Happy Thursday! I hope you're all having a lovely start to February. Please check the video description box for my winter soup recipe (and all links), and don't forget my Serious Readers offer code SR222: try.seriousreaders.com/pages/sr222/ Miranda x
Miranda. The sense I’m getting is that your story would be a beautiful novel. The more we know about you the more we love you. What an interesting life! I’m so grateful to God that he preserved your dear mother, who is sunshine itself! I think I’m her age, and I would love to hang out with her! God bless you both richly!❤🎉❤
Yikes, me again! I just want to say that I think the potential with your channel is huge. You both are such a unique entity. I think, pressing in to just what you’re doing, with your mom, the books, life in Yorkshire, the cooking, the chats, really could blow up and be super special! Just wanted to encourage you!❤❤❤
I'm catching up on your past vlogs, and this one was one of my favorites. Thanks for sharing so much about your childhood. The relationship you and Donna share is so touching. Thank you for following your passion, Miranda, and creating this space on the Internet. It's a haven!
Miranda's RUclips channel was an outstanding discovery to me last year. And I learned a lot from it already. I appreciate a lot Miranda's English pronunciation really, as it helps non English followers to clearly understand what she is saying...What I find here is respect, love for books and reading, kindness, love of nature, the beautiful English countryside (and Yorkshire), style, and many other interesting things and topics. I think this channel deserves much more subscribers indeed. I'm always inspired by Miranda's relationship to her mother, Mrs. Donna, whom I hugely respect. Being an oncologist (cancer doctor) myself, I can imagine what she went through during her illness, but happily she's well now and this is what's most important. Take care and big hello from Lebanon!
Thank you for sharing your life stories with us. Because of your mother's medical conditions you grew up knowing how temporal and precious life is. She does seem like such a wonderful person filled with light and love. You have forged a wonderful relationship with her. I lost my mother a few years ago and miss her everyday. I enjoyed her friends as much or maybe even more than friends closer to my age. I loved their frankness and how they spoke bold truths, and they were there for each other till the end. Through sickness and even through the death of their spouses and through life's trials. I have just discovered your channel and enjoy it immensely! Hugs and best wishes to you and your mum.
You brought tears to my eyes when you were talking about your lovely Mum. I am very lucky that my daughter and I are extremely close and get on brilliantly also. Daisy is in her first year at University in Oxford so we have missed each other terribly but we facetime every day. All of Daisy's friends are shocked at how well we get along and how much we love spending time together. x
Your career pathway is so diverse! From ballet to law to teaching, wow. Maybe that's why you are such an interesting person! You have a great channel and your relationship with your mom is special. Thank you for the work you do to produce such enjoyable content.
Hello Miranda🥰....I just adore You and Donna...two women I’ve never met in a part of the world I will most likely never see, has enriched my reading and literally put a real life view to the words “comfort and cozy”..Listening to you talk about Donna made me emotional ( the room got even brighter to me )Thank You so much 🥰📚
Thank the heavenly father your mom is still with you and now here for us all too! Praise God! I think it’s marvelous that you and your mom are so close and you helping take care of her is a extremely and loving and shows the honor you have for her. More children and young people could learn from you what love looks like between a mother and her children. ❤🌸
One of my favorite Middle Grade reads in the 1970s was called "The Secret in Miranda's Closet" about a girl who secretly loves playing with dolls, but can't tell her mum because her mum is a strong, independent business woman who doesn't agree with "stereotype labels" for boys and girls toys. I still own it! Miranda, you and your mum are absolutely lovely 💕
Miranda, you spoke so honestly and eloquently about your life, your Mum, and her illness. I'm sure I wasn't the only one blinking away tears. You are both such wonderful women with incredibly inspiring stories to tell and it's a real joy to get a glimpse into your life and loves. I wouldn't have expected anything else than your name have been chosen from favourite literature. I named my daughter, Nancy, after my heroine (and emotional crutch) Nancy Drew. Beautiful dress, by the way xx
Dear Miranda, I did not think it was possible to love you more as I already did. But this video was so touching and both you and your mom are such kind souls. I thank you so much for telling us more about your private life. I sometimes feel that people ask too many questions, but you answered them so gracefully. By the way you look stunning in that beautiful dress. I think your international background is really interesting. I lived in Portland, OR for several years and my older daughter also did IB. She actually really wanted to study in England which unfortunstely was no longer possible for Germans after Brexit. We have been back to Germany for several years now, but I think that living abroad always broadens your horizon in a good way. You learn to be thankful for a lot of things that others seem to take for granted. I love to see that your channel is growing rapidly at the moment and I wish you all the best with that. You do a wonderful job, your videos are exquisit!!! I always appreciate a lot that you take time to like or answer to everybody's commrnents. This is very special. Have a lovely Friday and weekend!
Miranda, You and your mom continue to be two highlights of my week! I love the UK and have been able to visit three times. Your vlogs help me remember the many reasons I admire your country. I am an older person now. Like you, I have been a lifelong reader and still treasure my reading times! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for your lovely comment and very kind support, Carol! I am so happy my vlogs bring back happy memories of your trips to the UK, and I so appreciate your generosity. It means a lot ❤️
Miranda; your channel is so wonderful for those of us who enjoy books, gardens, tea and a quiet enriching lifestyle. I am so enjoying the twice weekly treat of seeing you and Donna.
You just blew my mind when you mentioned you were born in Regina, I was born and have lived in/around Saskatoon my whole life and so many people have no idea where Saskatchewan is, and with your accent it's hard to believe you've lived anywhere but the UK. This was a fun surprise to my day! Annnd now I want to make soup, it's still -18 here so I need to get my hands on these ingredients and make this asap!
Just watched this vlog, I loved it was lovely to here about your life growing up, what an interesting life you have had. You are so blessed with your relationship with your mum and I am so thrilled to hear she survived cancer when you were little, she seems a very special lady as do you xx
What a delightful video segment. We appreciate you for answering these questions so earnestly and honestly - You and your life's story are endearing, inspiring and heartwarming, completely.
Thank you Miranda for the lovely video as always! I really appreciate your extra work for posting two videos a week, I Must say I wait for both of them impatiently, not only for the book content which was my fist reason at the beginning but also for the coziness , calmness and light you bring to my life. I am so happy to have found you and your channel ( your mum has totally stolen my heart ) and I hope you keep on truly to your self and to unique way for a long time. ❤️
It’s very good of you to share your story, it’s amazing how we make assumptions about people and they are nowhere near the true. You are both amazing ladies. Thank you for your interesting videos. I struggle with my mental health so don’t get out much anymore but your videos really keep abreast with life “out there”. Thank you both.
Hello Miranda, I just wanted to say I'm looking over some of your older videos and this one is so honest and insightful. I teared up too when you were talking about your mum! You sound like you've had a very interesting and fulfilling life so far! I so very much enjoy all of your videos, they are a beautiful escape from the mundane, so comforting and cozy. You are two very charming and lovely ladies living my dream in Yorkshire so thank you so much for your content and for sharing your lives with us.
Hello Miranda, I have just discovered The Comfort Book Club and met you and your lovely Mom Donna. What a tonic for me! I suffer with anxiety and depression and your lovely videos and blogs have uplifted me SO MUCH so thank you from the bottom of my heart! You and your Mom are going to hold a special place in my week and I have got February's read 'The Nonesuch' to start reading and I can't wait to hear the discussion. You are very special people, it shows in your lovely smiles, words and everything you share. You are providing an absolutely wonderful stress free environment to escape to. God Bless You both xx
Thank you so much for your kind words, Maria! I'm so happy you find my videos uplifting and are looking forward to the February Comfort Book Club. Happy reading!
I absolutely loved hearing you talk about mum, seeing the wonderful relationship you have with her is always so heartwarming. You both seem so lovely, I am sure Donna must feel just as lucky to have you as you do to have her! As both a daughter and a mother myself I found this so touching. Love all your interesting recommendations as always, and the soup sounds delicious! I am looks forward to the new Laura Wood, combining detection and romance sounds perfect for me. Thank you so much Miranda for all your hard work and thought creating these beautiful vlogs, they are such a joy and inspiration.
Thank you, Miranda for sharing so much of yourself. Usually, my dog is right next to me when I watch your videos. She had to be put down earlier today, so now I am by myself. But your wonderful conversation and your adorable mother are a real comfort to me.
I'm so very sorry to hear of the loss of your dog, Julia! Sincere condolences for your loss, and I'm so glad this video was able to provide some small comfort at this time ❤️
I love your bread plates and serviettes, and it’s lovely to see your mug collection and teapot in the background as you and your lovely mum enjoy your delicious sounding soup! Looking forward to the sections on upcoming reads and your mum answering questions.
Thank you for all of the effort you put into your vlogs. I am loving that we get to see more of you (and your mum), the quality of your content is unmatched and I always look forward to watching!
Dear Miranda. Thank you for another wonderful video. I am so moved by what you have shared. Your relationship with your mum is beautiful (I’m very close to my mum, too) and you are both so lovely. I am disabled and spend much of my time in bed every day. I share so many loves with you and it is such a joy to spend time in your (and your mum’s) company. Thank you so much for your very special videos, they bring me so much pleasure. I’m wishing you and your mum every good thing. With love from Scotland, xxx
Hello Miranda, thank you for sharing with us. We have similar life I think. I am Canadian but live in Yorkshire for 3 years, as a kid I did ballet classique for approximately 22 years. I have lived all over Europe and we have scientists in the family What is not similar is the education ! I am astonished about all the bagage of knowledge you have. You bring soft and peaceful moments to my busy week and I’ve change couple of things in the family dynamic. On Sunday afternoon we sit all together in the living room, we read and talk about the our readings. Continue your good work !
Thanks for sharing your work history. I’m amazed how diverse and interesting your work history has been .Lovely to hear about your relationship with your mum and we all can see how loving and caring you both are towards each other. Thanks for the recipe. I’ll have a go. 💕🙏
You and your mom are such sweet, positive and strong people 😊❤️ I always admire all the activities you two get up to. So fascinating all the places you lived in😃😃 that must be such beautiful memories!! All the things you get to see and learn. I always loved travelling but actually haven't done much travelling at all... Never really had the money as a student and then just always working too much. I did a lot of business travelling before the pandemic 😁 but not since.. I really need to get out more! Life's too short
Thank you Miranda and Donna for answering our questions. Letting us know about your life, interests, past experiences creates a real bond of affection with you and your mum. ❤ 😊Yummy soup by the way!…
Thank you for sharing your amazing life - both you and your Mom are special people - kind, smart and compassionate. Thank you again for bringing us into your home!
Another lovely vlog. Thank you! I love all your content, but one of the things that makes your channel special, besides all the books, things, outings, cooking, music, etc, is you and your mom. You two ladies are beautiful inside and out and your rapport together is just wonderful and inspiring. 💗
Hello Miranda, hearing you talk about Enid Blyton books gave me a glorious moment of nostalgia. 🥰 In Germany we had two series called 'Dolly' and 'Hanni und Nanni' which I devoured as a child. Do you know these two? Both are boarding school stories. Thank you, as always, for such an inspiring vlog!
I love watching your videos and seeing the relationship you have with your mom. My mother was very sick when I was a child and she eventually passed. She was a kind soul like your mom. I so appreciate your videos. Thank you❤
Miranda, Thank you for sharing such personal aspects of your life. You have brought much magic to this corner of the internet. I was so moved to hear you speak so eloquently and beautifully about your mum whom is beloved by us all. What a great blessing. To witness your relationship and enjoying each other’s companionship is every mother’s dream! I hope my son will enjoy my presence as much. This was another wonderful video with more intriguing recommendations. I can’t wait to read Laura Wood’s new book this month too! I’m very excited for this month’s CBC pick. Reading Georgette Heyer is like consuming the most effervescent glass of Champagne. Much gratitude to you and Donna always.
Miranda, Thank you for sharing your story with us, so beautifully told. I have always been impressed by the love and joy in your relationship with your Mom (my Mom was my best friend ) and hearing of her illness when you were a very young child made it even more poignant. I admire the zest for life you share and how you both seem so comfortable in who you are. So refreshing in current times and what makes your channel so appealing and unique. 💕
I am so enjoying your Vlogs and an extra video each week from you. Such a treat! I was really surprised to hear that your mother, Donna, lived in Regina, Saskatchewan and that you were born here as I have lived in Regina and the surrounding farming area, my whole life. My grandparents immigrated from Yorkshire, England and I have family ties there. Such a small world. Please say hello to Donna from frosty Regina. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
I'm so glad you're enjoying the new vlogging format and frequency, and that's so interesting your grandparents went to Regina from Yorkshire! Thank you so much for your kind words and support. I really appreciate it, and I hope your enjoying your weekend in Regina ❤️
Thank you Miranda for sharing more details of your life with us and also for your moms soup recipe. My husband and I love soups and look forward to making and tasting yours. ( although I might leave a few ‘bits’ to crunch on) lol…Your life story has endeared me even more to you and as there isn’t anything quite like you and your mom on YT, and I’ve researched other book clubs on line, I think your channel deserves the support that highlights all that you’ve envisioned for it. You’ve put the ‘spotlight’ on Mother’s and Daughter’s, books and reading, and so much more….and of course ‘Yorkshire’ and the beautiful surrounding areas of where you live. Your channel is one of the highlights of my week and weekend. 😊💓
That's so lovely to read! Thanks so much for your very kind words. I'm so happy you're enjoying the videos and hope you like the soup too if you get around to making it 😊❤️
I am half way through The Agency for Scandal and absolutely love it. Can’t wait to hear your feedback. Thank you for all the time you take to put together your videos. Your positive spin on life is infectious and it is wonderful to have such a nice and intelligent channel to follow.
Thank you for sharing a bit of your background. What an international upbringing ! Your mention of Enid Blyton reminded of how many, many years ago, a girl at my school lent me her Secret Seven books. I would read one, bring it back to school & she would bring another one. At secondary school there was a girl who brought me books to read for the school holidays. That was when I read my first Georgette Heyer. I think that her family must have had an amazing home library.
Hi Miranda. I am so delighted to hear from you twice a week and I hope you will be able to continue with that schedule. Of course, I always love hearing from your dear mother too. You are two very extraordinarily kind women. You calm my soul when listening to you. Thank you. Take care.
Thank you Miranda for sharing your thoughts and your journey with us all… Your videos are always so interesting and calming. I look forward to hearing which books your reading each month and enjoy listening to lovely lunchtime chats with your Mum. Sending love to you both ⭐️🧡
Another wonderful vlog, your videos are always are such a joy and I really look forward to them ☺️. Your honesty and eloquence talking about your childhood is inspiring, thank you for the videos and all you share with us!
What happy memories this video brought for me. Many years ago I was living in Israel when I wandered into a used bookstore on a small, out-of-the-way street where, and, purely by chance, I purchased the Penguin edition of "Reunion." I liked it so much I gave a copy to my mother (who who died just weeks ago). It was one of her all-time favorite books. I am eager to hear what you think of it.
Another lovely vlog! Thank you Miranda. Your FAQ answers were so interesting and the words you said about your mum made me teary-eyed! Those of us who are very close to our mothers are so fortunate. I've been in the mood for some Georgette Heyer lately so I'll be adding The Nonesuch to my TBR this month. Looking forward to the Comfort Book Club discussion.
Thank you for sharing a bit of your and your mams story! I’m really enjoying the new schedule. It must be a lot of work, but it brings a lot of joy ☺️ 🫖
Your life is fascinating - thank you for sharing. I was read to a lot when I was a child and that is why I am an avid reader (164 books last year.) I remember my grandmother telling me that "If you can read, you can find out anything that you want to know." My question is Are you still drinking that garlic and lemon tonic?????
First off, I noticed your beautiful new Emma Bridgewater mug! Your FAQ was so interesting and heartfelt. I didn't realize how much your mum has been through. Your beautiful relationship comes through in your videos. ❤ I love soup, so I'm going to give your tempting recipe a try. You always tempt me with your book plans. I'm particularly interested in your "themed" sets. Wishing you a lovely remainder of the week.
I identified with so many things in this video ... the love for childrens fiction (especially cosy family focused stories) when I am looking for some comfort reading ... the love of homemade "smooth" hearty winter soups ... the wonderful mother/daughter friendship you share with Donna (my mother has also been living with me for the last 3 years due to immobility problems following major leg surgery and I so enjoy our daily catch-up chats and meal times when I come home from work). Thank you for another enjoyable and relaxing video Miranda. ❤
What a treat to have two videos a week from you Miranda. I loved hearing about Donna’s reading, I’m reading “Silver Sword” to my grandson at the moment, he’s loving it, though we have to stop and discuss the history quite a bit, he’s not quite 11! Thanks to you I’m about to start a re read of Georgette Heyer, I can still remember where I was when I read her obituary in the Daily Telegraph, I was devastated as she was probably my first “adult” author outside the set books at school.
Wow that was so special what you shared with us all...thank you for opening up to all your fans ..now that was beautiful... Your Mum and yourself are just wonderful strong big hearted people... Amazing video
Wow ,Miranda , you have achieved so much. You are a genius. Your parents must be so proud of you. But it shows and helps that you have been brought up beautifully. Thank you for sharing you life in such detail.🌝
Hi Miranda and Donna this was so lovely a video. I always notice your beautiful cups and hear you mention you are drinking tea. I would love to hear on one of your videos about your favorite teas.
My book pile grows with each video of yours I watch. So glad I found your channel! I read so many classics when I was younger, your videos are now getting me back into them. I have to say that Georgette Heyer is challenging me with so many Victorian slang terms. I have been needing to Google quite a bit, lol!
Hi Miranda and Donna, thank you for the FAQ it was lovely to hear about your life, very interesting. I love the relationship you have with your mum and your love of books you share. Thank you for 2 vlogs a week and your hard work 😊
I can't get over how beautiful these Utube videos are. The colors and settings and of course you and your mom. The discussions are inviting. This is really an upgrade for Utube. I pray that you go beyond Utube and into other sources of informational entertainment. Blessings.
A new subscriber here 👋 So interesting you talking about being comfortable around older people as I was (and still am) exactly the same - I’ve always felt tremendously comfortable socialising and talking with older friends and company. Throughly enjoying your content and videos - happy to have found you ❤
I had loads of picture books before I started to read 😅😁 my favourite stories as a child all had animals in it, or were about animals but I also loved stories with friendly ghosts and witches. I think the Paddington Bear books were some of my favourites in 1st and 2nd grade... I also read adventure books like Jules Verne and others from my grandfather. Then I started to read ballet books and horse riding adventures in 4th grade
You and Donna are both inspirational and remarkable women. Thank you, as always, for sharing so many things with us. I get so much out of every video 📚💐
I enjoyed learning more about you. Enid Blyton was definitely my favourite as a kid. But I also adored the All Of A Kind family books, I think as an Australian of English descent I didn’t really understand much about Judaism but I loved the family and rituals. And I have often wondered if you were named after Miranda in The Tempest.
It was so lovely to learn more about you Miranda - what an amazing and interesting life! I couldn't be more delighted that you are happy to continue doing your videos twice a week. xx
Thanks Miranda, A Pin to See the Peepshow and Au Revoir Now Darlint look like a fascinating reading pair. I'm going to add these to my wishlist! Hope all's well with you :-)
It was so nice to get to know more about your life. I enjoy watching you and your mother together. Just love it. And my stomach growled the whole time you were making that soup. Soup GOOD!! 😂👍. Love the list of books too. 📚. Have a great weekend too. Til next time, my very best wishes to you and your mum. 🤗💕💕 Thank you Miranda.
Wonderful video, Miranda!!! It's nice to get to know you better! I appreciate your honesty. Congratulations on reaching over 20K plus subscribers 🎉 I started following you when you had under 10K subscribers and am thrilled that so many are loving your content as much as I do. You're my favorite booktuber.
This has to be the most interesting Q&A I've seen on RUclips. Your whole family seems to have a story worth hearing and telling. Katherine Porter, wasn't she the one who wrote The Little Locksmith? If so, I loved that book.
Dear Miranda My second comment today I was rewatching the first part of the video Personally I appreciate for answering to somewhat personal questions I was always felt embarrassed when someone is asked about personal matters On the other hand I somehow understand it We meet you and your mother once a week in your lovely house We make trips together We talk about books You cook for us So yes Although I couldn't question anyone I quite understand it Bless you Donna Bless you Miranda xxx
Well ….. I have been getting back into reading. I love audible, but have been buying more actual books. I started finding book lovers on RUclips and I am enjoying them so much. This is the first video of yours that I have watched. It gave me such a warm feeling inside. I lived in the UK in Suffolk county for 4 years many years ago. I am American and my husband was stationed there at the Air Force Bentwater/ Woodbridge bases. I lived in a village called Martlesham Heath outside of Ipswich. My neighbor took us Americans under her wing and we became good friends. Over the past 30 years we visited each other and did traveling together. My friend Christine passed away this past June and I was devastated. Listening to you made me smile with tears in my eyes, but good memory tears. You are lovely and I look forward to subscribing and following your Chanel. You know what it is like to move around a bit. Haha! Thanks for sharing your lovely voice and attitude here. I will be going back and binge watching past videos. 👍🏼❤️
Thanks so much for your lovely comment, Sherry! I'm so glad this video brought back so many happy memories of your time in Surrey and spending time with your friend. I'm so sorry for your loss, I hope you enjoy past and future videos here too ❤️
What a truly heartfelt video, I couldn’t help but tear up too as you talked about you and your wonderful mom. It is so special of you to have shared that with us💕I so enjoyed Donna’s portion also. Especially her fiction inspired jewelry! The poetry collections are such beautiful editions. I’m not familiar with Katherine Mansfield but would also love reading the bio and short story collection together. Thank you, Miranda and Donna for allowing us to share your day 🌷❤️🌷I thank the you tube algorithms that brought your channel to my attention a few years ago, it was truly a blessing to my life.
Dear Miranda, Many thanks for the heartfelt video. I so appreciate the warmth and generosity of answers to people's questions. And your reflection on your wonderful relationship with your mum, Donna, was incredibly touching. Thank you. And I love all the books in your February TBR, I will certainly try to find the Mansfield ones. Plus, I shall attempt to make the soup too. Looks delicious! Your channel is simply the best. Have a great weekend ahead, 💟 Jason

I completely agree with you. Miranda should write novel , her life sounds interesting.
Dear Lisa, I couldn't agree more with you, I was going to write a message but yours was absolutely perfect and says exactly what I wanted to 🥰❤️
The more I know you, Miranda and Donna, the more I love you and admire you. You are such an inspiration to me in many ways ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Blessings on you and your mother 😊💕🙏
Oh!!! I love your brooch and I LOVE Miss Silver!!!
Miranda, thank you for opening your life in such an honest and encouraging way. I learn so much from your channel.
Thank you, Marina! I'm so glad you enjoy my channel ❤️

That would be fun!
Miranda; your channel is so wonderful for those of us who enjoy books, gardens, tea and a quiet enriching lifestyle. I am so enjoying the twice weekly treat of seeing you and Donna.
Thank you so much for your kind support and comments, Lynn. I so appreciate it and am delighted you're enjoying the channel ❤️
Thank you so much for your kind words and support! It means so much, and I so appreciate it ❤️
It’s very good of you to share your story, it’s amazing how we make assumptions about people and they are nowhere near the true. You are both amazing ladies. Thank you for your interesting videos. I struggle with my mental health so don’t get out much anymore but your videos really keep abreast with life “out there”. Thank you both.
Congratulations on achieving 20,000 followers, Miranda. They are all in for a treat!
Thank you so much to you, Gillian, and all my lovely followers!❤️
Hello Miranda, I just wanted to say I'm looking over some of your older videos and this one is so honest and insightful. I teared up too when you were talking about your mum! You sound like you've had a very interesting and fulfilling life so far! I so very much enjoy all of your videos, they are a beautiful escape from the mundane, so comforting and cozy. You are two very charming and lovely ladies living my dream in Yorkshire so thank you so much for your content and for sharing your lives with us.

Thank you very much for your kind words and very generous support, Pamela! I so appreciate both, and I hope you are having a good start to the week ❤️
That's so lovely to hear, thank you! Your family afternoons on Sunday sound absolutely wonderful - what a lovely thing to do ❤️
Thanks for sharing your work history.
❤ 😊Yummy soup by the way!…
I'm so happy you enjoyed the vlog, Laura! Thank you so much ❤️
Thank you for sharing your amazing life - both you and your Mom are special people - kind, smart and compassionate. Thank you again for bringing us into your home!
That's so kind of you to say! Thank you for watching and commenting ❤️
Another lovely vlog. Thank you! I love all your content, but one of the things that makes your channel special, besides all the books, things, outings, cooking, music, etc, is you and your mom. You two ladies are beautiful inside and out and your rapport together is just wonderful and inspiring. 💗
Thanks so much, Grace! I'm so happy you're enjoying my videos ❤️
Hello Miranda, hearing you talk about Enid Blyton books gave me a glorious moment of nostalgia. 🥰
In Germany we had two series called 'Dolly' and 'Hanni und Nanni' which I devoured as a child. Do you know these two? Both are boarding school stories. Thank you, as always, for such an inspiring vlog!
That's lovely my mention of Enid Blyton brought back such happy memories! So happy you enjoyed the vlog!
I love watching your videos and seeing the relationship you have with your mom. My mother was very sick when I was a child and she eventually passed. She was a kind soul like your mom. I so appreciate your videos. Thank you❤
Thank you for your kind words, Wendy!
Miranda,
Thank you for sharing such personal aspects of your life.
Thanks so much for those lovely words, Antoniette, and love the idea of reading Heyer as being similar to quaffing a glass of champagne 😊❤️
Thank you, as always, for those lovely words, Nancy ❤️
That's very kind, Dijana! Thanks so much ❤️
Thank you for sharing a bit of your background. What an international upbringing ! Your mention of Enid Blyton reminded of how many, many years ago, a girl at my school lent me
her Secret Seven books. I would read one, bring it back to school & she would bring another one. At secondary school there was a girl who brought me books to read
for the school holidays.
Thank you. Take care.
Thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing this, Miranda. It’s always so sweet seeing your and your mother’s relationship.
Thank you ❤️
Thank you Miranda for sharing your thoughts and your journey with us all… Your videos are always so interesting and calming.
Thank you so much for your very kind words and all your support, Sophie. I so appreciate it and am delighted you're enjoying the videos ❤️
What a lovely visit so sweet of you and your mom to share your lives with us.❤
Donna is very special indeed ❤️ always happy to welcome her into my home through your videos!
Thanks so much! So glad you're enjoying the videos ❤️
Miranda, I love your story and your channel. Just dreamy! Looking forward to watching all of your videos.
I am so grateful to have you in my life. Thank you, Miranda, for enriching my reading experience and introducing me to your part of the world.
Thank you very much, Elizabeth! I'm so glad you're enjoying my channel ❤️
Tank you Miranda. it always feels like having a friend or friends round for a chat. Easy, comfortable, funny, sharing, company. x
I'm so glad! Thank you Ruth xxx
Thank you, Melissa! Hope you enjoy reading The Nonesuch along with us xxx
I love getting two videos a week from you and am so glad it works for you!
Thanks so much, Beth!
Thank you for sharing a bit of your and your mams story! I’m really enjoying the new schedule. It must be a lot of work, but it brings a lot of joy ☺️ 🫖
Oh Miranda thank you that video was so special.
Wise words indeed from your grandmother! Yes, we're on our second lot!
Thanks so much, Lori!
So happy you enjoyed it, Suzy! Thank you ❤️
What a treat to have two videos a week from you Miranda.
Thank you! How lovely you're reading The Silver Sword with your grandson, Joy! I loved that book at about his age too!
Wow that was so special what you shared with us all...thank you for opening up to all your fans ..now that was beautiful... Your Mum and yourself are just wonderful strong big hearted people... Amazing video
Thank you for your kind words: so happy you enjoyed the video!
Bedankt
That's so kind! Thank you so much for your support. I really appreciate it ❤️
Thank you for sharing all those interesting details of your journey. The warm interactions between you and your mom are lovely and heartwarming.
Thank you! Most of the time we're having standard Yorkshire Tea! 🫖 ❤️
Thank you.
I just finished Winter by Melissa Hellstron, thank you. You get me addicted to seasonal reading. Thanks a lot.
Blessings.
Thank you very much. I'm so happy you enjoy my channel!
Thank you for all the sharing! Now I have to find out about celeriac,!!!
Yes, your relationship with your mum is definitely special. I wish I had that.
Miranda, I have enjoyed learning about you and your mum so much. Thank you for answering questions. I absolutely loved getting to know you more!
A new subscriber here 👋
So interesting you talking about being comfortable around older people as I was (and still am) exactly the same - I’ve always felt tremendously comfortable socialising and talking with older friends and company.
Throughly enjoying your content and videos - happy to have found you ❤
Thank you so much! ❤️
I’ve recently discovered you and am so grateful! Going to check out more 😊❤
You and Donna are both inspirational and remarkable women. Thank you, as always, for sharing so many things with us. I get so much out of every video 📚💐
Thanks!
Thank you so much for your lovely support, Marina! That is so kind of you, and I really appreciate it ❤️
Oh Miranda I’m so happy to hear that you are Canadian. Hello from Toronto, Ontario 😘
Thank you!! So lovely.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the vlog, Hilary! Thank you very much for your support. I so appreciate it ❤️
It was so lovely to learn more about you Miranda - what an amazing and interesting life! I couldn't be more delighted that you are happy to continue doing your videos twice a week. xx
Thank you so much, Sue! xxx
tfs your story . . always enjoy stories of you and your mum ❤️ soup looks delish 😋
Thanks Miranda, A Pin to See the Peepshow and Au Revoir Now Darlint look like a fascinating reading pair. I'm going to add these to my wishlist! Hope all's well with you :-)
Thank you very much again for your support! I so appreciate it ❤️
So great I loved all of the February books! It is a great month for mystery and romance! ! The soup looked so wonderful! Great Qand A!
Thank you so much, Diane! The soup is really good! xxx
Thanks so much for all your kind words and support, Faith! It's lovely you've been a follower for so long already ❤️
This has to be the most interesting Q&A I've seen on RUclips. Your whole family seems to have a story worth hearing and telling. Katherine Porter, wasn't she the one who wrote The Little Locksmith? If so, I loved that book.
Thanks so much, Alexandra! I don't think Katherine Anne Porter wrote that book - maybe an author with the same name?
Thank you so much as always for your very kind comments, Sandy! I'm so glad you found my channel ❤️
Thank you so much for your lovely words, Jason! I hope you enjoy the soup if you make it! xxx
Canada loves you!
Love and thanks to my Canadaian followers right back ❤️
