pearl was then an *"ownerless pearl"* as she stated a handful of times before. After hearing about "The Rebel Rose Quartz" and "freedom" she decided to let Rose take her in. Technically Rose could've just been a close friend or ally.
2. Rose could have been her actual owner. "But what about her gem placement??" How many quartzes have been looking and representing Pink Diamond completely? One? Fuc-
So on Pearl's space suit, it shows a pink diamond insignia on the very front. Pearl wouldn't exactly serve Pink Diamond, BUT a high class gem under her court. Rose could've been a high class gem under Pink Diamond. (hence her giant dress, have you seen another quartz wear a dress for combat?)
The the height of the diamonds gem on their body represents how powerful they are. White diamonds gem is place on her forehead, the highest placement. Yellow and blue are equal but still higher that pink. Pink is on the stomach or belly button, and yellow and blue are at the chest.

Her hair is pink. Her eyes, however, are *blue*. When she blushes, she blushes *blue*. Her outfit is both *blue* and *yellow* [even moreso in the past]. Her skin is *white*. And yes, her gem position matches White Diamond, not Pink. But her personality … it mixes Blue Diamond's emotionality with Yellow Diamond's stoicism [and salitness].
So, what if Pearl was a gift from the other 3 diamonds to Pink, with White, Yellow, and Blue each contributing their own touch to the design of the Pearl they gave to Pink?

Okay I know I’m 4 years late so most likely no one will see this but here’s what I have: pearl is white diamonds pearl, pink had her pink pearly but broke it so white diamond replaced pinks pearl with hers, since she can control the pearl no matter what type of pearl they are. And pearl doesn’t remember because she’s been controlled by white diamond the whole time she has served her. I know in the show pink pearl says she’s much older than pearl but that’s just what SHE thinks. Also based on her color palette when she reformed I have another theory. She was probably the first pearl to be in service of a diamond (that diamond being white) and was up for grabs hence why she has all the diamonds colors. And whoever could control her keeps her and white being able to do that made pearl white diamonds pearl.
