Toxitron was supposed to be in the old Universe line as a G2 Laser Prime recolor, bu tit was when TRU was folding & no other retailer wanted it so it never happened. We've had some exclusive official recolors via Botcon & some 3P, this is the first major retail release of the character. Toyhax stickers will help turn the hollow trailer into a better base mode. There are some 3P upgrade kit options for this mold series. Several gap fillers for the back legs, though these do block off the sword storage(but you still have that in the trailer). I have one that came with small metal smokestack extensions though I have been unable to slide them on. They may need the paint sanded off, but I worry about them being easy to break off. Matrix Workshop has kits to give it a better sword, the G2 laser gun & some trailer base enhancements. Some swords based on the old RTS deluxe Laser Prime sword, if you really want that for some reason... some oddball armor kits just to visually bulk up truck mode. DNA has their own kits. I've also seen one for Toxitron that had Toxic Avenger stuff like the plunger(one of the Botcon ads mimicked the movie poster).
I've put the trailers into storage boxes simply because they take up so much space and I don't think they 'contribute' all that much. So I'm not inclined to pick up kits and add-ons for the trailers which would have them taking up even MORE space ;).
@@DeathReviews I'm surprised Fans Hobby hasn't released their own Toxitron... or the weird E-Hobby Ultra Magnus version, like they teased, as they just reissued Prime & Black Convoy. That's the best G2 Prime version made but it & the trailer together will run you about $250 & its base mode needs an end table to display.
It’s a good figure. Wasn’t really into the laser prime colour palette, but I do have Scourge. The toxitron one have a really nice balance in colour shame the main neon green doesn’t actually glow like the painted parts.
I'm glad I have the Scourge repaint of this. Black suited him far better, I think. Also got the upgrade kit to make his tanker into 90s style overcompensation firepower
@@Magni_Prime Given that I've put the trailers in storage, and only have the figures on display, I probably won't be bogging down my shelf space with any kits - but thanks for the heads up!
I'm hoping someone makes a mop accessory for him to bring the toxic avenger homage home, considering third-party companies already made a plunger to homage his botcon 2011 version.
Neat Fact: the Tower for the base mode can be detached and used as a Underslung Cannon for the Robot mode, due to it being connected by a five milometer port and the tabs on either side fitting inside either arm perfectly
I never bothered with Laser Optimus Prime or got around to opening RID Scourge so this guy was my introduction to this version of the mold. Overall minus some weird dust that got mixed in with the clear plastic of my figures eyes I think he’s awesome. As usual great review, dude!
Excellent review! Thank you! This looks like exactly the kind of thing I'd really like -- along with the Nemesis Prime version -- but they just came along at a time where my budget wouldn't allow them. Maybe someday . . . .
Well, hang in there - if I had to hazard a guess, there could be a lot of Toxitron figures in the clearance aisles eventually! Tons of yellow Grimlocks if nothing else...
You know what death, you just popped a thought into my head (fortunately you didn't poop it into my head)... so anyway if Walmart wants to sell Hasbro's Toxic wears... maybe they could sell a wave or two of Toxic themed Gi Joe Classified too ? There is the likes of Cesspool and the Toxic-Viper or even Toxo-Zombies and Zombies, as some are a bit wary of the Zombies being in Gi Joe if they were quarantined off in their own line perhaps that would be a good idea and a way to get the theme out quickly. Though I can't say if Walmart would want to take a $200+ Septic Tank exclusive or not. I think people would be low keyed horrified that they'd risk the viability of the vehicle line by releasing what some would see as Clearance fodder only. Anyway I have Toxitron... he's "OK" it's nice to have a representation of the character I guess. & The Constructicon green colouring is nice enough.
Supposedly there is a Target repaint of this due that has the Earthrise Box Trailer instead of the Tanker Trailer. From what I understand it is decorated like a Target truck. I wonder why they didn't just use the Volvo Mould though ? But then I'd rather have that Mould used for more distinct alternative colours. Maybe Volvo won't let them use it on a Deception though, which would be a shame.. if that keeps happening. As that VNR Prime would have made a very pleasing Scourge/Black Convoy/Nemesis Prime option.
Time to drop a bomb: he's a better Optimus clone than Nemesis Prime. Cooler color scheme, neat backstory, Frankenstein's Monster vibes, etc. Alot there to sink your teeth into. Whereas Nemesis Prime has, ironically, only been an actual character when he wasn't named Nemesis but Scourge or Black Convoy.
I'll be reviewing the Scourge Velocitron repaint soon. The minions found that on discount at Ross! Granted, it's just the colors that are different, but I have a hard time resisting something dressed in black... ;)
@@GAMEPRODELTA I tried fitting a 1/12 scale hood/robe onto him. Sadly, those colossal things on top of his shoulders make it impossible to get his arms through the sleeves. Ah well!

Yes, I was disappointed that the green plastic didn’t glow under black light, but the painted parts did. What’s up with that?
"... between whichever mode you find less disagreeable" is incredibly accurate lmfao

You're not alone, sir! The minions actually found the Scourge version at Ross for like $15. I'll be reviewing that one too...
@DeathReviews if you can spring for it, I highly recommend the DNA kit I mentioned. In every way Toxitron goes 90s neon, Scourge can go edgelord
