Miranda, When I click to your channel I do nothing else but watch. I do not knit, sew, eat or do crossword puzzles. I just take it all in with a notebook and pen by my side to jot down any books I would like to read from your recommendations. That's how much I enjoy watching you and your videos. Thank you so much. By the way, your hair is beautiful and your sweaters are a perfect choice for you.
I wanted to add, it’s lovely how sweet you are with your Mother. You could teach my daughter a thing or two. It’s wonderful to watch the two of you together.

Love the jumpers. I kept thinking they were "very British" I live in South Australia and we are never cold enough for such warm jumpers.
When I was a child way back in the 1970’s a teacher told me to know my limitations and play to my strengths. I have lived that my whole life. It’s served me well.

I think the most atmospheric winter book I’ve ever read is Snow by John Banville. It’s set in Ireland about a murder in a huge, freezing old manor house and it will make you feel cold even sitting by a fire!

You and your Mom's hair looks very nice. A new hair cut to start off a new year. My favorite sweater is the chocolate brown one. The other one is nice also. It always feel good to spend someone else's money. That salad looks so good. I love Brussel Sprouts, but I've never eaten them raw before. I usually cut them in half, put oil on them, salt, pepper, and garlic powder and toss them. Then I pour them on a nonstick pan, spread them out and bake them face down at 350 for about 20 or 30 mins. They are delicious.

Such a wonderful cozy and comforting vlog, thank you, Miranda. I smiled as you gathered your books because I used that time to gather my notebook and pen to write down all the ones I want to read too. I don’t think I’ve ever closed one of your videos without books to add to my lists. The Wintercombe book especially is gorgeous, as is your Christie edition. But the Year of Wonder and Another Year of Wonder are must haves! The commonplace quote is fantastic and I’m exasperated with myself that I haven’t gotten the book I started several years going again. I meant to do that after your previous video and I haven’t done it yet.

What a fabulous idea to start out every day with a piece of classical music! I love classical music and usually have it in the background as I read or do certain things around the house, but I've never started the day with it. But I will now! I'm taking this opportunity to thank you for the beautiful music you include in some of your videos! Countless times when I finish watching your videos I look up some of that music to listen again in its entirety. I don't always find the specific songs, but it sets me off on a path of discovering new music pieces. So thank you! Both of you ladies look lovely with your new hairdo's, but you both always look lovely anyway. Lovely video! Do you and your mother ever share a perfume collection? I wish you would do such a video. I liked the one a while ago on new handbags, dresses ... PS I enjoyed the video you did recently of your journey to Bath. The flat was lovely, quite cosy.
Hope you enjoy Wintercombe. I loved the quartet & remember reading it when it was published in the 90s. Also enjoyed the Heron quartet, set in the same period. I read a lot of historical fiction back in the day & Pamela Belle's novels really stood out. The love story at the heart of Wintercombe is wonderful. The author then moved into science fiction & then stopped writing altogether. I’m also pleased that you have the original edition, the later paperback covers are not nearly as atmospheric.
I’ve started Wintercombe and am already gripped!

Love your haircut, looks great! I am going to be reading more classic books that I have on my shelf-North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell and Why Shoot the Butler by Georgette Heyer. Then Agnes Grey by Anne Bronte and Mansfield Park by Jane Austen. Nonfiction read that I am attempting to read is about the Silk Roads by Peter Frankopan. I really love your book and author recommendations; they're always someone that I have never heard of before. I truly envy all the wonderful books that you have read as a child! And I was read to every night. I wish I had read some of the books you did! I truly enjoy your RUclips channel!

I've just spent a lovely early evening catching up with your two most recent postings. I am so excited that you will be posting twice per week and expanding your content. Watching your channel feels like taking a short but restorative and inspirational mini vacation. Having recently finished "The Secret Garden" (a first time read for me), I felt transported back into the novel while watching your opening segment of the walled garden in winter. I think you will enjoy Wintercombe, I read it many years ago but still have it on the bookshelf along with others by Pamela Belle - I really like her books. The series (The Heron Quartet) by her which begins with The Moon in the Water is also excellent.
She and her cat sounds charming and I can hear the Wolves of Willoughby Chase howling at me already. It's lovely to have a Sunday video from you, just the thing for a cold and wet afternoon.

I really don't know where to start with how to share what I loved about this video because I loved it all right from the start with the scenery and the quotes! I felt complete comfort throughout the entire video. Just to highlight a few things, I really enjoyed your new clothes - both looked fabulous! I also was interested in your thoughts on your morning routine - I work mostly from home now and really do struggle with routine so you have given me some ideas on how to start the day on the right track. Finally I loved the recipe and will definitely try that - it was great to see your mum join you and for you both to look so well and happy in Yorkshire.

I struggled when I started working so much more from home, and it's taken me a long time to get into a routine that suits me, so I do sympathize! Thank you for this cosy treat. I am inspired by your new year's resolutions, how they aim to spark the creative flame and feed the soul rather than "fix" something. Your new sweaters are lovely. Those jade earrings pair so beautifully with the green along the collar of the cocoa one. My mom would always exclaim, upon opening a card from my dad, “what a lovely verse!” This became code, which we all adopted when recipients of cards from Dad, for “thank you very much for the enclosed check.” I'm so looking forward to rereading 4:50 from Paddington along with the book club. It was my Dad who first introduced me to Agatha Christie when I was 8 or 9 and had worked my way through all of Nancy Drew. I agree with you about MARPLE. The Christmas story was my favorite, too!

I will dig out my copy of The Wolves of Willoughby Chase, already have 4.50 from Paddington ready for a re-read. For an appropriate January read, and for a first time read, I've chosen Crossed Skis by Carol Carnac, one of the British Library Crime Classics. I was given a Fiona Davis book called The Lions of Fifth Avenue, so will give it a go, too - set in the New York Public Library, so a good bookish treat I'm hoping! I thoroughly enjoyed it 💕 love the knits you bought, especially the chocolate brown one and I’m quite impressed by your reading ambitions for the month 😅 I fly much lower, as I’ve been sick up until yesterday and could not read a single page. I’m currently picking up again the book I was reading before I got sick, one I think you would enjoy. I suppose it could be included in the big Nature Writing family (of which I’ve been a fan since 1999) and, being an Italian novel, it’s been translated in many languages. It’s “The Eight Mountains” by Paolo Cognetti. Next I’m going to read a British book and then a Japanese book ❤ I love January, so I hope you, Donna and everybody here in the community will enjoy a beautiful winter month ❄️❤️

My very senior mother says if one’s hair is cut right, all feels right! The garden pictures, the music choices, the recipe, the stationery and book choices - and well - all of it was absolutely delightful.
