  • Do you have an old garage door opener and a new Tesla without HomeLink? Rather than buying a whole new garage opener or paying for HomeLink, there is an offer to connect to your old garage door with Chamberlain MyQ for only 99 cents and a subscription. Check out here how well it works.

Or,… you could just stick the remote on the back side of the lower left corner of the screen with double sided tape.
It’s clean, invisible, and works every time.

The subscription cost is the roadblock I found for enabling MyQ support in my Model Y. It's $300 so I can press a button on my screen instead of a remote attached to the visor. And the auto-open doors would just open the door even when I don't want them open (Such as when I come home for lunch break).

Yeah, I get that. I turned off the auto stuff in favor of the screen tap. Makes more sense for me since I can share the sub between two cars.

Wyze combines the garage door opener controller with a camera for $55. No subscription required. You'll see & record who comes and goes. It can automatically close your door when you drive away. You can remotely open and close your door if you get a package while you're away. I'm sure there are plenty of similar products without a $300 subscription. Also, DIY with a Raspberry Pi Zero W.
Good video, but there are other options.

Get a Tailwind for $90, one time cost, integrates will all your smart home stuff, no subscriptions, works with all your cars, auto open/close and smart features. There's plenty of options out there like Nexx and Meross too.

I use Tailwind as well and also keep a small remote taped to the back side of the screen for emergency use when the internet at home may be down.

Maybe you have to turn the Tesla off and on again?🤦‍♂️🤣

Haha, what's funny is that a reset will fix the issue for at least a few days.
