14:14 - this soda can being hidden has ruined Sushi-Bot's life
"The customer is always right, or at least that's what we tell them. We're lying. The customer has never been right once in their lives!" I felt that one in my customer-service destroyed soul.
"We're about to be friends. Prepare yourself!" --Dan 2024
"We don't have a trash can around here... I guess I am the trash can around here"
Now that's the spirit!
"I am thou and thou art I and such " lol
14:32 My growing horror as it dawned on me that Dan didn't notice the trash hiding behind the chair.
This game either needs some indication that there's trash beyond the physical presence of trash, or a system that prevents trash from being placed somewhere that's blocked by another physical object from the one viewpoint the player gets.
So that quote about the customer being right? The full line is "the customer is always right in regards to taste." So if a customer wants a certain flavor, or want something removed from the meal, they're right. But if they demand an unreasonable discount/service or complain about waiting; probably not right.
That is not the full line but a later revision. As far as I know, the earliest version is by Swiss hotelier Cesar Ritz and goes "Le client n'a jamais tort" ("the customer is never wrong").
@@meej33 I can see why it would have been revised XD
@@SentaeJohnson Maybe he was referring to a specific customer? You know, some specifically fastidious Swiss guy who is ALWAYS RIGHT. The Michael Jordan of customers. And then people took it to mean any random customer, like the Ben Simmons of customers.
@@meej33 I'll bet that guy never had to work his own front desk.
One thing they don't advertise is that "the customer is always right" refers to a specific tier of customer service, reserved for celebrities, influencers, and big spenders.
3:45 …. “Is the way that you’re making me feel tonight?”
43:32 hmm, now I wonder who Sushi-bot's main persona would be
Definitely Metatron.
12:10: If I fell asleep in a robot restaurant, I would not want the robots to honk at me, and doing so would not make me stay longer. It would make me feel unwelcome.
36:00: "Maia, most people treat me as some combination of mascot, delivery drone, and trash can. They don't want to be friends with me."
2:35: Sushi-bot does not drink Joe or any other beverages.
5:50: Well, _I'm_ going to assume they fall on the floor, because that sounds funniest.
16:05: "My compliments to the chef, but your sushi was only good because of the ingredients you bought from me."
22:55: I'm pretty sure it's your third day, but you're only open for like ten minutes at a time, so who knows.
36:45: Hot take-if a game needs to sell you on the mechanical benefits of making friends before you know anything about any potential friends, something has gone wrong. You don't learn what Persona Social Links do for you until you've already seen some of your character's friends chat with him.
I 100% LOVE the sushi-robot but, I am at 3:41 and I cannot get over the decision to make the sushi-bot have a single wheel that cannot explain it's turn radius.
5:17 "I guess I am the trash can around here" - I love it
this makes me think of diner dash
Awn, I used to love that game growing up!
2:37 I saw "Brew & Browse" and got excited, then I realised it was a coffee shop.
15:59 Yea, there was a barely visible to camera piece at the right table.
39:23 Practicing tuba while on the loo sounds like a terrible everything.
40:15 Mood.
45:58 So much for being an "open book". It's hobbies, for crying out loud.
41:48 Ah, the reasons this is funny... they even highlight "coffee".
This game is a great example of, it's not my kind of game at all but I did enjoy watching Dan play it for this video
Absolutely. Dan's enthusiasm & humor go a long way. I find myself not just watching, but smiling my way through content I'd scarcely have paid attention to left to my own devices. And sometimes I find genuine new interests that way. This channel really is a treasure.
the customer is always rice.
dangit dan...didn't even get 10 minutes into this episode before i went to steam to buy it
Another game for the wishlist, it looks so cute, cozy and relaxing.
Definitely a nice game to spend some downtime with
At 29 min in I bought this game, while watching. Thanks for sharing this gem!
"I am thou and thou art I and such."
Okay that caught me off guard LOL
The customer is always right in matters of taste is from what i heard the full quote
No. We have already gone over it.
Not according to your manager, it's not! Though somehow, "the customer is always right" never applies to price or staffing levels or anything else that affects management...
No...
just...
no...
I mean, a client might want a little extra of an ingredient or to remove another and that's reasonable, but I would kick out anyone asking for something very specific or someone who wants to change the recipe just because they think they're right... as well as anyone mistreating the waiters because they didn't like the food.
@@timothymclean Why should it affect price? I would look really bad entering a restaurant and trying to haggle the prices, if I don't like it, I don't buy it, period.
Why would affect staffing levels? who am I to tell them how to do their work? If I don't like it, I won't ome back.
Why would it affect management? they have a process and changing it on the whims of every client, when there are dozens or even hundreds, would be a disaster. Open your restaurant and see if you are in the mood for the eternal whining. Again: if you don't like it, don't give them money
"Costumer is always right" only applies to service for VIPs, their whim is law because that's exactly what they're paying for: a small fortune per serving.
Sushi-bot isn't much of a Sushi bot... He's more of a waiter bot.
Omg the casual, thrown out there persona social link quote absolutely killed me. Laughed out for a solid minute. XD
Also love that Sushi Bot has a coffee as well. Can they drink/eat? The don't seem to have intake components so maybe it's just for the vibe? Lol.
I want a machine that makes nothing but sushi all day..
How much sushi could you possibly need?
@@timothymclean Let's see... If I do the 5 plates shown on the Conveyor Belt a day, that's 15 Rolls a Week. 60 Rolls a Month. Roughly 1,800 Sushi Rolls a Year. About 100,000 Sushi Rolls in a Lifetime! I might be dead, but I'd enjoy it a lot! 🤣
@@Jersa7 If it's making sushi all day, it's gonna make a lot more than five rolls in a day. It only takes a few seconds to make those five rolls, after all...
@@timothymclean I know that. I was referring to having my own machine... And that's how much sushi I'd need. Plus, it's only 5 at a time, you push the button and get 5 more.
@@Jersa7 Then it's not making sushi all day, as the original poster described.
Cute and pretty game, I'm very tempted to pick it up if it's on switch.
Also surprised that you didn't summon Carrie with all the coffee goings on 😜
Edit: it's on xbox, wishlisting.
The befriending "mechanics" part made me think of Persona 4 Golden, This game is like a mix with parts from Overcooked (so far without the stress), Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley, Moonlighter and Persona 4. Super cute
My Sims... kingdom, comes to mind. that one is difficult.
Hey Dan, you're currently my lunch break entertainment!
I'm really curious about the rainbow dishes. I saw them come up but I don't know what that mechanic means.
From mechanical context, I'm guessing it means it would satisfy any flavor requests.
@@timothymclean that's what I think too, though the icon makes it look like it only does fish/sweet, which is odd. Maybe needs a tweak visually to cycle through the colours?
😅It is so alien to see a useful Claptrap. But at least the Dansorna version talks as much as the original.
Another game I want on Switch.
i love sushi
I'm not a big seafood fan, but is sweet with Fish something people normally eat? seems like a weird flavor combination.
I don't think I've had sweet fish myself (aside from the Swedish ones), but sweet and umami is hardly an unusual taste combination.
Sweet + spicy + savory/umami is a pretty good flavor combo.
@@timothymclean I mean I made a steak once where the rub had a little bit of brown sugar in it and that hint of sweetness was good, but I've never heard of anyone doing that with fish. their both Umami but I don't know if the flavors blend as well together.
Don't forget that many people eat shrimp in sweet dishes 😊
Sushi rice is normally prepared with sugar, so ...
This is SO cute!
I`m ashamed to admit that I watched the first dialog with the mayor and the bot swapped in my head.
I was always thinking: the mayor looks more robot-like than the sushibot. Must be a humanoid model, but what a weird design...
Somehow I also didn`t saw the beard.
"doesn't put pressure on people" and "stardew effect" are not what I would call synonyms x) The clock in that game makes me feel very overwhelmed very fast, on top of the social needs of every character in the game, and the shop quests, and the community center, and the crops ain't gotta water themselves! ...... stardew is very stressful to me, I'm sorry ._.
Another bot protagonist...
I don't know what it is, but I can't just get into anything where the main charater is screaming "I'M ARTIFICIAL!!!" from design to language and/or behavior
