I'm glad I stumbled across this interview. Florrie is one of my favorite and most consistent mudlarks whom I follow on Instagram. It was nice to find out a bit more about her. I did order your book from Amazon some time ago (thank Richard Hemery). They are saying It will be available May 13 in the US.
This is cool, Jason! New sub and crossover from Si’s, Nicola’s and Man with a hat channels. 61 year old grama sends you greetings from Illinois, 1 mile from Lake Michigan. Greetings from Illinois!
Well, done Florrie. Very informative and entertaining. You have some great finds. Any olde coins that bother you just send 'em to me LOL. Move over Nicola..
Fantastic! We really enjoyed this, Jason. We love to follow Florrie on her Thames adventures on Instagram - she is so knowledgeable and lovely - definitely one of our favourite mudlarks! xx
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm interviewing various mudlarks because they all have wonderfully interesting finds and stories. Watch this space for more videos...
Enjoyed this very much! Always loved Flo Finds on instagram especially her advise on some of our beads was great :) I see where 'the bead string' comes from, that some mudlarkers keep!!! Can I ask if the colourful things in the bowl are marbles? Lovely video Jason, hope the mudlarking time will be a bit longer in the future.
I'm glad you liked the video. The colourful things in the bowl are all beads found in the Thames. They were given to Florrie and Cecilia by another generous mudlark.
I know you through Nicola and si find. Enjoyed that tour, but I have a wee doubt. That Garnet you displayed. Well, I'm not sure it is a garnet. Tell me is it very heavy for its size? From the bit, I saw I thought that it was more than likely a piece of ruby tin ore.
@@mudlarkingwithjasonsandy801 To find out yourself. Put it on a piece of aluminium and put hydrochloride acid on it. The acid and aluminium will react giving of hydrogen which will react with the tin oxide. and forming water and a thin coating of grey tin on the outside. It will not hurt it if it is garnet. and the thin layer of tin if any will wipe off.

The large garnet is quite heavy. I think Florrie has had it inspected and confirmed that it is a garnet.
