I can't stop laughing. All 16 years of my veterinary experiences came back to me and I saw my life flash before my eyes, and all I could think was "Man, how did he so effortlessly make that jump on to the table??"
This deceptively sweet brunette clearly has superhuman strength. She subdued a hostile 175 lb. feline multiple times while casually narrating. Forget the table she could have hurled him through the ceiling.
I broke a little when he threw the fit rolling around on the ground, but I was full on cry-laughing when he was running around the room. I would have killed to see him squeeze into a tiny corner behind the water pipes or under the wet table like lose fractious cats always do. 😂😂😂
Crazy to think this video has been here for 4 years and it just went viral in the last 24 hours. Congratulations on the exposure Darian, whether you wanted it or not.
Yeah, that was from me! posted it on Reddit a few days ago, posting with the username clamsumbo... pretty cool to see the views increase tenfold in less than a week.
Wow they're both such good actors xD She's acting like she's literally handling a cat, and he's doing such at good job at making me forget he's in fact human xD lol Fun way to teach without an actual cat under stress! good job guys! ^.^ I laughed and learned
If the “cat” was truly committed to his role he would have sprayed the entire treatment area with urine and feces when you dragged him out of the kennel with that pole.
no, first he would have reclined in the corner and - with pin point accuracy - sprayed urine in her face. then, after being snared with the catch pole, it would have engaged in a truly terrifying alligator death spin while leaping into the air thus freeing itself of it's restraint. only then would it have left a trail of destruction before leaping up the wall to discover the drop ceiling (which this practice does not seem to have installed ), and discovering an egress into the ceiling disappear for two weeks.
I think the kitty stand-in did a perfect impersonation! People think it's funny but this is actually how some cats behave. I have seen cats LITERALLY hit the ceiling. Not fun for us, our Dr or the patient.
Same, I've only been working at a vet hosp. for about a month and I've literally seen several cats freak out majorly but 2 main cats absolutely flipping lose it. One was literally last night as we were about to leave a cats' kennel was opened and he jumped and ran around the place like he owned it and his IV fluids flew EVERYWHERE!!
Your 'cat' is adorable, is he up for adoption? ;) In all seriousness, excellent job finding an effective way to demonstrate these techniques without needlessly traumatizing an actual kitty.
It's 2021 and I still go back to this video just for a good laugh. You guys did such a good job. I had a cat like this before and that acting describes it best.
This is the most accurate and hilarious video I've ever watched of what goes on inside a vet's office when you are dealing with cats! Bless and thanks for the laughs!
This was posted in a kitty Facebook group...can’t believe it’s real lmao! Soooooo funny and you should have been on the red carpet Sunday to collect all your Emmys lmao!!! The dubbed in wet farts were just the drippy icing on this unbelievably hilarious enactment. Y’all the best🙌
oml wasn't expecting this lmao, best instructional video ever, looks like they had fun making this, I'm looking forward to m job in a vets office now 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I work for a company that provides Low Stress Handling training to vets and other pet professionals to be able to deal with pets in stressful situations.. This is funny as hell!
Perfect example of why no-stress feline handling methods are so desperately needed. I was hoping at the end they would show a "better way" after illustrating the awful results with shield and catchpole.
Honestly in a normal sized cat, the first method with 2 humans would have worked. They would probably utilize the blanket instead. It allows you to keep the cat from seeing what is happening and you can "burrito" it and restrain the limbs. It's imperfect. But less scary than the alternatives. We almost never ever used a catch pole on cats at the shelter or vet office I worked at. It's so high stress. This was clearly filmed more for laughs and to let people know that there *are* tools to use. When I had to take care of a stray who lets me pet him but I was not sure I could pick him up safely, I just used a towel. He responded very well. The towel can also be used when administrating certain kinds of care if you have two people. In his case he had some kind of gum or tar stuck to his fur and skin on one leg. so we used the towel on most of him, but opened it over the leg so we could pour apple cider vinegar on it to dissolve it. He did not like it but, hissed and tried to bite but because I had him held down and control of his neck he could not. He's super friendly now. Either way. I'd rather take the risk of using gloves, shield or blanket than a catch pole.
Not no stress, but less stress. Kitty should have been administered an injectable sedative (ideally prior to being removed from his own kennel). A cat that fractious should NEVER be given an enema without sedation. As a veterinary professional, I cringe watching this video.
That is priceless! I laughed so much. I miss vet teching. I had so much fun and learned so much. Human nursing is no where near as interesting or fun as VT. You guys got the cat behavior right on target. LMAO.
Been a shelter volunteer, the Male playing the cat was great! That was funny but good with the towel. Have seen newer volunteers get badly scratched and drawing blood trying to handle an uncooperative kitty!
I can't stop laughing. All 16 years of my veterinary experiences came back to me and I saw my life flash before my eyes, and all I could think was "Man, how did he so effortlessly make that jump on to the table??"
I had the same though about him jumping of the table.
Just like a real cat!
This deceptively sweet brunette clearly has superhuman strength. She subdued a hostile 175 lb. feline multiple times while casually narrating. Forget the table she could have hurled him through the ceiling.
Southernblode, he is a feline, of course he can jump onto a table. duh. ;)
Cannot stop laughing
Poor kitty needs a beer.
Haha! Correct!!
Shot of blue juice****
Maybe a bit more than a beer...
i lost it when he started running around the room lol
I broke a little when he threw the fit rolling around on the ground, but I was full on cry-laughing when he was running around the room. I would have killed to see him squeeze into a tiny corner behind the water pipes or under the wet table like lose fractious cats always do. 😂😂😂
i died to and bursted out laughing when he started running around and jumping on things. Lmfao
"now we can administer the enema" "REYOWAR!" .... I'm dying
Same!! I was almost freakin howling! Bwahaha!!!
Me too! 😂
When you were destined to be the greatest actor to ever live but you end up as a veterinarian.
He got that subtle low growl at 1:32 as she approached so accurately. 😂
You can tell he’s spent a lot of time around cats.
That's clearly a sphynx cat, judging by the lack of fur.
😂😂😂😂
glowworm2 lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Give that man an Oscar!
She gets one too, for not breaking! She never laughed once!
What man? I just saw a woman and a very unruly cat!
IT'S A CAT!

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed
This is awesome. That guy has some serious vaulting skills. And his dismounts are on point
right that jump from kneeling on the floor onto the table was impressive
Something tells me this isn't the only time he played 'kitty'. ;)
I ain't gonna lie she had me in the first half.
0:55 I about died.
2:25 I left this earth
🤣😂🤣😂🤣
No felines were harmed in this video... doctors may have strained a muscle or two by jumping off the walls.
If the “cat” was truly committed to his role he would have sprayed the entire treatment area with urine and feces when you dragged him out of the kennel with that pole.
that would make it a whole different kind of video...😂😂😂😂😂
My thoughts exactly!
I kinda thought that was going to happen when she did the enema but was also glad it didn't
we'll never know... the cat was wearing pants
no, first he would have reclined in the corner and - with pin point accuracy - sprayed urine in her face. then, after being snared with the catch pole, it would have engaged in a truly terrifying alligator death spin while leaping into the air thus freeing itself of it's restraint. only then would it have left a trail of destruction before leaping up the wall to discover the drop ceiling (which this practice does not seem to have installed ), and discovering an egress into the ceiling disappear for two weeks.
I'm assuming the breaks in the video are so everyone has a chance to calm down their hysterical laughter. Was the cat's name Bill by any chance?
LOLOL. You told on yourself with that reference....I guess I did too. 😶
James Hoiby his name was doctor sexton. My mom works at that work. I know everyone 😂

Alright I know this is serious, I work as a vet tech but I started laughing when I saw the dude in the kennel like fr😂
... I hope they didn’t get fired for the mayhem they made making this video😂😂😂
The angry cat sounds are so accurate 😂😂😂
This is hilarious! She's a brave woman to face a fractious cat that large. ;P
When he got loose & started running around throwing boxes at 2:30 😂😂😂 that killed me.
I think the kitty stand-in did a perfect impersonation! People think it's funny but this is actually how some cats behave. I have seen cats LITERALLY hit the ceiling. Not fun for us, our Dr or the patient.
Oh absolutely.. I get cats like this all the time... this video was still ridiculous tho lmao
It's not funny because people don't think that's how cats behave, it's funny because it's a grown man acting it out...
my worst injuries have been from cats. The worst ones are the ones that the owners can't even handle.
I worked at an animal shelter. This video is 100% accurate. LOL

RIGHT?? I don't know HOW I managed to stumble upon this, but it is GLORIOUS!!
The angry noises he made were perfect! 😂😂 hands down 10/10 for technique and attention to detail lol
I will never in my life forget how to handle a fractious cat now
He was having may too much fun!
What did you feed that cat to make him that big?
I think he was eating small dogs! Lol
BBQ and Beer! 😂

Might want to be sure he is neutered! LOL
I thought the exact same thing!! Kudos!
How do you keep a straight face the whole time???

Gotta love the "enema succesful" sounds at the end.

The sound he makes at the beginning is exactly like an angry cat getting angrier.
Great video!!! We had the best laugh in Animal Emergency Medicine in Augusta Ga watching!!!
I'm laughing so hard I'm nearly crying. I needed that today. Thank you!
This is great. I'm impressed with that man's skills to jump to table from the ground.

This cat does parkour
To put all you animal lovers at ease: NO ANIMALS WERE HARMED DURING FILMING.
Even on bad days, that video knows how to cheer me up
When the camera person is trying so hard to contain their laugh and fails slightly 🤣🤣
Kitty rolled a nat 20 in acrobatics I see. Hilarious video, and both actors really sold their roles.
But he only rolled a one in stealth. Check that countertop scene where he's trying to hide under that towel. Lol
This is hilarious! And actually, quite accurate!
Love how you can hear the camera lady laugh whispering the entire time.
