It’s good these days that so many people are willing to show us their trails and tribulations of finding gold ❤
Trials
Nice work guys, I can't wait to dredge one day. I have the perfect idea of where too. Sweet video, thanks for sharing. All the best
Absolutely. Thank you so much for the comment. If you have any questions or just want to bounce ideas (good and bad) off us let us know.
Buen video saludos mineros
Thanks. Hope you are well
Nice start for the year guys. Hopefully you'll hit a nice pocket next time and get some ounces!! Great video!!
🍺⛏️⚒️
Thanks! That is what we are hoping. It was strange, I thought once we saw signs of previous mining in the creek we would end up with just a few tenths of a gram.
@twodudesonedredge yes, gold deposits are strange. We can only move just a couple of feet and hit a pocket like we are searching for. Good luck guys!
Nice take. I got my first use of a 6 inch. Was able to withstand the cold water for an hour. Hands and exposed part of my face. Definitely need a hot water system lmao
That, or a dry suit. That’s how we did it for the first couple of years.
La traps like a lot of water
Seems to work pretty well. Maybe this season we will catch all the tailings and see how our recovery is.
Have you used your blaster to cut through clay layers ,? I have Keene 6 inch dredge and used blaster to desolve clay to pick up micro sized gold
Do you have the 6" mini like us? I wonder if our dredge would even capture gold that fine.
2 girls and a cup, way better video 😂😂😂
Thanks ? 😂
2 girls 1 cup
Actually we are 2dudes 1dredge
Was afraid they'd go all brokeback.
Is that like a yoga pose ?
2 dudes 1 bed
We use cots in the wall tent. They are pretty comfy.
I think it was 2.1
So a little over a penny weight?
I'd try digging up some of that clay . It could have gold in the top layer of it. Being it has decent size rocks in it! Depending on how hard it is. Maybe use a auger in a drill while dredging! Only catching the chunks a bucket or trough at the end of the sluice! Or use a concrete drill and drill out enough to get a hammer and chisel to break out chunks! As a kid I used to dig up a dark grey clay in a creek! It was about 10' below ground level ! Below the red clay soil we have in the Appalachian foothills . It was loaded with a fine gold grit. Like a sand slightly more coarse than the clay. I use to make stuff from it! Sit it up on the roof in summer it has to been 150° or better , that year it was 95-101°, it would get hard , not as hard as fired clay. It would hold shape after getting wet. it could dry again keep it's shape. I figure it was iron pyrite in the clay we had a ton of black silt in the area! The sinks, toilets. , washing machine, everything would get silted up with the black sand from the well. And it was only ,300 yard from the creek. And 300' deep on a slight hill so I would guess the bottom of the well was roughly 40-50' below the creek. No more than ,80'-100'. I know there is very little gold in this area, no one said here id NONE! The amount of clay I dug up, id say there was probably 1/10-2/10 of an gram of gold in it. (if it was gold) . Not sure how much clay was there it was not easy to get! It was below water, covered in red clay soil, with creek sand and gravel over it! I had to dig up under the creek bank to get it. The creek was in a valley and had come across the field over the years so I was digging in the old creek bed. It was above the new bed yet below water! It had creek gravel and sand over it then about 6' -10' of red clay soil. I'm curious if there was any gold in the clay. It had the fine black sand, all the gold mines are further east from here. It's been 30 years+ so who knows it is definitely not enough to mine if it was
How far east are the gold mines? We should sample that. Thanks for watching.
Decent 1st day guys, hope u kill it this year.
We are giving it our best shot.
You earn it
Awesome 👍
Appreciate you.
No man flab on camera 🎉
I think that is an appropriate rule.
@@twodudesonedredge it’s ok to rock a dad bod I have a sleeper bod myself, high performance under the layers of fat.
Frickin awesome no I don't want to know were your claim is but would you tell me like what area like is it peters ville or kenai I'm in peters ville area thanks and keep up the enjoyment mining for valuable uncommon minerals 🎉
Shoot me an email !
That's pretty good
It was definitely better than I expected after evaluating the spot in the river.
Awesome stuff guys ,your doing well Arrrr
We are trying. How are you ?
@@twodudesonedredge I'm in recovery from cancer ,I'll be back by Christmas. Thanks for asking my friends
Wyatt Earp moved to Nome Alaska sometime after the big shootout. He made his money by runing a bar & gambling establishment...later he retired and moved back to California.
You ever been to nome?
Actually, Wyatt Earp went into the mountains with his wife and 20 mules loaded with supplies and came back out the following year with the mules loaded with gold and then opened a Bar in Nome.
Eddy where did you learn about this stuff ?
@@twodudesonedredge It's been a long time, but a very long and detailed documentary on RUclips.
I’ll have to check into that. Thanks for sharing.
Very cool very video what part of Alaska do you guys dredge in I’m very new to dredging maybe next year I’m looking to get a claim I need to understand dredging before
It's a very fun way to go after gold! We're in central Ak, it can be hard to find a good dredging claim. Need to look for stuff with shallow bedrock, we have a vid from last year where the over burden was 15 feet deep, almost impossible to dredge. Good luck!
@@twodudesonedredgeIk where ur at over near denali 🔥
@@riversharkprospecting8882 hope Alaska
I’m going try a little higher up this weekend if I don’t find much then back on the hunt I go thanks so much
I'm betting only one sleeping bag.
We made sure to bring warm sleeping bags so we can each use our own.
Do you sleep on site or break down every night???
We a pretty nice camp setup that we leave up most of the summer. A big canvas wall tent and some other comfort items.
I would want my buddy watching over me while I had my head in the water.. All it takes is one hungry grizzly bear.
The noise of the dredge usually will keep the bears away and more bear attacks happen from brown bears which have been known to actively stalk people.
Yeah we keep firearms close but have never felt compelled to carry one down on the river. I have spent time while my partner was diving thinking about the scenario if were ever to come up. I would have access to some high pressure water that I suppose may deter the bear. We saw one just outside of camp this past summer. I worry more about our stuff than ourselves most of the time.
@@Randy-dm5tg the dredge motor keeps the critters away. Having someone to keep the sluice clear and tailings moving is nice. I run a 5 inch dredge solo and it's a bit of work
Yeah the tailings pile up fast with a 5 or 6”
@twodudesonedredge question sir do you break camp down every night or do you run a day or 2 before, TIA
Try other end of gravel bar
We ended up going all the way on that gravel bar.
Catch any fish
No. We have only ever seen little baby grayling while we are dredging.
I was looking for 2 girls one cup but this will do.
😂
That’s not this.
Just joined, looking forward to video
😂😂😂😂
Do all rivers contain gold? ❤
I don’t think so. But it’s always worth a look.

That didn’t even cover gas and wages, and freaking dinner
That’s the way she goes some times
Act like bear bait ? Lol there are huge brown bears up there !!
Brennan saw one last year. He thought he saw a second but I said it was a mosse and...... I was right.
face down underwater in a creek in Alaska in springtime? i think i'd want my partner sitting alertly on the bank with a 12 gauge pump and a .44 magum!! not snoozing in the truck!😮 🐻
We haven’t seen many bears up there. Guess it only takes one. Still trying to get them on video but it always seems too slow to catch ‘em
@@twodudesonedredgeWould a bear really come up close to something as loud as a dredge? I would imagine that noise would keep them away from an area... still gotta be cautious im sure! ✌️

great video. only one question tho... who did those tats on your fingers? looks like a 3rd grader with a crown did that.
besides that love watching
Those are done with intentionality. That’s a particular style and we are super happy with them. I do have some bad ink I got when I was 18 though. Luckily it’s on my back so I don’t have to see it.
