Thank you for sharing your life stories with us. Because of your mother's medical conditions you grew up knowing how temporal and precious life is. She does seem like such a wonderful person filled with light and love. You have forged a wonderful relationship with her. I lost my mother a few years ago and miss her everyday. I enjoyed her friends as much or maybe even more than friends closer to my age. I loved their frankness and how they spoke bold truths, and they were there for each other till the end. Through sickness and even through the death of their spouses and through life's trials. I have just discovered your channel and enjoy it immensely! Hugs and best wishes to you and your mum.

Miranda's RUclips channel was an outstanding discovery to me last year. And I learned a lot from it already. I appreciate a lot Miranda's English pronunciation really, as it helps non English followers to clearly understand what she is saying...What I find here is respect, love for books and reading, kindness, love of nature, the beautiful English countryside (and Yorkshire), style, and many other interesting things and topics. I think this channel deserves much more subscribers indeed. I'm always inspired by Miranda's relationship to her mother, Mrs. Donna, whom I hugely respect. Being an oncologist (cancer doctor) myself, I can imagine what she went through during her illness, but happily she's well now and this is what's most important.
Take care and big hello from Lebanon!

Miranda, you spoke so honestly and eloquently about your life, your Mum, and her illness. I'm sure I wasn't the only one blinking away tears. You are both such wonderful women with incredibly inspiring stories to tell and it's a real joy to get a glimpse into your life and loves. I wouldn't have expected anything else than your name have been chosen from favourite literature. I named my daughter, Nancy, after my heroine (and emotional crutch) Nancy Drew. Dear Miranda,
I did not think it was possible to love you more as I already did. But this video was so touching and both you and your mom are such kind souls. I thank you so much for telling us more about your private life. I sometimes feel that people ask too many questions, but you answered them so gracefully. By the way you look stunning in that beautiful dress. I think your international background is really interesting. I lived in Portland, OR for several years and my older daughter also did IB. She actually really wanted to study in England which unfortunstely was no longer possible for Germans after Brexit. We have been back to Germany for several years now, but I think that living abroad always broadens your horizon in a good way. You learn to be thankful for a lot of things that others seem to take for granted. I love to see that your channel is growing rapidly at the moment and I wish you all the best with that. You do a wonderful job, your videos are exquisit!!! I always appreciate a lot that you take time to like or answer to everybody's commrnents. This is very special. Have a lovely Friday and weekend!

( although I might leave a few ‘bits’ to crunch on) lol…Your life story has endeared me even more to you and as there isn’t anything quite like you and your mom on YT, and I’ve researched other book clubs on line, I think your channel deserves the support that highlights all that you’ve envisioned for it. You’ve put the ‘spotlight’ on Mother’s and Daughter’s, books and reading, and so much more….and of course ‘Yorkshire’ and the beautiful surrounding areas of where you live. Thank you for sharing a bit of your background. What an international upbringing ! Your mention of Enid Blyton reminded of how many, many years ago, a girl at my school lent me
her Secret Seven books. I would read one, bring it back to school & she would bring another one. At secondary school there was a girl who brought me books to read
for the school holidays. That was when I read my first Georgette Heyer. I think that her family must have had an amazing home library.

I am so enjoying your Vlogs and an extra video each week from you. Such a treat! I was really surprised to hear that your mother, Donna, lived in Regina, Saskatchewan and that you were born here as I have lived in Regina and the surrounding farming area, my whole life. My grandparents immigrated from Yorkshire, England and I have family ties there. Such a small world. Please say hello to Donna from frosty Regina. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

I identified with so many things in this video ... the love for childrens fiction (especially cosy family focused stories) when I am looking for some comfort reading ... the love of homemade "smooth" hearty winter soups ... the wonderful mother/daughter friendship you share with Donna (my mother has also been living with me for the last 3 years due to immobility problems following major leg surgery and I so enjoy our daily catch-up chats and meal times when I come home from work). Thank you for another enjoyable and relaxing video Miranda. ❤

What happy memories this video brought for me. Many years ago I was living in Israel when I wandered into a used bookstore on a small, out-of-the-way street where, and, purely by chance, I purchased the Penguin edition of "Reunion." I liked it so much I gave a copy to my mother (who who died just weeks ago). It was one of her all-time favorite books. I am eager to hear what you think of it.

What a treat to have two videos a week from you Miranda. I loved hearing about Donna’s reading, I’m reading “Silver Sword” to my grandson at the moment, he’s loving it, though we have to stop and discuss the history quite a bit, he’s not quite 11! Thanks to you I’m about to start a re read of Georgette Heyer, I can still remember where I was when I read her obituary in the Daily Telegraph, I was devastated as she was probably my first “adult” author outside the set books at school.

I had loads of picture books before I started to read 😅😁 my favourite stories as a child all had animals in it, or were about animals but I also loved stories with friendly ghosts and witches. I think the Paddington Bear books were some of my favourites in 1st and 2nd grade... I also read adventure books like Jules Verne and others from my grandfather. Then I started to read ballet books and horse riding adventures in 4th grade

I enjoyed learning more about you. Enid Blyton was definitely my favourite as a kid. But I also adored the All Of A Kind family books, I think as an Australian of English descent I didn’t really understand much about Judaism but I loved the family and rituals. And I have often wondered if you were named after Miranda in The Tempest.

I was thrilled to hear you grew up with Enid Blyton and that you read 'the five finder-outers (and Buster the dog)'. I also loved these books - and I still have my childhood collection. My TBR list is now littered with your recommendations. I have never taken to poetry - probably because I was never taught how to understand it - but Japanese poetry (Haiku?) has always spoken to me. Thank you for sharing some of your life story with us. What a tapestried life you've led. x
