Not with a family an bills no way, as said not looking to get rich but least come out fairly even even like you said 5 600 but that's a few months rent easy for a price for 1 bucket
How gullible can anyone be to believe that these "paydirt buckets" are anything other than NON-gold bearing dirt with a fraction of what you paid thrown in?
Problem is that there a few variables potentially at work that mean it's hard to come to a definitive conclusion. If the product is truly what they 'dig up and chuck in bucket' then its totally feasible that one may have more than the other - unless we know they are adding gold to each bucket then you have you can't be totally sure. Additionally, it makes little sense not to have a minimum amount guarantee if they are adding gold. . We are also assuming they know this channel and that a video will be made. And if they do know the channel then they would know there is every chance an honesty test might be done on their product so they would be better off leaving it as standard. At face value, with the decoy containing about 25% less gold then, yeah, you could assume the non-decoy has been given more gold. However, a sample size of one for each doesn't really prove anything either way. It could just be natural variation. So, I'd probably say this company is buyer beware for the time being.
I just found your channel and this is the first video I watched, it’s a really cool channel!!! I’m just getting into panning, any advice for a beginner?
@ definitely man, first of all welcome and if you're interested in treasure hunting, you found the right channel. Just search for klesh gold panning tutorial, that's the best advice I can give. Hope it helps and yeah have fun!
The non-decoy one had more nuggets and they were bigger too. The decoy one had a lot of smaller gold. It definitely looks like they increased the amount and size of gold for the one they knew was going to you.
I love that you do the Vendor honesty test. I really appreciate how honest you keep things on your channel. Hope you had a happy Thanksgiving! Keep up the hard work!
Dude I'm soo glad to see you reveal this, definitely not an honest vendor. Hopefully this video finds the right people and saves money for the ones who are interested in this hobby. Awesome content as usual bro
I can't believe Felix is still in business.my son bought from him some 20years ago. Back then he was promoting the nugget bag.remember it's a business.
I would love an extended version of this! I really enjoy just listening to the background music as I watch the water gently wash away the gravels! The water rushing down the sluse! Thanks for the content and consideration Klesh! Happy Holidays :)
Just my opinion, but they definitely "failed" the honesty test. It looks like a good/fun dirt to go through. Just wished they would give a guaranteed amount. Sorry that you lost out so much, but the community is very grateful to you for these tests & reviews!
I think would be cool if you made gold guitar picks. Like taken from the gold of these companies and turned it into something that u could sell or keep
@kevinshobbyroom3932 , I agree would deff be soft , but wouldn't necessarily have to be used to play with , would be more like merch or collectable type thing
My friend had similar experiences as you had with the decoy bucket. He was VERY disappointed. BTW The grey heavy bussing trays from the restaurant supply stores are great for panning water.
I’m going with dishonest, 50% vs 75%! No way these buckets were not seeded. Gold values are too damn high. Ergo, vendor must know how much gold is in each paydirt bucket it sells. Consider the following. $1000+ worth gold from every .025 cubic yard (volume of a 5 gallon bucket) of dirt equates to an over $40000 per cubic yard mining operation! Selling paydirt would be a ludicrously ridiculous waste of time in the above scenario.
dammit! I saw this vid was on premier but I was doing something else and decided to watch it later. I guess I'm an hour or two late. Just caught the easter egg and scanned. No joy for me
I live in Alaska and all the people I know who pan for gold in the many public places for it. Use those classifiers. They are very popular here. Not sure what brands they are using but that is the style.
Yeah these classifiers will last forever unless you lose it. A little pricey since they're individually handmade in a small welding shop in Michigan (veteran owned family business) and I've been promoting their product ever since we completed the prototypes and final design.
I like the classifiers, one thing that could be added to them maybe is some Handi Grips for bucket handles, looks like close to same size... That said, my thoughts on paydirt bags... MOST miners end up selling their gold at 75-85% spot price.. IF, I sold dirt bags.. lets just say for 500 bucks, I would put 500 bucks worth of gold... That way, the consumer gets their moneys worth in gold, only paying shipping, and hopefully buys more, does reviews, everybody wants some, I sell out.... Every one is happy and I got spot price for my gold... plus, lol, a lot of my gold is -400 lode gold, so I could make bags for beginning panners or level 5 experts that want a real challenge... 🐐
The lack of magnetics and black sand are a giant red flag for me. This is more like a lightly seeded bucket of tailings from their own clean up prosess.
My take? In terms of honesty, someone who does not guarantee any type of gold would most likely be fine with adding additional grams to a well known name in the Paydirt industry. I've seen all your vendor honesty videos as of this point, and really looks like planted gold when compared to other companies. Thanks for sharing Klesh, here's to hoping companies like this choose to make better choices with the way they treat their customers.
The ROI should be higher for a high price tag bulk item like this. They profit a lot more off one transaction even with higher ROI than when selling smaller bags. This was essentially a rip off even at a 75% ROI. Nugget buckets should be at least 85% ROI.
Possibly. But it is also possible that they're honest when they say every bag/bucket is its own thing. Perhaps they just have the pay dirt and indiscriminately put it in their products. So maybe some will have significantly more.
First time watcher I subscribed I really enjoyed your video I'll need to go through your catalog now great work BTW gnarly axe on the wall behind you was it a BC Rich
Awesome video Shane, I would be willing to say that this was a fair test. They are definitely trying to be honest and give you both an awesome day of panning for gold as well as a decent ROI. Keep up the videos and I will continue watching.
Hello bud, stats would say you need more individual samples than one of each you can say you had 22 lbs but you only had two buckets. 20 individual bags would have been better test than a bulk 20 lbs because 20 individual samples have 20 chances to be different. while the 20 lbs in a bucket is just the average of 20 individual lbs. the individual bags would have also given 20 chances for honesty and dishonesty. i would say at this point there is a bad correlation between your decoy control and the experimental sample you bought but not enough data to make any conclusion. great vid
It worked, but someone beat you to it. First come, first serve. Hint: All videos are published for patreon and channel members before the general population on youtube.
That was interesting, thanks. My first and only experience, 20 yrs ago, my husband died while gold panning in the mountains in Calif. The only thing I have left is he little plastic sucky bottle. Would love to find gold some day.

Hey Klesh great video! I didn't make it to Casa Bonita the day I was supposed to go there was a snowstorm and they closed so I'll be in Denver another day.
Klesh, as always I enjoyed the video and seeing what you think of the sellers and their “Honesty”. I have one big question… around 26:35 there was an ad saying that I have been chosen to win something ( yes I know it’s a scam) but how do they put these things into your videos? I haven’t seen them in anyone else’s videos. Anyway I wanted to bring it to your attention in case noone else has.
@@Brooks0511 actually I tried to go back to it but I didn’t get to it. I appreciate what Klesh does and I hope someone will win it. I thought it was a scam so that’s why I mentioned it, in turn I took myself out of the game 🌪️🌪️
I don't really feel like it was salted. When you're dealing with chunkier gold material, there will be naturally higher volatility. True, the larger volume should mitigate that to some degree, but the actual gold size means a small difference in the number of pieces will cause a much different number in total weight.
I'm not saying they are a good or bad company, but scientifically you need a minimum of 3 samples each to draw a fair conclusion. For all you know, they were filling hundreds of bucket at a time and you just happened to get 2 buckets from different parts of the source (however they have their setup).
Nice. Ya just gotta love panning for gold. I've got some coming for my family this Christmas along with a new pan for everyone. I've also got 8 five-gallon buckets of concentrates that my son and I prospected when we lived in Alaska. We prospected all over Alaska and I expect 2 to 3 oz of gold in each bucket. That's our average anyway. It's gonna be a fun Christmas. My wife and daughter in law have never panned before. Nor has my Grandson. Pans and paydirt for all to learn how. I can't wait. And Merry Christmas to y'all.
100% The threw in extra for the Klesh name. One of my really good friends has been buying bags & buckets from Felix for 15 years now and even though he knows there are better sellers, he and most likely other buyers buy from Felix for the Nuggets. I used to buy from Felix but I’m gonna struggle to buy from them. The 50% isn’t terrible for me but this video shows what their customers mean to them. Some are more important than others I guess
I don't know. It's hard to do the vendor honesty test anymore because all the big name vendors selling paydirt anymore have caught on to you lol. I've had the absolute worst experience with this company. We're you able to determine if that dirt actually came from alaska? I live here and it doesn't look like alaska dirt. Also because of the postage. Seems gimmicky to me!
I feel bad that there are probably uneducated people out there who buy these big buckets and expect a ROI when there's no minimum gold. Thanks for spreading the word.
Tough to say from a 1 time sample, beause if its natural and they make buckets from digs it can be random like that. Based off of what ive seen you, vogus and paulie have had happen you can move a foot and get off the gold. It looks like they salted it but if you can do this again you might have to see if it happens again the same way.
I'll explain in the next video, but basically it has nothing to do with "where they mined it". They of course add the gold afterwards, and they know exactly how much. Thanks for the comment!
If the company is just scooping up pay dirt and not guaranteeing it, it stands to reason you may have one bucket with more and one with less naturally. It doesn’t necessarily mean they gave you more on purpose.
I think it would be interesting to do a test of buying 3 of something. A decoy, your name and address, and then your name or YT name to a different address. We all know these companies over pack ones that will be reviewed on YT.
I know nothing about gold prospecting , but knowing how businesses work I suspect the gold piece's were planted in each bucket., Would that be a good haul for a 5 gallon bucket if you were panning in the wild ?
What's your decoy purchase process? I assume these companies aren't very high volume and would notice two similar orders going to the same region. Does decoy deliver to the other side of the country before you order your personal bucket? I'm just curious
I have several decoys, both inside and outside the US. I actually pay twice for shipping on the decoy bag or bucket, since it comes from out of state. I don't count that in the video of course
What do YOU think about the results? Would you spend $4,150 on paydirt, or is it too risky?
$3950 ROI... My guess
3,000
The only paydirt I've seen in person was bought was from you. We were pleased with what we got. It was a lot of fun panning it out.
@Klesh not good at all there is os many good people to buy from
Not with a family an bills no way, as said not looking to get rich but least come out fairly even even like you said 5 600 but that's a few months rent easy for a price for 1 bucket
How gullible can anyone be to believe that these "paydirt buckets" are anything other than NON-gold bearing dirt with a fraction of what you paid thrown in?
These pay dirt companies are in the business of making money ,not giving it away.
Yeah now they have this alloy that looks & weights the same but it's useless
😂 such a genius idea though
They definitley salted that one for you klesh, If i'm gonna spend that much I'll fly out somewhere and prospect myself.
If you can, it's 1000% always a better option to get out there and find it yourself. Thanks for the comment!
Problem is that there a few variables potentially at work that mean it's hard to come to a definitive conclusion. The non-decoy one had more nuggets and they were bigger too. The decoy one had a lot of smaller gold. It definitely looks like they increased the amount and size of gold for the one they knew was going to you.
You're incorrectly calculating ROI. $1135 of gold collected out of a $2000 bucket is loss of $865, which is a -43% loss not a 50+% gain.
I love that you do the Vendor honesty test. I really appreciate how honest you keep things on your channel. Hope you had a happy Thanksgiving! Keep up the hard work!

So what you’re saying is we should use your name if we order from them 🤣 Kidding kidding. But yeah that was obvious dishonesty from the seller.

Lol, I thought the same. Although I don’t think they’d fall for someone living in the UK called Ed Klesh 😂

That was great Shane! Thank you!
They juiced your bucket! That much $ should not be anywhere near 50%.75% is borderline ok.
Been watching you for several years all ways fun watching your prospecting videos and pay dirt videos watching from Cartersville Georgia 👍✌️🙂

No worse than the coal mines i worked in (lots of black dust) and I'm still kickin!
It’s only dirt
Thanks for another panning video! Sure seems like they "accidently" added a few more grams to your bucket. Either way, fun to watch. Thanks!
Great video nice gold I think they put a little extra gold the one you bought compared to the decoy bucket anyway thanks for sharing klesh
Great video how about crater of diamonds video but you have to stay till you find something😅
Been planning that since 2019

very well done proccess i like the kinda content
I do have a bunch of these "vendor honesty" tests here on RUclips, and have more on the shelf waiting for review.
Way too risky. I've learned my lesson early in my career. Thanks for doing this so others don't/won't!
If I was a paydirt vendor I would send a totally honest bag, since they should know if you are ordering in your name, someone else ordered one too!!
@Klesh I love that, wonderful way to order the decoy completely disconnected from you. Love the videos, been watching on and off for years!
