I met a couple last year that told me they netted 10 1/2 oz in one day on the beach in Nome. It was all in amalgam form but they were able to safely cook off the mercury.They knew or at least met Alex when they were there.

I've never done the beach but I have 4 years dealing with creeks. My goal is to hit the lake superior beach to get the experience in preparation for Nome. Living in Green Bay it's only 4hrs to the lake. Can I run a 24in by 4ft sluice in Michigan?

seems like the beaches are the same world wide,, the trick i found is test, test and test some more, not many beaches i have worked are safe to drive on,, ALEX sure is a hard worker and a damm smart one to boot,, loading the bed of the truck is alot easier then the 5gal. bucket at a time,, thank you guys for taking us along! that was great

Very interesting video. 1gram is worth approximately 72.00. X 11 each 792.00 each. Not bad for 3 truck fills of black sand. 22 grams in total. Nice haul for a rainy day. However it’s very expensive to live in Nome.

My creek is in Luckenbach tx . I get 10% come dredge the creek. I have a 1/4 mile of gravel.

Im with you on using the miners moss. Your truck your gear your fuel, I would not have split the haul with Alex. 12 miles and hes not paying the fuel, better off on your own bud. Ive been to Nome on several occasions work related wish I could have mined some. Liking your videos bud.

On the beach in Washington you dig a hole 3 to 4 feet deep and there's a solid 6 to 8 inch thick black sand pay layer that way better than anything of the top is it like that there in nome or is it better of the top
Gold is all over. It's just too hard to go deep with a shovel. Better to get the ez stuff in a short time.
When you going back to Nome I really want to go

Hey Bryan, Im confused about something. When you went down onto West Beach it said no camping, no storage right? And then there's Alex and others, camping and storing stuff? O.o That is super confusing.

Spent the 90s working Bethel, Nome, and Kotzebue. Case of Deet, couple cases of Pic coils and lots of coffee and I'm good to go.

🤔 Just wondering 🤔 why not move camp to the Gold area? That's a lot different than dredging the 40 mile,10g not 10oz.
Its hard to get water from the shallow ocean for the pump. The hose will suck sand from the bottom.
In my opinion It's better to bring some fresh water to the paydirt and recirculate. That cold salt water creates to many bubbles to catch the majority of fine gold.

Great video! I have a question. I live in a area where I also do some beach mining and I am wondering what the size dimensions of your beach box is? The one I use is 12” X 6’ and the feed rate is very slow. Looking to improve on it

Is the gold deposite mostly coming from the ocean or is it coming from the tundra,or a bit of both?

Tis a shame about the mindless vandalism in the town. BSG doesn't show the other side of life in Nome when then indigenous people come in and get blind drunk before causing ruckus. I found a lot more out about the area whilst researching Iditarod.

How would a guy get to come and dive for people in nome? I would love to try my luck there if you know of anyone needing someone with experience dredging.
Just show up at the dock and ask around, is the best way to get a job.
