Just picked up a spot welder. Hope to be able to help some friends out. Where is a good supply for replacement cells and the flat metal leads? Thanks, Wes
NEVER EVER turn a screw forward when putting it back into a hole.. I turn it backward very slowly until I hear and feel it drop into the original thread groove. Then Just as it fully drops into an original thread groove, I turn it forward and feel if it has any binding resistance. If it does, I turn it backwards again until I hear/feel one more click.. Then I turn it forward and feel if it is following the correct groove.. And always put the same screw into the same hole.. This insures that the threads don't get stripped...
To balance nimh battery packs, a circuit with two 1n4007 diodes in series plus a resistance of 1 to 10 ohms is used. The voltage drop in each diode is 0.7 volt x 2 is 1.4 volts. The resistance limits the intensity of the balancing current. Being soldered to all nimh cells this increases the life and performance of the battery pack.
@@scottcook414 easy versión by balancing the cells with resistors in each of a value between 430 ohm to 1k ohm. this applied to battery packs on old satellites google patent information.
Why do this? Answers: This is more fun. Because we can. And looking below, some people don't have reliable access to battery pack replacement or even new tools. I think the DIY is fun, to a point. I don't have a welder or sottering gun, so I don't see myself doing this regardless, but I ahave a recently dead Dewalt 18volt NiCad battery pack and I don'twant to buy new ones. I'll try to jump it, not rebuild, but still, I get it.
@@scottcook414 Yeh! That's the idea, every time a Mfg wants more money make something perfectly good seem obsolete, & people will just blindly follow ! BTW, you can make with better cells than original !
You said to recycle ♻️, ok. But would you be able to test each individual battery to see which one of them are really dead? Sometimes we have only one dead battery!
A little fast with respect to the "spacer"? but overall nice explanation. Some blocked shots too... maybe a tad bit slower would allow for better camera shots. Thanks for the video.
lotta work to rebuild these packs...geesh..i thought u could just remove a few screws, take the case apart, desolder old bats, solder in new ones might as well just buy em new already made for $50 lol, dont have a spot welder, just soldering iron...sighh...wanted to buy high end r/c car batteries as I'm into that hobby, and use them in a pack for my drill..my research tells me theyre the same batts in size/type etc
Where can I buy the 3M paper?
What is the make and molder of the spot welder in your video ?
Where do you get the 3M covers?
Where do you buy the 3M cover?
Never knew rebuild and replace are synonymous when it comes to batteries.
One of the few well done videos on you tube. One thing though. What should the voltage be on one cell

What type of battery did you use to replace the old ones?

Sounds like a ton of work, should probably just upgrade your tools.

will be nice if you can say where did you find the 3M covers. Many follower tried to find :)
Fantastic job how much do you charge to rebuild battery like u to rebuild 4 batteries

Do the individual cells need balancing before making the battery?
Everytime he was soldering, you can see the screw holding the solder sparkle...
Nice if you have the welder.
What brand and model of welder is that?
What name brand is your spot welder an where to purchase.
Thank you
Where do you get the recargable battery
Great video!
I'm not able to find the batteries here in the Philippines.
Where can you purchase the NiCad batteries at. What voltage are they and what amps
Amazon
Do you rebuild Lincoln 14.4 batteries
Hi,where are you located?
why not rebuild it to li ion?
Hi does anyone know where I can purchase the batteries and 3M insulation pads. Thanks in advance.
De cuanto es el termisor?

Which battery 🔋 did he uses?
Can I Borrow your spot welder ? ☺
No BMS?
nicad doesn't need bms
Why, when non branded new battery packs are so cheap?
Because they use cheaper cells that are rejects and have lower capacity?
@@ceeweedsl correct, they suck.
The cheap batteries do NOT last
The new cell are stronger than new aftermarket packs
the generic chinese batteries are complete garbage; low mah, and don't hold charge; never had one last more than 4 or 5 months
Video is dark
screw that ill just get a new battery

Aftermarket packs don’t last
New cells will outlast new packs
Hi if I send you 3 18 V DeWalt batteries de 9503 2.6ah little you repair them and how much it will cost me thank you. if you want my email. Thank you
