    You're an awesome Dad, Mark. The true treasure is the moments spent with the ones you love. Even better when you have one on one adventures. Weston needs to find a woodworker who can turn "Sticky" into a walking stick. My Papa used to make walking sticks and a Marine friend of my Dad's (RIP❤️) made a cane for my Dad years ago that my Mom gave me after his death. Special memories are made from special moments. Yah's Blessings ❤️

    Hi Ho!! Hi Ho!! ALASKA BOYS GOLD RUSH is On!! I was expectin Weston to taste his hatchet like Yukon Cornelius in the Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer movie. The memories are pretty great on this trip. I love the picture of our Alaska Boys Prospectors. Weston is really starting to contribute to camp set up. He might be able to carve a little with his Birthday present in that walking stick. Or make a little Totem Pole Story about your Adventure. Don't forget the part about Dad worrying about the Bears while you slept soundly.
    Thanks for taking us along. Never went Gold Prospecting, hope we can do it again sometime.

    Wow this was another really cool adventure! I was envisioning earlier settlers doing this while u explain the mining process. If anyone did strike gold would that even be public information? Is there a certain amount that you have to claim were u mined it? Just curious if I stuck gold, I'm telling NOBODY! 😂😂

    • @AlaskaBoys
      @AlaskaBoys  Год назад +2

      Most the public lands mining spots are on old mining areas that have played out from a commercial standpoint, but still have a little color in the dirt. I probably wouldn’t be making videos if I struck it rich!

    Nice vlog. Aside from gold, Alaska is Bear country as well isn't it?. Aren't you worried about your safety. Seeing your kid with you my guess is you've visited that place many times before. BTW this is my first time watching your vlog.

    • @AlaskaBoys
      @AlaskaBoys  Год назад +1

      Bears are definitely on my mind when going out like this, especially along a river with spawning salmon which attracts bears. We actually saw a large grizzly while flying home, about two miles from our campsite.
      I usually bring a firearm or bear spray. This was a little scary of a spot because the noise of the river makes it impossible to hear animals, even if they were close by.

    just upgrade the Keene box to the super with legs and the classifier. I know it costs but the time saved by set up, weight, and trying to classify stuff is money well spent.
    I am too recreational gold panner, but I went from using the stock a52 . but got sick of classifying with screen and bucket. switched to an electric min-max and that was good as it did classify for me. took a chance and upgrading to the new KT10 trommel just to make it more relaxing. Just to let you know, I still use the a52 with the trommel but with the upgrades it does catch more gold.
    loved the vid, wish I could be up there, I get to go gold panning once a year but want to make the most of it. My point is , upgrade the slues to the a52s, ... you will not regret it.
    Thanks again. um.. when are you going to invite me to go with you.. :)

    • @AlaskaBoys
      @AlaskaBoys  Год назад

      Sounds like a good idea. Classifying takes a lot of time. Where do you prospect for gold? What region?

    Being in Alaska, one would think that there would be a lot more gold in your pan. I watch the “Flour Gold Wizard” who is based in the extremely scarce gold state of Wisconsin, and he comes up with as many as 50 flakes of gold per pan, especially on the beach of Lake Superior.

    • @AlaskaBoys
      @AlaskaBoys  Год назад +1

      I’m no gold wizard, so that might be part of it. Also, most of ALaska doesn’t have much gold, you really need to know where to look. It’s a big state.
