I have just received my Skydio 2 (and a Pro-Kit to go with it) and it will be used as a compliment to my other UAS … as soon as I am able to figure out how to get the Skydio2 controller to complete a connection with my phone (I have a help desk inquiry pending - waiting for a reply).
I am a Part 107 certified UAS pilot and so I wish to use care as an RCIP. I have some questions regarding operation of the Skydio 2 and maintaining VLOS as required by the FAA.
• Does Skydio concur that operation of its product when it is flying behind the RPIC (and, presumably not in sight) still meets the VLOS requirements? See, for example the posted video at 01:59, 02:44, 04:37 or 04:49.
• If the Skydio hits an obstruction and crashes during such an operation, such as the wire at 01:59 in the video, will Skydio honor the guarantee be honored even though, at that moment, VLOS does appear extant?

What video mode is best to take an overhead of 100 acres?
Are there any plans to waterproof the drone? Mine will be here Monday :). But, I'm a big water sports kind of guy....I'd like to not drown it.
I would like to have the option to save videos and create clips directly to my phone SD card instead of internal memory.

Unfortunately not at this time, but that is feedback we have heard from customers before and have taken into account.

Hi Nicole, question, if I am flying with beacon connected and then phone connected to beacon, you can't or shouldn't control things with your phone right? Thanks Dave...
You can absolutely use either the Phone or Beacon. The phone will offer access to a variety of settings and features that are not possible to access with the Beacon only.
@@Skydio So just to reiterate things, if I am flying using beacon and I have phone attached to beacon mainly to make sure drone is still following us, so I could tell Skydio to say follow in front or side and adjust altitude in stead of using the beacon?

Please, how to slow down in Orbit mode cant find the setting? this is a wild drone at times!!!! So is their a global setting to slow down the abruptness at times?
Orbit speed by sliding the direction slider at the bottom of the app left or right, or by using the arrow buttons on the beacon once orbiting.

Skydio 2 is only trained to recognize human and vehicle subjects. If you want to track your dog, you can try attaching your Beacon to the doggo’s collar, that way Skydio 2 will use GPS to track it. 👌🏻

@@Skydio Interesting. Seems like if Skydio can track humans, it should be able to track dogs and cats in the not too distant future. This is a very big market. Look at the number of people who have cats and dogs. Also the number of veterinarians. Pets have been major stress relievers for many during the pandemic. Nikon already has some cameras that can do this.

Gotta love the shots around trees and branches that wouldn’t be covered under the warranty in the case of a crash
So fed up with my skydio 2, its two days old and wont charge the batteries via the skydio 2.
Hey there, first thing I would suggest would be to put the battery that won't charge on your drone, power it up fully, then power it off and place the battery on the dual charger or place it on the drone and then plug it in. If this doesn't work, send out customer support team a message at help@skydio.com and they will gladly help you out, or get you a replacement if for some reason the battery is a dud.

Seems dangerous that skydio 2 hover only avoids static objects. Few times I've had people approach skydio 2 in hover and got close enough to almost get injured. Skydio 2 eventually reacts. But odd that it let's people get that close.
Hey Bradley, Skydio 2 only avoids static objects, no matter the tracking mode.
@@Skydio The drone does react, it just seems to wait until someone is within touching distance before it actually does something. It is odd that it doesn't start moving out of the way, well before someone or something is that close. I am confused about what difference it makes whether the drone is moving towards a stationary object, or a moving object is moving towards a stationary drone, the goal should be avoiding having something get close enough to cause damage or an injury. You'd think the drone could always strive to make sure it is keeping distance between itself and anything coming close, and using it's 360 vision to determine the best path, whether that is backing away, moving up, or going left or right to avoid having something get that close.
