At least the tanker trailer piece was included with these Hasbro releases. Third Party company Fans Hobby sold all their trailers separately from their Masterpiece versions of the design. Great review as always, Death!
In all fairness that was a Masterpiece-level Laser Prime &the trailer is a massive thing that unfolds out into a table-consuming base. I think they just banked on some collectors not caring to pay an extra $100+ for the trailer & sold them separately. The trailers got rare for some time but did get reissued.
@@DeathReviews Closed it's about the same size as the MP-10 trailer(it even has a small adapter to let MP-10 pull it). Open it's a good 18" wide & sticks out far, with the disc launcher, missile launcher & giant center cannon. You need a roughly 2' square table to display it properly.
@@DeathReviews stop sign, paddle, lollipop, no matter what you call it it's still a more accurate description than an axe, even Jason from Friday the 13th on the NES had a more accurate looking axe despite his looking like a giant toothbrush.
I am sorry to have to correct, oh robed one.. but the use of Scourge as the black "clone" predated "Nemesis Prime" by two years and a full series in America. I think by 3 years in Japan. "Nemesis Prime" was the generic rename.
Just found out they're doing a Target Prime with the same mold! I still think this one is the best looking of the 4 Lasers, so glad I found it when I did
Great review Death!! I still call this guy by his Takara Tomy name "Black Convoy" to avoid confusing him with G1 Scourge. lol I saw that Galaxy Shuttle is returning along with Cosmos in 2025. :D Keep on being amazing.
Great review! Thank you! This is the version of that mould I most wanted, but could never find, because Wal-Mart's distribution is terrible in at least two states where I've lived (Georgia and Ohio). I hope to get him, someday, but we'll just have to see how things go. Would also be nice if some nice third-party person would either provide some add-on kits or an entire new trailer for him to replicate the original's feature-heavy battle station mode.
⚡️⚡️GREAT STUFF⚡️⚡️I’m glad I found your channel I look forward to seeing more of your videos📺 I do mostly TRANSFORMER Stop Motion 🎬📸🎞️ I hope you enjoy my animation‼️ 4:44
It's nice to get an endorsement from Official Transformers! ;). Stop motion looks interesting, but I've got the minions working on other things at the moment so I can't devote any time to trying it out. But that doesn't mean I can't enjoy yours!
@@DeathReviews I nearly mentioned that but it is funny to ponder how "what is the acceptable repaint" line seems to be to some degree related to "Nostalgia". I.e. Smokescreen and Bluestreak as well as Prowl is "OK" But Barricade using the same mould might ba a "Maybe" to some people as he's not an old enough character. They might also skip Nacelle for similar reasons too. I think that is a real sliding scale, I guess that is why Hasbro tries to trick people with pre-paints like Detritus into buying things more than once.
Scourge actually did sell well. It was just Walmart's ignorance as to why these showed up at discount retailers. Even Cosmos showed up there, if that's any indication. 😮.
Well, Cosmos got snapped up at the discount stores as well. But I guess the joke is on ALL of us since it's one of the figures they'll be re-releasing next year (if rumors be true)...
Living in the EU, it's almost impossible to get this one without shelling out double or even triple the price, which is sad since i love Nemesis Prime / Scourge
Eh, never could get into this design. A full third of the truck mode turns into shoulder pads that look like giant speakers. It’s as if Transformers crossed over with the movie Say Anything, and John Cusacks character just became a truck and integrated the speakers into himself…
They got the colors a bit wrong, the torso should be gray. The Hasbro designer who planned it even admitted that he couldn't be bothered to spend 15 seconds looking up a photo of the original Black Convoy toy to get it right but he... um... "honored the rich history of the brand" or something. It was a bunch of "yeah I messed up but I worked hard so you have to like it anyway" PR drivel. I did pop things apart(actually easy to do) & painted the areas silver then sealed with an acrylic varnish with some black mixed in. I'll send you pics when I dig it out again. And if not for Hasbro's desire to reuse those Siege Prime legs again, they could have made a much simpler toy with better shoulders. The G2 Laser Prime was already well-articulated & only needed a few extra joints to be modernized, but no, make it more complex to transform & make the arms worse to reuse those legs again, all because the legs don't collapse in so the cab has to fold around them to compensate. I think they generally sell poorly for not being great toys, I mainly own them as I'm a bit of a sucker for "Optimus Prime with trailer" stuff. We're getting it AGAIN as another Target exclusive set, in G1 Prime colors(like the old Spychanger Scourge recolor from the Universe line) with the Earthrise box trailer. Meh. Visually it will look similar in truck mode to that Volvo Prime that came out last year(the one that had its mold used for the Holiday Prime) so I won't be getting one.
Yep, I’ve pretty much had my fill of this mold! I’ve even put their trailer accessories in storage, just because I want the shelf space for other things….

Sorry Hasbro, that "axe" still looks like a giant stop sign, even if Scourge is one of the last individuals I'd trust as a crossing guard.
If it were octagonal, yes it would be a stop sign! Now I can’t unsee that!
