The thing I love at the end is when Kendrick is asking Pac’s perspective on his poem about the caterpillar becoming the butterfly, Pac doesn’t reply because he never got to the other side of becoming the butterfly.
The crazy thing is, Kendrick was actually older when "good kid, m.A.A.d city" came out than Pac was when he died. Let alone "To Pimp a Butterfly" 3 years later.
1:27:51 and then you go to Mr Morale and the Big steppers and you get the man that everyone looked at to be their savior, when all the racial issues were going on they looked to him and wanted him to say something, and he exposes himself whole heartedly, shows all his imperfections and let’s it air out for all to see, and he breaks his savior complex and says “this is me”, and in the last song of the album says “I choose me I’m sorry,”… “faith in one man while the ship is sinking,” “sorry I didn’t save the world my friend, I was too busy building mine again” So freaking beautiful I always get emotional

New fan here, been a part of the fam since I peeped the coast contra reactions. Every reaction channel I watch consistently (and subbed to their Patreon) has done this album, and it’s my favorite of all time. This is a rite of passage for you guys and I couldn’t be more excited to watch! Shoutout buzzfam straight up!
Appreciate the fact Casey can acknowledge the artistry whilst admitting its just not for him, but not enjoying a piece that's theoretically and practically an objective 10/10 just shows he hasn't really understood it the way he thinks he has
@@gangrangshang5299 yeah fair everyone entitled to their open but I just personally can’t understand not getting enjoyment from a masterpiece if you can genuinely understand why it’s a masterpiece, still love the content though
1:28:22 Love y’all reaction to this, personally my favorite Kendrick Lamar album of all time is Good Kid Maad City, in terms of replay value for me to personally replay songs or recite songs from till this day
yall definitely should get a patreon, and yall know for albums in the future ima have to say Juice ones :P probably should do his debut album. Goodbye & Good Riddance
The whole story to this album is so insanely put together. The fact that the poem plays into every next track or current track is mind blowing. For an example, he’ll say “found myself screaming in the hotel room” and then u starts off with him literally screaming. That’s just something little because EVERY single thing you hear in this album is important, even the adlibs. You’ll hear in King Kunta “ay Kendrick back in the hood?” It’s setting the scene of where he currently is or even on u with him in a hotel room after smashing the guy’s wife and feeling disgusted with himself where you hear the cleaning lady in the middle of the song, or even on For Sale? where he runs for answers (literally) and you’ll hear him heavily breathing. This is storytelling in its pinnacle and it’s so easy to miss. I’m not even mentioning how the butterfly plays into all of this. THERE ARE SO MANY LAYERS PEOPLE.
amazing reaction gs! for a future album to check out, i'd definitely say Rhyme Asylum - State of Lunacy or Jehst - The Return of the Drifter, two amazing albums 10/10
That ending always gives me goosebumps, I recently realized that the very last thing Pac says before he disappears is "we just letting our dead homies tell stories for us"
Kendrick visted South Africa 🇿🇦 which inspired this album. RAND = South African currency. [A Zulu Love] is a direct reference to A Zulu Tribe in South Africa. He also references Nelson Mandela and needless to say 🇿🇦
Y'all straight up forgot to give Terrance Martin credit! He co-produced this album along with playing the saxophone throughout! He's been around since Section.80
Durrty Goodz brother Crazy Titch (who Ghetts mentioned in his Daily Duppy the other day) has dropped a new track from prison a few hours ago called "Insubordinate" and is 🔥 #justice4titch
This is my favorite album of all time. Check out the DISSECT podcast to figure out the mystery’s around the poem, Lucy, Uncle Sam and how this character that Kendrick portrays overlaps with his actual life and his past work
YOOOO we need that new new from Yeezy and Ty Dolla Sign! The album Vultures just dropped earlier this morning and it has some features from Travis Scott, Playboi Carti, etc. I think you would really enjoy Carnival, Fuk Sumn, Problematic, and Burn. Some songs really give you that Old Ye feel that we’ve all been waiting for! Can’t wait for the reaction! Keep it up guys! Cheers Buzz Fam! 🍻
Can yall do the cilvia demo by Isaiah Rashad? I think you guys would both love it. It may have a bit more replay value in some songs than some Kendrick songs from TPAB while maintaining some of the value in story and message. Also a TDE guy if you haven’t reacted to him yet
Kendrick put a legendary band for Tpab. Thundercat, Kamassi Washington, Flying Lotus Anna Wise All have phenominal albums, and collab in the hard Jazz, Hip hop electronic scene in LA. This is just being a fan. I'm from Washington State.
The amazing artistry continues. In Untitled Unmastered, an album that really grows on you. The cool thing is Kendrick's music as a fan in replayable, as his emotions can make you embody songs, universally even it if African American Art, about the experience of African Americans, it has so much richness, and color in the music, it surrounds you. The concept always lands for me, and the man is really The Holds no barred most genuine vulnerable geniuses from our time. Always grappling with his faith, family, and fame. Even back to Section 80 in 2011 even to Overly Dedicated, and Kendrick Lamar EP and underated 15 song mixtape from 2009 which is his true official start. Pand P is a proto ADHD/Swimming Pools featuring Ab Soul
This was such an amazing band that was put together!! And I love Thundercat, Flying Lotus, Kamassi, Anna Wise has an amazing voice, and we can’t forget Robert Glasper he was part of this mix as well! This is what drew me into Kendrick and from TPAB I went down the rabbit hole and that’s why I’m convinced that he is one of the best! Every album he has is different, he never repeats himself
Here is my piece of the bargain,if music has to win over that means you're not the target audience honestly cause you can't force a person to be interested into something they can't relate to or have ears for and that's just how it is🚶
We all come from different backgrounds but that does not give a person the right to discredit music they do not understand that's not fair to the real fans of hip-hop and to the artist himself as well as the release of pain he gets from this songs(but unfortunately we are all entitled opinion but all I ask is we use it to it's greatest degree and not as a weapon)
Make sure you guys listen to "verb t & pitch 92 - lie low Feat. ocean wisdom & DJ sammy B-side" i think items very likely ocean wisdoms best verses in my opinion
What's up fellas, . New sub here. . Was wondering if I've ever checked out anything from Plan B, a UK artist? . . If not "Who Needs Actions" wld be a great one to react to. . Also The Streets, "Dry your Eyes" . Just a really good song. . And look into a group called The cunning linguists. . Album "Broken Van" . Anything off the album I guarantee you will dig.

Pac sadly died inside of the cocoon.
Man I didn’t even clock that till u said it. Wow

I always loved the vinyl sound he added to the beginning of Wesley's Theory so dope that yall really use one for the reactions
holy SHIT im so excited for this reaction
You and I both 😅😅😅
the "one verse could fuck up the game" is also a reference to Kendrick's controversial verse on Control in 2013
I still love that Kendrick and Pusha made Nosetalgia almost immediately after the Control verse.

Or maybe he has his own opinion and does understand it but just doesn’t like it??

Can't please everybody
So you just watch these reactions to see people agree with you huh? Mad.
i LOVE TPAB but there's no such thing as objectively good or bad when it comes to art, like music. your preferences are your preferences
1:28:22 Love y’all reaction to this, personally my favorite Kendrick Lamar album of all time is Good Kid Maad City, in terms of replay value for me to personally replay songs or recite songs from till this day
Hyped af for this, it's great seeing people experience the journey for the first time.
Holy shit, no replayability? Wild. Fuckin wild. Institutionalized is such a good song.

Listening to a song like the blacker the berry after having listened to Mr morale and the heart pt 5 makes it hit even harder for me.

This is my favorite album of all time. Check out the DISSECT podcast to figure out the mystery’s around the poem, Lucy, Uncle Sam and how this character that Kendrick portrays overlaps with his actual life and his past work
After listening to that podcast I’m convinced there’s not another rapper ever that could produce an album like this

Kunta was referencing Kunta Kinte. He actually went to jail for some of his music in Africa!
so early the timestamp comments aint come in yet
The song King Kunta.. Anderson .paak would fit perfect on that song as a feature. I feel they have similar cadence and flow sometimes. Even the voice.
