- Actress Michelle Yeoh, who rose to fame in Hong Kong action films and gained international attention as a "Bond girl," is a frontrunner for an Oscar nomination for her performance in the trippy "Everything Everywhere All at Once." As a woman almost 70, I think she does not realize what a treasure she is to all women over 60. I love that she is still kicking A at her age. I bought the digital copy as soon as it was available. This is what an Oscar performance looks like. I love her being the star. It is so right.
And she could still fold me into a piece of origami if she wanted too..

I don't think I have ever wanted an actor to get the Oscar more than Michelle Yeoh. Having seen Everything Everywhere All at Once, it was a masterpiece of acting. She richly deserves it.
Unfortunately Michelle Yeoh won't win. Only one non-white woman has ever won Best Actress in 95 years, Halle Berry. Viola Davis was the supposed frontrunner twice before for The Help and Ma Rainey but she lost to two white actresses who had two Oscars. It's the same pattern with Cate Blanchett who already has two Oscars.

Everything everywhere all at once is the most original and creative movie in recent years! The two rocks scene made me crying in the movie theater!!
Just the stones scene? I was crying through like half the movie!

Oh, it did elevate the film to even greater heights. Michelle said recently that the rock scene was her favorite.

I really felt it when she says "It's like when someone gives you the opportunity to show what you're capable of". It's not often that you find someone that believes in you and gives you a chance...and then delivered such a great performance. I am really glad she is getting her moment now.

I love her. She's is the definition of Cool and sweet and classy. I've watched her since the late 80s 90s. I never realize how charming she really is bc all her films she portrayed as either spies or fighters. She's is so precious. Gotta love her.

I was shocked when she said she couldn't have kids, can't imagine how that must feel to her. But she is strong willed and immensely talented.
As a woman who has struggled to have kids, I appreciate her willingness to admit her infertility publicly. People can be VERY judgmental and insensitive about it, which is incredibly hurtful, so a celebrity of her stature pointing out her own heartbreak is doing a service to others.

Michelle Yeoh is 60 years old to those who are not familiar with her. She was born in Malaysia and went to Hong Kong to act. That's where she made it big, talented , action, drama, comedy she can do it all. From then on, she never looked back, just kept going forward. Michelle deserves an Oscar for her role in Everything , Everywhere ALL at Once. Or a Lifetime Achievement Award at least. Asians are so proud of her and an inspiration to us. We love her whether she wins an Oscar or not.

I worked on Everything Everywhere All at Once during pre-production (locating scouting) with the Daniels, cinematographer, etc. (never got to meet Michelle unfortunately). Michelle deserves all of the awards and recognition she's getting with this film. Excited for her to win the Oscar!

Michellle Yeoh deserves to win the Oscar.
Fan since Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, then the Bond film, and then Memoirs of a Geisha, and now what a career resurgence -- so glad she stuck it out, and yes, represented -- and well! Hopefully this does help with combatting ageism (feel it myself in the workplace and I'm only in my 40s!) by giving opportunities for people from all walks of life. The directors saw her potential, and hopefully it does lead to an Oscar nom!
I remember her from Supercop, an incredible movie. But, yes, Michelle's been in some of cinema's best films. She deserves the renewed acclaim.

I adore Michelle Yeoh and I wish CBS would have sited her EXTENSIVE film history outside of Hollywood and her rolls in Star Trek, the MCU, etc. too. She is more than a 'former Bond girl' and has more films than just CTHD and CRA.
She’s incredible as an actor and human. In “Everything Everywhere” timelines, her character is Time Magazine’s Person of the Year. Talk about irony. Also, she was really good in Star Trek: Discovery which no one talks about. I hope she wins an Oscar.
When I saw the movie after a few minutes I called my brother and tell him: this film should win a bounch Oscars... This is one of the most treasured movies of my life... like life itself... I cried, laughed, was touched, remembered, hoped and lost... an emotional roller coaster. Now when I heard Michelle's morning prayer with her body, to her body, I cried again... Thank you Michelle for everything... ❤🙏
A masterclass legendary woman. Amazing. Those that came before her in Hollywood that endured so much would be so proud of what she has done. I truly believe this is just a drop in the bucket. Change will come to those that deserve it most.

I've been watching her since I was kid in the 80s in Hong Kong. I just remember that one year she got into a very serious accident because she did most of her own stunts. It's unimaginable the kind of success she has achieved and she totally deserves it. I love this film, but to me nothing beats her role in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. That was just epic.
She almost died while filming "The Stunt Woman" (1996) on what was a "relatively easy" stunt for Michelle.
After her 1st action sequence in CTHD, Michelle tore her ACL. She was still injured when she filmed Chow's
(Li Mu Bai) death scene. She was so marvelous in that scene, that Ang Lee had to cry in private for 15mins,
+ referred to her brilliant acting as "1 of the most precious moment of his life".
I truly felt in 2001 + still now, that Michelle should have been nominated for CTHD - her portrayal of Shu Lien
was reserved, but powerful; poignant; deep; nuanced; - she was indeed the "the merciful dragon". (Lee also said Michelle carried the film - she carried all the burdens + obligations.)

Recent major successes in Hollywood are achieved by women, Michelle Yeoh, Cate Blanchet, Sigourney Weaver, Margo Robbie,...to name a few. And the fact that some of them are in their 50s and 60s - beautiful, full of energy, talent and wisdom - sets such valuable and supportive examples for women across industries and around the world.

Cate Blanchett’s performance in Tàr was one for the ages, carrying the best reviewed film of 2022, and will be remembered decades from now among the greats of his era.
