I love the texture crochet provides. It's just very nice to look at - also, I'm not really a vest person, but I think I'm converted at this point. *adds to project list*
@@michelle_jasek I see what you did there. 😅 I love a crochet pun. Watching your content has doubled my project list in the span of about two weeks. You make all the things I want to make. Between you and Rachel Maksy, I'm fully in fall mode.
I embarked on this journey, choosing to do a thread crochet vest instead of yarn cuz I'm a maniac, and it was worth it, I learned to crochet and I made the vest! I'm happy. Thanks, you're awesome ✨
So happy that you posted this tutorial! I recently got into vests and have been trying to find a good tutorial but haven't had great luck. This one is perfect!!
This is such a great project! Its so hard with tutorials sometimes where there is no voice over/text on the screen while you are working etc. this is easy to understand, fun to listen to (i loved when you did a random southern accent ha), easy to size up (i just increased the base chain stitches abd made the arm holes smaller), and fun. Im starting on my second one now! Thanks so much ❤
Making this for my bfs birthday in the same color ☺️ tysm for this tutorial he's very much into cottage core aesthetics it's not cropped though I made it a bit longer thanks again for this 🥰
I know what you mean! The first one i made, i think it was a little too long and it’s kind of hard to style. I really like i how cropped this version 😊
@@michelle_jasekThank you for unraveling (uh-oh!) the "mystery" of decreasing & increasing to make the V-Neck. I've found by crocheting vests, cardigans side-to-side (vertical) they fit my "fluffy" size & lay better. Thanks for sharing your work. New subscriber here😍Mary
I love how you explained this. I found your channel recently and have been having fun watching your videos. I've attempted crochet several times and it's like the ptterns are in Aramaic as far as I'm concerned. My brain just cannot handle it. I even had my grandmother attempt to teach me at one point and she got frustrated with how little I grasped it 😬 I have a small collection of vintage crochet patterns that I pull out every now and again optimistic I'll figure out what they heck they say then they go right back on the shelf. I'm thinking I can definitely follow you doing this lol. Side note, would you like any vintage crochet patterns? I'm in Florida so shipping would be beyond my means most likely, but I'd be happy to send pictures of the patterns if you like. I have a 1970 copy of The Workbasket that has a couple things I suspect would be your style. Also a 1940s beginner guide and 1980s-2000 books full of very vintage things that are fun to look at 🤷♀️
I love wearing vest I have spinal stenosis and I find the pain makes my back cold. I am a new subscriber I also love cardigans definitely will be trying this one. Thank you
Hi! To get the measurements, are the inches whatever you measured divided by two? Then does that also mean the ribbing is added inches or is it the last 2-3 inches of whatever your measurements are?
I came to this video wondering how on earth people did necklines in crochet it turns out it is in fact as simple as going up one side and then attaching a new yarn to the other lol
Am I the only one who finds this tutorial confusing?? I couldn’t figure out where I was supposed to place half the stitches. And the back half was never explained. I ended up having to do the ribbing separately because it wasn’t lining up with the vest.
A good way to make this customizable is to for the front/back pannel to measure from underarm to underarm from however long you want it to be ( cropped measuring at your waist , longer measuring from lower stomache ) hope this makes sense lol 😅
I'd go for about 5 skeins of 400 ( or close ) yards of yarn Of course if you're unsure you can always get one or 2 more than you might think you need better safe than sorry especially with dye lot yarn
You got me lost after the safety pin , you didn’t continue with the steps. You just showed what you did. It would of been been better if you had continued the whole tutorial step by step for beginners.

Same! I was really never into vests until last year! And now i’m hooked lol

I've only gotten through the intro and I can already tell I'm going to love this tutorial 💕

I find going down a crochet hook size can make the ribbing tighter without having to change anything else. Love your channel!
i love the fit! usually i’m not a fan of the way crochet vests lay but i’ll be trying this one!

great tutorial, thank you for making this and explaining why you did what you were doing! 🙌🏻
This is a lovely and easy tutorial to follow. Many thanks!

Thx for the video, it would be very helpful if you could include the numbers of the rows
I love this! Making it my next project.
Looks great 😊
How many rows of decreases do I do?
So pretty
I love theses
Can i use another kind of yarn like chunky and 4mm hook? ❤
Hi! To get the measurements, are the inches whatever you measured divided by two? Then does that also mean the ribbing is added inches or is it the last 2-3 inches of whatever your measurements are?
Can this pattern be done with very thin yarn?
Thanks
En que momento hace la parte de atrás?)
I came to this video wondering how on earth people did necklines in crochet

How much time does it take?
Everything I do the hdc there's a line and idk what I'm doing wrong
Instead of attaching them with a crochet hook can we sew it in with a yarn needle??
You've probably found the answer already but yeah you can there's all sorts of types of sewing methods eg whip stitch or mattress stitch
how do you get your edges so straiht
How many do you change for X large
I’m not sleeping tonight it looks like…
I can finally get rid of some of that scrap yarn lol
Is there a written pattern for this
Am I the only one who finds this tutorial confusing?? I couldn’t figure out where I was supposed to place half the stitches. And the back half was never explained. I ended up having to do the ribbing separately because it wasn’t lining up with the vest.
Can you do crewneck😍
i love you

How many yarns did you use?
It says in the description
How much yarn does this pattern use?
I'd go for about 5 skeins of 400 ( or close ) yards of yarn

Hi how many rows did you did you don't explain that in the video
That’s the same question I have 🥲
i counted and i think its about 19 rows from the top
or if your using the same measurements start decreasing 4once you have ten stitches left on your row
@@evievanrooy5379thank you :)

I got lost doing the back part despite rewatching 10 times 🥲🥲 can someone explain how many decreases and for how many rows?
