Came across you Guyz by chance on you tube, I'm 70 yrs old, and a music lover from Temptations to Jim Croce, to Yanni, to Sting, to Sarah McLaughlin, to especially Eva Cassidy.....and I gotta say Im hooked on you guys, Racheal's Voice right up there with Eva Cassidy!!1
I think she sounds like she has a cold! You can hear it at when she is talking at like 15:46. Maybe I'm imagining it. If not, brilliant that she can still sing so well with the sniffles. :)
Why don’t we have a word for that? Prolific doesn’t work-it only covers the amount of art they create over time. I mean, a word; a specific word for a musician who unceasingly improves over time, ad infinitum. Someone create a word for that. Please.
Im sorry but can Bridget get an award for just existing cooler than everybody else. The body language between her and her bass between songs just lets you know she is amazing and talented and she knows she is.
I remember the day I stumbled across Lake Street Dive on RUclips,it was magical. I then started searching for more information on the band, buying digital content, and sharing with all of my friends. They have something really special and it transfers through their music.Much love!
Is she auditioning for Devo? Congrats for keeping it to music she's a VERY attractive lady and could play that up bigtime and doesn't but a shapeless jumpsuit is too much and taken it too far. Good thing it's not orange
I went to see them in Missoula, Mt last year. A small town. I was talking to a friend on the street and lwtf Rachel walked by. I called her name and she stopped and talked to me for a few minutes. The concert that night was really special for me!! Don't hate me cause I'm so lucky!!!
I Love This Guys All And Each One Are A WONDERFUL GREAT AMAZING MUSICIANS, Music That Touch You That Make You Feel This Beautiful Feelings That They Put In All Their Songs, And RACHAEL VOICE, OMG, IS FROM OTHER WORLD. I LOVE YOUR MUSIC, HOW YOU PLAY IT AND I LOVE YOU GUYS, YOU´RE THE BEST LAKE STREET DIVE🥰😍🤩
I think you guy's are awesome! Saw you in person in New Orleans and I was blown away. Rachel, dear sweetheart you have a voice I dream about. Thank you for doing what you do.
Lots of bands are really great. Lots of studios are really good. But...this trio of songs with the commentary gets into some really deep topics. Not softball tosses of yada yada. Congrats to Paste for a great presentation.
What a wonderful group, so mush music with only 5 players. The lead singer can sing anything and to me fantastic. I would love to hear her sing the old 40-50’s night club songs. Each time I hear her sing I get more impressed. The harmonies are amazing.
i just stumbled on this band during one of those secret "on company time" youtube searches for new music. oh you never did one of those, sucks to be you. anyway im pretty sure she aint lyin when she says shes a good kisser. And im absoluety certian shes a good singer. Its good to know there are bands out there saving music one great song at a time. Tell em im good listenererererererrer.
Lately I have been listening to Rachael sing in her appearances on Live From Here where she often applies her pristine conservatory voice that reflects her affection for the work of Ella Fitzgerald. While that is beautiful, the often soulful singing with just a little fry that she delivers here on Good Kisser has such a connectedness to it. Lake Street Dive definitely has a great chemistry and she shines brightest among her bandmates. So impressive.
I think Rachael has a cold. Sinus condition I'm guessing. She sounds better with a cold than most sound when healthy. I'm guessing also that performing in the morning must not be easy. The talent level of these five is off the charts. Their musicianship is out of this world. I simply can not get enough of them. Love my LSD 🎵 🎤🎸 🎹🎺 🎻🥁 🎶
I want to hear from Akie Bermiss! It's so weird to have him there for the last year but never addressed. I imagine he has great insight into playing with LSD that fans would find interesting.
They could sure improve the 'watchability' of this video by stacking all the conversation together and all the songs together in a sequence. It 'felt' weird watching it, and that was a shame given the performances and the sound quality which is stellar.
It's a great band. But Rachael's voice is leagues beyond. It's like cool water on a hot day. I love watching her sing, because she doesn't even seem like she's putting that much effort into hitting the notes she hits.
Interestingly, he's also replaced McDuck in the 'chorus'--at least for this Paste session. But then, he was already known to be a terrific singer in his own right (check him out on Soundcloud--the name is "Akie Bermiss.") He's previously toured with LSD and done some videos with them (for example, the controversial "Take On Me" cover, which a lot of people loved, but some seriously hated.)
I think you're right. But I hope we now get some 5-part harmony! Agreed on TOM, but I spent some time defending McDuck on that one... he was clearly going for 'obnoxious' (as he described one genre of trumpet solo in an interview I saw somewhere.)
All this talk about the 'flaws' in the performance is looking for the wrong way to evaluate these songs. I think what sounds like a 'glitch' is one of the things that put the charm into the performance. I.e. if it was perfect it wouldn't be as good.
Is the bass low in this mix or is it just me? I'm no expert, but it doesn't stand out like I'm used to... The performances were ridiculously flawless as usual. The talent is overwhelming sometimes.
@ TorontoLarrivee: "Sesame Street" -- LOL! Assuming they want to move to the next level, a more cohesive visual presentation will be essential. Like it or not, a lot of people use eye appeal as their first test when determining if they're interested in the music. The days of hearing a song on the radio and later seeing the performers is long gone.
This woman has a wonderful voice and is very unique. Great group altogether!
Her voice is getting better... I didn't even think that was possible. So good.
I think she sounds like she has a cold! You can hear it at when she is talking at like 15:46. Maybe I'm imagining it. If not, brilliant that she can still sing so well with the sniffles. :)
Nikki Hoff yes, she does sound a bit stuffy. Still, I can hear the growth in her style and feel. Such an honest and delightful band.
Couldn't agree more! :)
Why don’t we have a word for that? Prolific doesn’t work-it only covers the amount of art they create over time.
I mean, a word; a specific word for a musician who unceasingly improves over time, ad infinitum. Someone create a word for that. Please.
Her voice puts me at ease. Her voice will always be one of my favorites
Their bass person is so good. I am so impressed with her I just end up watching her constantly.
Im sorry but can Bridget get an award for just existing cooler than everybody else. The body language between her and her bass between songs just lets you know she is amazing and talented and she knows she is.
Bridgett has been my favorite bass player since the moment I heard her play. Rachael is my favorite singer ever!
And the angels behind her Always had had thanks in grace And will continue to be blessed
I remember the day I stumbled across Lake Street Dive on RUclips,it was magical. I then started searching for more information on the band, buying digital content, and sharing with all of my friends. They have something really special and it transfers through their music.Much love!
you feel it has been sang with deep emotions that are transmitted to the audience, goood vibes
It would be a sin to overlook the wonderful Bridget Kearney, bassist, singer and songwriter extraordinaire.
Not possible to overlook the Bridge......I think she should be an action movie star.
Agreed
Totally off the chain
@@jamcrane3 she should definitely sport a cape!
Every single video of LSD on youtube has multiple people mention how good she is. Nobody is missing it
Rachel Price in a jumpsuit. I'm sold.
Is she auditioning for Devo? Congrats for keeping it to music she's a VERY attractive lady and could play that up bigtime and doesn't but a shapeless jumpsuit is too much and taken it too far. Good thing it's not orange
Recently discovered this group. Really like them.
I love❤️ this Band 👍🥇

These guys, every time i listen to them there is always joy in my heart.
... I just love Rachel's voice ... perfection with power ..., and she does it with such ease ...
The music just seems to flow out of her
It's wild to hear her speak and then sing! To say her voice is powerful is an incredible understatement.
Happy to have discovered this band in these days I’m forced to stay at home. Rachel in particular is a jewel!
glad that you disovered them! they are my fave!!!

Love, love, love this band. Her voice is so crystal clear.
The I Can Change live version was fantastic!
Awesome, and thanks!
So awesome! I love these guys so much. That last song is just fantastic!
The addition of the keyboards increases the sound of the band 2 or 3 fold, band sounds fantastic, man these are great tunes too!
major props to that guy, steppin up and joining a band like this one was no small feat.
What a wonderful group, so mush music with only 5 players. The lead singer can sing anything and to me fantastic. I would love to hear her sing the old 40-50’s night club songs. Each time I hear her sing I get more impressed. The harmonies are amazing.
Rachael was a jazz vocal major in college. Has two jazz CD's out. Great music

Can't wait to see you guys at our festival in Ogden Utah in June!!

So looking forward to seeing them in Ottawa this summer.
Fantastic Band....
Absolutely amazing!
The best singer since Amy Winehouse imo.
I've never listened but will give her a try. Any suggestions?
Pretty good comparison, they are definitely of the same ilk, but I much prefer Rachel!
Saludos desde México! se escucha increíble la banda! estaré al pendiente de sus siguientes producciones

Her voice is amazing and she's soo cute😍😍😍
I'm in love with a shape of you 😂🙋♂️😍😍😍
Can her voice get any clearer? So right.
imagine how good this video would be without the questions
It doesn't get better than lake street dive & rachel price's awesome voice
I want to hear from Akie Bermiss! It's so weird to have him there for the last year but never addressed. I imagine he has great insight into playing with LSD that fans would find interesting.
Great vocal qualities
her low notes... damn
See you in ABQ in a month. Been spreading the word.
How am I just now finding them....
Me too. So sad I didn't find them 10 years ago.
Great !!!!
Entertainment without politics is a lonely road nowadays. But, it is still one worth traveling.
They are coming to Europe in April 2019!!! Jippie
Great session!
They could sure improve the 'watchability' of this video by stacking all the conversation together and all the songs together in a sequence. It 'felt' weird watching it, and that was a shame given the performances and the sound quality which is stellar.
That's what's cool about all of Paste's performances; you get a glimpse into the musicians, not just the magic they make. IMO
3:14 to 3:38 - oh, hello Carole King
I’m going to go ahead and assume the 4 thumbs downs were accidents. This is gold. Can’t wait for the Vancouver show!
It's a great band. But Rachael's voice is leagues beyond. It's like cool water on a hot day. I love watching her sing, because she doesn't even seem like she's putting that much effort into hitting the notes she hits.
Proper man !
So when did James Spader start playing guitar for Lake Street?
Is there somewhere where your new Keyboard player is introduced? How, and where from and all. . .
His name is Akie Bermiss. He opened for them once and impressed them. The rest is history :) instagram.com/akiebermiss/
He looks good. He sounds good. I will be likin' the continued history.
Interestingly, he's also replaced McDuck in the 'chorus'--at least for this Paste session. I get the feeling McDuck doesn't mind not singing. P.S. I loved the 'Take On Me' cover :)

It is perfect in its perfect imperfections. Like lifes best lovers.
that boy got some tone on that last one
Is the bass low in this mix or is it just me? I'm no expert, but it doesn't stand out like I'm used to... The performances were ridiculously flawless as usual. The talent is overwhelming sometimes.
seems low - i don't like this mix! same and same to rest of your comment ha
Yes, bass needs to be jacked up some.
The only band that is better live than studio.
Love the band - the audio “sounds wrong” though....sorry.
Where have you been all my life Rachael?
Great
"How's it going guys?" Right.
I don't really get popular styles of music except maybe at a distance. These guys though. Yeah.
A white woman with a black voice. Wow, amazing!
*chin hits chest* ...whoa.
Lead singer looks similar to Carly Simon, doesn't she? And the voice is similar too. Different musical style, though, which is good. Nice sound.
more similar to the voice of carol king?
She sounds like herself. Carly and Carol Amazing songwriters neither had this vocal range. But variation of vocals i can slightly hear it.
I heard moments of that. I'm thinking she was influenced by Joplin, too.
Guitar sounds great. Who's dressing these guys though -- looks like they should be on Sesame Street.
Lake Street Thrift Stores. Good idea 'tho - Sesame Street Dive - Jazz for pre-school/post first kisses crowd.
The wardrobe has to go, it was kinda funky for the last album, now its just sad lol
IT DOES work to make them unique and memorable.
Listening to them is like clicking on "ALLOW" for feeling the Love they send.

Have you not heard? She can change, and I have seen acts who change costumes between every song.
"Are there typically a lot of hard choices to make in a recording setting?" They should have blinked and then said simply, "Yes." ;-)
Just gotta say - just let them play.......
Only because she has value
Interviewer you talk way to much, interview the band
hi, don
How many times can a group of people say: “you know” in 25 minutes...
Shippitty dips, that's... whibbetty pops
Mmmm yea... That's the stuff.
