Thanks for Watching!!! - Авто/Мото
The animal sounds i use when Scumala harris talks . a lot of us thinks this is great to do.
There's so many of the stack hands and stack movers around here in western ks. You are correct and that they rarely bring much money at auctions. But moving a shed/building with one is brilliant. Now I'll probably be bringing one home. Lol
😂 it’s easy to talk yourself into one!
Like I need much talking into at an auction!!!
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
That’s a neat little find, Ross. I love how you feel about saving implements. My dad made noise of scrapping his 894-A planter and I damn near begged him not to. For one it’s an antique. For another the memories. Before he got the 7000 planter he used the 894-A with his gas 1850. When we’d go across this bridge nearby it’d go screeeeeeeeeech because the bridge was 19 feet 10 inches and so was the planter. Not only is it a unique piece of history, it has all those memories attached to it. I don’t care if it has sat out all these years. I hope he keeps it. Because, like you said, it’s history.
We had one operation here in my area that used several Heston loaf stackers. They fed about 2000 steers out and chopped the corn stalks for bedding.
I like some of these old implements too. I try to get stuff that I can use on my little farm. Since I put my corn up on the ear I have the New Idea picker. I wanted to be able to have some shelled corn so I got a MM model D sheller. Now since I have always liked to seed my alfalfa with oats I working on resurrecting an AC 66 combine.
Absolutely agree!
Thanks!
Ross believe that is a Stack mover 30. We sold a few Stack Hand 10’s, and probably one 30 in central PA during that era.
It was an innovative idea at the time.
Cool! I don’t think there were very many if any around here. I don’t know how this one even made it here.
I never would have guessed that piece. Good idea with the round bales. You might start a trend.
That’s so me, trendsetter 🤣
Ross that’s a cool trailer. I am sure you will get it going and find good use for it. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks!
Cool trailer . it was nice to here the animal sounds again. Thanks Ross. you made my day.
😂 Thanks!
Cool new toy
We have a stack hand 30 identical to that one. If you have decent tire you can get 6 bales on (I think if I remember correctly) with the faces out and run them off when you get to your stack yard. They work well. I just used the same cylinder that I use on my disk and it worked fine. Good video Ross. You’ll like that tool. Oil is your friend on those chains
You saved another piece of farming history.
One piece at a time 😂
We had a neighbor in the 60s who had a Hesston Stackhand. We let him stack some hay for us, but when Vermeer came out with their Roll Baler in the early 70s, we bought one and that was the perfect solution.
That Stack hand system was short lived, they worked well enough out west where it's drier, but here in the humid Midwest, there was too much spoilage in the stack. Big rounds also had too much spoilage as far as I was concerned but if you set them on an old truck tire and keep them off the dirt, it's tolerable. The newer net wrap seems to be a big plus, but the cost to buy one of those was more than the cattle herd was worth.
Well that stack hand mover brings back a lot of memories. I moved many stacks of hay with one the size you bought is for a stack hand 30 which was supposed to be equivalent to 100 small square bales.
Sweet bud
Thanks Alex!
Based on the patina, you don’t have to worry about shed space. 😮
😂😂😂
I'm with you on minimum effort activity. In the Air Force we had a saying, "if the minimum wasn't good enough it wouldn't be the minimum." I learned that axiom at pilot training in 1982 and it has served me well throughout my life.
that is a neat little trailer an I'm sure you can find other uses for it also
My uncle had a Hesston stacker and that carrier. He sold more cornstalk stacks than hay.
Nice toy. Saw one at a consignment sale last year. Have kicked myself more than once for not bidding on it. Same idea for moving round bales. Use to work on a farm that had a Deere stacker and a Hesston stack mover/Deere shredder feeder. We ran the stacker to the staging area, unloaded the 3 ton stack, and went back to stacking. Would load the stacks and shred a windrow in the pasture for the cattle.
Never saw one before . Should be interesting to see it work 👍
Personally, I agree with you. Some of the things people have built for various reasons are interesting. And you are correct, if it is lost to the big iron furnace, it's gone. I'm looking forward to seeing it fixed up and in working condition. Thanks for sharing. See you later.
Well I can't say I know much about those neat little hay mover. I have watched a few videos that have used square bale hay accumulators, there neat too. Good luck with it, I know you'll make use of it somehow. Thanks and have a nice day!
There used to be quite a few around here when hay was stacked loose. There’s guys that still use them to move round bales. That stack the rounds in hayfield then come back later to haul home. They back up to the stack and start the chains in motion to load on while that is happening the tractor hooked to mover would back up real slow to help the chains pull stack onto mover.
I love it! Can't wait to see it work.
Nice video Ross. Can't wait to see it working. Like you said at the worst it's another trailer. Good deal.
Allis- Chalmers roto- baler all my grandfather and father used on the dairy farm , just bringing that up as your were talking of different implements , implement ahead of there time , we would bale the hay leave it out and pick up at convenience could bale a little green when you leave them out . Ran them with faithful WD , lol 😂
Rotobaler is definitely on my bucket list!
There was a 30a and 60a stackers, where was Buddy the dog showing excitement for the latest treasure find??
There was also a hesston 10 stacker which was about a third of the size of a 30
@@seth1704 thanks for that information only saw the 30 and 60, I operated a 30a flail pickup for a guy putting up hay we put several side by side the loose filled some to use with a hay sweep on the loader to put on top to make a big stack
Another treasure to add to the collection could be slight sadness ahead
Never knew of these. Nice find. Glad it's going to be preserved. Can't wait to see it work!
Neat. Saw lots of great stuff as you were backing in
I think that’s a JD stack mover
It’s a Hesston, but Deere made some as well
@@rosstheoliverman ok. Wanted to see if your read the comments!
Excellent video again thanks for sharing another treasure
I'll bet that will work just fine for round bales
What a great idea to have a stack mover for round bales. Nice piece of equipment. Also I got myself 5 handy jacks. They are very handy.😊😊
Nice video Ross
Wow! PTSD hit me seeing that stack mover. I worked for a neighbor when I was in School who put up all his hay, straw, and cornstalks with that system. Drug many a Stalk stak into the cattle yards for bedding and had feeders that were tied together around the hay stacks.
The 1650 clutch would get pretty hot while you slipped the clutch trying to pick up a stak !
Ran a 210 and 220 Allis on the stack maker. No A/C !
We had a John Deere 200 stack wagon & a 30 A hesston stack mover. We liked to use the stakwagon for cornstalks
Ross if you bought your hitch at Harbor Freight it is metric not a true 2”. It will bump around in the receiver.
👍👍
Thanks Tom!
@@rosstheoliverman You’re welcome
I have a neighbor that has 2 of the old Heston stackers, they chop corn stalks for cattle bedding
Few of those over the years in my area. Always thought they would make a good tilt back trailer.
Ross, my father was blocked man for Heston in the early 70s and they had a stack hand 10 a stack in 30 and a stack hand 60 which was a 1 ton a 3 ton and a 6 ton stack of hay or loaf. They look like a big loaf of bread and they also had movers to correspond with all of them in the early 70s they were. I’m up here in Henry County and they were very popular this area, especially for corn stocks because you didn’t have the blower housing on the stacker would cut them and blow them up in there. Also if you would shoot me an email I have that Oliver soil pro I want to get to you so you’ll preserve it.
Cool! I thought I remembered reading your email, but I couldn’t find it back. I’ll look again but you might have to send me another email so I can find it. Thanks!
@@rosstheoliverman my
Ross if that works..........why didn't I think of that years ago. We had a neighbor across town that owed one we could have bought cheap.
👍
Thanks!
😁👍👍👍
Thanks!
Mike Less has a Hesston Stackhand and has done some videos on them.
Neighbor has the matching stack hand. You want it?? Probably buy it for scrap weight.
We call them mni wsgons and mini loafs it picks up i love useing the wagons to put hay and straw up i self feed the loaf with electric wire or a gate type self feed find your self a good wagon if can and put up a few loafs that one is the small one the big one with that little one would be to small for big loafs i wish there was lots around here id buy them all up
I've ran one of these many times, when loading a stack you have to backup as you load it or it would teat the stack apart. Good luck with your's.
Only seen one stack hand and one mover in my area!
Ross, here's the thing about a "flat tire", it's only flat on one side. LOL
Those stack movers, ahead of their time, same with the stack wagons. You got real lucky to find this. Don't quote me but I believe Hesston, JD and can't remember who else made these but, there's 2 different models, (30A and 60A), from what I can see, looks like yours is the smaller of the 2 models. Each brand had their own model number. I know here in KS, there's a lot of them still around. Yea, you're most likely going to fast, 25mph was max speed.
Well Ross, they tailgate you in hopes they'll get hit and then you're responsible for the damages...
Great video! Always enjoy your auction find videos. Not too many auctions in my area anymore. Watch Bigiron auction online mostly, however now they are adding a 10 percent buyer's premium.
That one is a small one there is a bigger one JD makes them as well i have to of them and rest are heston they work good for round bales i hauled lots of bales on them so nice it self unloads
Iwhen unloading put tractor in low gear on idealhit yout hydraulic to unload to get bales off because if you let the mover do all the work you pull the strings off your bales sometimes
Ross I know how you feel I have way to many combines Oliver and Moline tractors
Oh boy.. shopping again.. lol.
No no not anther auction. 😂
Could be anything except CO-OP tractors not enough room on the farm with all of those animals.
I buy them up all the time when i can and heston wagon that pick up the hay they seemed to disappear are hear probley scape i hauled cars wood bins but the bigger ones mine duals some i have are tandem thats a 30
Another awesome video buddy like you all of the different tools and equipment interest’s me. I sometimes stand back and look at a piece that I’ve brought home and got working and thought that I would have liked to meet the guy that come up with some of this stuff and how his brain worked. You know it’s like who thinks of this and how did he make the vision in his head come to be and work
See, you should have put the pallet from in the back, on the front!! I want to see that working!
got to strike while the iron is still hot
Hi ross I bought allis Chalmers wc I get bunch parts tires rimes muffler handcrank manifold
Hesston 30A stak mover wouldn't work on grandpas John Deere tractors. Wouldn't work on ex stepdads 1755, I had to use the ol MM G900 with open center
John Deere CCA field cultivator or a b John Deere tractor, like something that that the wrong girl you dated gave you, we all had one.
i bet that would work for round bales you may have to put on some spikes or something on the chains to grab on the bales to move the bales but would be worth a try on a different note i am pretty sure you are not that far from me i would like to make contact with you hoping that you could look for a 3 point 4 or 5 foot disk for me more eyes looking better chance at finding one
You need to stay away from the auctions you have an addiction
oil and a paint brush?
Not familiar with these, I found another video showing loading a haystack. ruclips.net/video/_c_2OqjkiL4/видео.html
Ross, you'll need a pull behind bale accumulator (simple wheeled style) and a loader grapple to grab the piles to stack up. One operator hay baling system.
How far away was this auction?
U need to sell baseball caps
I'd hate to weed eat at your place lol
😂😂😂
