Then start selling buckets of "paydirt" when you know the average you got in the past, do a little math and you're pretty much guaranteed a big pay out. Takes a lot of the risk out of it.
or even better, you go through and do all the panning process yourself, get all the gold from the dirt. Then just shovel in some random dirt to a bucket, weigh out a specific mix of your pre-sifted gold, give it a good mix and ship it off. as some others have pointed out, the very low amount of magnetite (the black magnetic sand stuff) points out they've already gone through the process of running it through all their industrial machines themselves on site and just put some gold back in with a few shovels of dirt from the site.

Nice. Ya just gotta love panning for gold. I've got some coming for my family this Christmas along with a new pan for everyone. I've also got 8 five-gallon buckets of concentrates that my son and I prospected when we lived in Alaska. We prospected all over Alaska and I expect 2 to 3 oz of gold in each bucket. That's our average anyway. It's gonna be a fun Christmas. My wife and daughter in law have never panned before. Nor has my Grandson. Pans and paydirt for all to learn how. I can't wait. And Merry Christmas to y'all.
This is what all my rent money gets spent on. 😂 My landlord is obsessed with buying paydirt. Dudes a wicked good guy though so It's not like I care what he does with his money, he charges me a VERY affordable rent. Can't complain at all. Still cracks me up though I work my arse off so he can play with dirt. 😂 There are worse things in life, I approve.
I honestly can't believe people buy buckets of dirt for thousands of dollars and think they'd ever make money back. Even IF the vendors were honest, that's still playing the lottery.
I live in Alaska and all the people I know who pan for gold in the many public places for it. Use those classifiers. They are very popular here. Not sure what brands they are using but that is the style.
Yeah these classifiers will last forever unless you lose it. A little pricey since they're individually handmade in a small welding shop in Michigan (veteran owned family business) and I've been promoting their product ever since we completed the prototypes and final design.
Just my opinion, but they definitely "failed" the honesty test. It looks like a good/fun dirt to go through. Just wished they would give a guaranteed amount. Sorry that you lost out so much, but the community is very grateful to you for these tests & reviews!
Possibly. But it is also possible that they're honest when they say every bag/bucket is its own thing. Perhaps they just have the pay dirt and indiscriminately put it in their products. So maybe some will have significantly more.
they absolutely tossed that giant nugget in your bucket .. I have NINE videos to catch up on … I won’t comment as much I was just playing catchup lol fkin RUclips
Awesome video Shane, I would be willing to say that this was a fair test. They are definitely trying to be honest and give you both an awesome day of panning for gold as well as a decent ROI. Keep up the videos and I will continue watching.
I like the classifiers, one thing that could be added to them maybe is some Handi Grips for bucket handles, looks like close to same size... That said, my thoughts on paydirt bags... MOST miners end up selling their gold at 75-85% spot price.. IF, I sold dirt bags.. lets just say for 500 bucks, I would put 500 bucks worth of gold... That way, the consumer gets their moneys worth in gold, only paying shipping, and hopefully buys more, does reviews, everybody wants some, I sell out.... Every one is happy and I got spot price for my gold... plus, lol, a lot of my gold is -400 lode gold, so I could make bags for beginning panners or level 5 experts that want a real challenge... 🐐
He didn't say, anything about a gain. He said "a little over 50% ROI". You're strawman argument doesn't hold water bro. You're arguing something he never even said. Apparently 24 other people didn't listen, either. 🤦🤦🤦 What he said was exactly right. 100% factual. His return on that investment was a little over 50%.
@@J.C...you couldn't be more wrong. ROI is a measure of profitability. Saying you have a 50% ROI means you made a 50% profit. So when he stated he had a 50% ROI, he is saying he made a gain. He should have said he had a negative 50% ROI
@CarlosPfister you're both wrong. If there no profit, you don't even use the term "ROI". It doesn't even make sense. And that nonsense and inaccuracy in language is what is causing the dispute in claim.
1:04 you could buy an ounce of gold or you could buy a bucket of dirt. What kind of degen gambles on “pay dirt”. Am I investing in Scratch tickets next lmao
I don't really feel like it was salted. When you're dealing with chunkier gold material, there will be naturally higher volatility. True, the larger volume should mitigate that to some degree, but the actual gold size means a small difference in the number of pieces will cause a much different number in total weight.
Hello bud, stats would say you need more individual samples than one of each you can say you had 22 lbs but you only had two buckets. 20 individual bags would have been better test than a bulk 20 lbs because 20 individual samples have 20 chances to be different. while the 20 lbs in a bucket is just the average of 20 individual lbs. the individual bags would have also given 20 chances for honesty and dishonesty. i would say at this point there is a bad correlation between your decoy control and the experimental sample you bought but not enough data to make any conclusion. great vid

@@J.C... He says it in the video. It's one bought under a different name in case they fill his order with extra gold to make it look good in his videos, therefore tricking his viewers into thinking it's a better deal. The decoy one acts like a 'normal' order, so it creates a baseline to compare.
The decoy was ordered in someone else's name, not Klesh, so that the seller would not know it would be reviewed and would be sending that person the same thing that he sends to all of his buyers. By Shane using his real name, the vendor, knowing Shane is a paydirt reviewer and wanting a good review, may have added more gold to make it look like his paydirt was richer than what he actually sells.
I remember going to western NC as a kid and buying buckets of dirt to mine sapphires and rubies. We did find stuff and sometimes people would find rubies worth a lot. But the places made more selling buckets of dirt than mining sapphires and rubies. A bucket then was $5, I bet it's a lot more now.
So how do we know this dirt is actually from the source they are saying it's from and it's not just dirt with a predetermined amount of gold in various sizes mixed in?
Believe me, these vendors know exactly the amount of gold going into every product. There's a spreadsheet behind the operation. Especially with Gold at $2700 per ounce. Thanks for watching

(I named him,so 🥰🤣)
I just wanted to Say Thank you to Klesh for putting out these videos! I am a New subscriber to the channel, and I just purchased my monthly subscription to your Paydirt
I think would be cool if you made gold guitar picks. Like taken from the gold of these companies and turned it into something that u could sell or keep
I think a Gold Guitar pick would be too soft .
@kevinshobbyroom3932 , I agree would deff be soft , but wouldn't necessarily have to be used to play with , would be more like merch or collectable type thing
I think a 10 kt gold pick might be hard enough to play with but instead of playing the guitar with those picks he could attach them to his guitar builds instead
Would be cool guitar neck inlays if you could sliver the big nuggets.
I really enjoy these videos Klesh! Much appreciated.
I would love an extended version of this! I really enjoy just listening to the background music as I watch the water gently wash away the gravels! The water rushing down the sluse! Thanks for the content and consideration Klesh! Happy Holidays :)
Noted!
i didn't even know this was a thing I could do?!?!?!? Fun video!!!
whoever just emptied the wallet, count your days....
I WAS 1MIN OFF FROM YOU
dammit! I saw this vid was on premier but I was doing something else and decided to watch it later. I guess I'm an hour or two late. Just caught the easter egg and scanned. No joy for me
I have no idea how I ended up here but I find this process fascinating
Hopefully he watches my videos to know what to avoid. Thanks for watching
That's hilarious! 😂
The "I" in ROI stands for investment. This is the opposite of that.
Wow, you really took one for the team, great reporting! Thanks
Our pleasure!
I don't understand how you don't have a million subs yet, you're content is gold!
*dad joke laugh* nice
“I’ve done the digging …now you can buy the dirt!”
I honestly can't believe people buy buckets of dirt for thousands of dollars and think they'd ever make money back. Even IF the vendors were honest, that's still playing the lottery.
Well… here is a random video I happened to click on and now I’m on eBay looking up gold panning supplies… this was great!
Hi Shane, great to see this amazing work plus Crusty and a special appearance from Auto. Brilliant to watch as usual. All the best. Chris in UK.
Just my opinion, but they definitely "failed" the honesty test. It looks like a good/fun dirt to go through. Just wished they would give a guaranteed amount.
Sorry that you lost out so much, but the community is very grateful to you for these tests & reviews!
He could have had $4100 in gold and that’s probably free shipping.
I watched til the end :-) Great video
Legend!
So what you’re saying is we should use your name if we order from them 🤣 Kidding kidding. But yeah that was obvious dishonesty from the seller.
Hahaha
Lol, I thought the same. Although I don’t think they’d fall for someone living in the UK called Ed Klesh 😂
Possibly. But it is also possible that they're honest when they say every bag/bucket is its own thing. Perhaps they just have the pay dirt and indiscriminately put it in their products. So maybe some will have significantly more.
Just stumbled on this but gotta say from a business perspective it's pretty genius to sell buckets to people lol
It is, but it's even more genius to figure out how to get a Customer base. Thanks for watching
they absolutely tossed that giant nugget in your bucket ..
You're incorrectly calculating ROI. $1135 of gold collected out of a $2000 bucket is loss of $865, which is a -43% loss not a 50+% gain.
He didn't say, anything about a gain. He said "a little over 50% ROI". You're strawman argument doesn't hold water bro. You're arguing something he never even said. Apparently 24 other people didn't listen, either. 🤦🤦🤦
What he said was exactly right.
@adamworden9014 you can have a negative ROI. Look it up.
@@adamworden9014 returns on investment can be either positive or negative.
DIY gold prospecting drama is not what i expected on my feed today but here we are.
@2:18 - "You gotta' keep um separated. HEYEYYY!" - The Offspring "Come Out And Play"
This right here is gold itself lol
Man been a fan of the channel for years , I do a bit of California prospecting here and there always love the content brother !!
They juiced your bucket! That much $ should not be anywhere near 50%.75% is borderline ok.
This is the only way you can make money painting for gold. Thanks, RUclips.
Excellent content, buddy
UK squad reporting in 🇬🇧
is it chewsday yet?
Still aloud.
$2,075 for the bucket, $1000 worth of gold found, $1000 for the experience. PRICELESS.
1:04 you could buy an ounce of gold or you could buy a bucket of dirt. What kind of degen gambles on “pay dirt”. Am I investing in Scratch tickets next lmao
Hey...you gotta be in it to win it
The buckets gave a nice hiss
I don't really feel like it was salted. When you're dealing with chunkier gold material, there will be naturally higher volatility. True, the larger volume should mitigate that to some degree, but the actual gold size means a small difference in the number of pieces will cause a much different number in total weight.
I fail to find who's the greatest morron here, the guys buying paydirt, the guy making paydirt videos or me watching paydirt videos.
This is so cool! Never heard of "pay dirt" before XD
Early Crew Where you at ❤
First
14:08 in so far ! lol I’m right here
My step dad was a prospector in Maryland. He dried and scoped his black sand looking for garnets and other gems after he extracted his gold.
Thank you brother this saves me time
Thanks for the video! It was fun to watch :)
Hello bud, stats would say you need more individual samples than one of each you can say you had 22 lbs but you only had two buckets. 20 individual bags would have been better test than a bulk 20 lbs because 20 individual samples have 20 chances to be different. while the 20 lbs in a bucket is just the average of 20 individual lbs. the individual bags would have also given 20 chances for honesty and dishonesty. i would say at this point there is a bad correlation between your decoy control and the experimental sample you bought but not enough data to make any conclusion. great vid
I found you! After 4 years of searching “Guitar Dude finds gold” you randomly pop up under a Cody’sLab video.
Welcome back \m/
Ok let’s start the argument here in the comments. What’s the better investment; Gold or Bitcoin?
Haha hey Ross - we both know the answer to that one :) It's always Plan B
Also: Senator Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming has proposed selling a portion of the United States' gold reserves to fund the purchase of Bitcoin for the "Strategic Bitcoin Stockpile," a program announced by Trump in July 2024 at the Bitcoin Conference. The US will be purchasing 1 million (of the only 21 million BTC in existence) Bitcoin in the next 5 years, plus the 283,000 BTC (or something close to that) will be held by the US. And people don't even know yet - we are so early.
Gold simple ✨️ 👌 💛

Yes everyone, be centralized and connected to the block chain.
Every transaction, every micro-profit based on holding for more than a year, all reported and taxed in-between the micro-transactions taking small Percentages of what you have every time you move anything.
The least anonymous, most trackable currency in history.
Nothing could be hidden or lost ever again.
They've watched dormant Wallets for nearly a decade and the moment a sale was made on those coins They were notified at once and connected to their bank accounts.
I like this and now grandma can't hide anything under her garden bed.
Lost in a boating trip 7 years ago?
The block chain will keep track of anyone who touches it no worries.
The only way to profit off these buckets is to sell them or open them up on video with ad revenue.
You are very respectful when doing reviews like this. When paired with calming music its nice to watch very polite and honest shade thrown towards shitty merchants once in a while. Its like regular youtube but asmr-esque and easy to wind down too while still keeping my attention. Thanks for the content.
Been watching you for several years all ways fun watching your prospecting videos and pay dirt videos watching from Cartersville Georgia 👍✌️🙂
Great video. Thanks for sharing Shane👍👍
I remember i had to do plumbing for a women's pool, she lived in a very hilly area. I had to dig a little to get to all the plumbing under the pool but remember when everything was wet and pool water was running out the open pipe washing the dirt I saw tons of shinny gold flakes . Grabbed a hand full and showed the old timer with me and he said it was gold. Kinda wish I took a couple buckets of dirt home
I'd never buy anything like this, but it's good to know people who would can see this and avoid getting scammed
Rather prospect here in Wisconsin for some flower gold. It's fun and don't take much money but at the pump.
That was interesting, thanks. My first and only experience, 20 yrs ago, my husband died while gold panning in the mountains in Calif. The only thing I have left is he little plastic sucky bottle. Would love to find gold some day.
I'm very grateful that you did this before I or some other dummies fell for this scam!
What is the significance of the one marked decoy?
Who knows? We got no explanation and no one has repied since I asked the same thing.
12:30 add a few drops... adds a 2-second stream of jet dry... I love it... keep up the good work!
Thanks for another panning video! Sure seems like they "accidently" added a few more grams to your bucket. Either way, fun to watch. Thanks!
You don’t.
Believe me, these vendors know exactly the amount of gold going into every product. There's a spreadsheet behind the operation. Especially with Gold at $2700 per ounce. Thanks for watching
I can't believe that not only do people buy buckets of dirt but there is a whole industry for it. Lol~
OOOOOOH My Goodness!!! Wow I would really struggle to put that much money into a video!! Thank you for sharing!!!
Thanks for watching!
What I think is that you'd need to test far more than 1 bucket each decoy/non-decoy to come to any conclusion about whether they are intentionally ripping you off.
Sumbitchn youtube unsubscribed me just seeing this now. Good think I check weekly on my favorite channels. Holy crap shane I'm commenting before the end of the video 4k no Guaranteed amount you are a mad man.
