I feel like because your running fines, you would really benefit from using miners moss, even just 1 section of your sluice. Folks all over the world go and dig gold on beaches and set up extremely primitive sluice boxes, but how they succeed is the miners moss and running lots of material and all by hand. 👍

Bring your box closer to your work I never was any more than 3 steps from my outfit . It was easy to move and on wheels . Lots of Proper prospecting helps loads . On river sand bars I would dig shallow shovel wide trenches perpendicular to the waters edge and away from the water. The trenches would be about 10 feet apart . one would shovel the skimmed material into a pan till full . pan then continue . This method would delineate your pay streak .Flour gold was what was the target and one would look for 150 -200 colors per pan before setting up . Material was classified on a curved 1/4" screen Collecting the flour gold was 98% caught on just old wool blanket NO riffles . Yes it works in fact the wool blanket tray was on a 24degree angle . Although the sluice was set up to catch other types of gold . It seems in your area beach mining, one looks for garnet and a layer of clay ? .

Yes red garnet sand and black sand holds the best gold. Thanks for watching!

Thanks Bryan. I would be curious to know if you could dry vacuum up the high grade beach sands. It would be like using a river dredge with water, but with a dry vacuum supplying the material. A shop vac on steroids would work, even though you might have to shut it off briefly to spill the material into a dredge hopper.

Just an idea and maybe you tried it already, but why couldn't you take an "inner tube" (what ever) and strap the end of your hose to it so it stays in the water and out of the sand? You could dedicate one section of your hose and leave it permanently attached and just fill in the rest to your sluice. Just thinking out loud:-)

Why not reach out as far as you can with a foot valve into the ocean and see what you can suck up and catch in the sleuth? I'd get the longest reach possible and pull back slowly maybe and see what gold you might suck up. Heck, maybe you could use some type of styrofoam and float it out there so it would float around while its dragging below sucking up? If you could make this work, it would make it so easy to get the gold.
