This is by far the best Elon interview (possibly excepting Tim Dodd's recent one). You asked great questions and really let Elon fly. Thanks so much for the time, enthusiasm, and understanding you all showed making this happen!
This was one of his best interviews. I watched the painful, grueling TED interviews, which seemed intentionally designed to interrogate and bully Elon into submission by asking controversial and very negative questions. I'm incredibly excited about a future where the "other side" doesn't bully people so much. It's interesting because anyone who isn't on "their" team gets treated badly in interviews, and that has to stop. Nobody should be treated badly in an interview, because they are giving their time and energy freely. One only has to look back at how the wonderful Obama was treated in interviews, almost revered as a God. Elon deserves the same level of basic courtesy by journalists.
The unfortunate reality is there will come a time when we and Elon will no longer exist. These very candid moments with Elon will be the historical record that our descendants will study when reviewing all he has and will achieve in his lifetime. Thank you Elon for giving up so much of your limited time to allow for these interactions. They are truly priceless artifacts that can be handed down to our future generations.
I love sarcasm! Well done. Elon saved me big time. I sold all my Rivian and Lucid stock because he said they are going bankrupt.. I know Tesla never had one issue with money, ramping up, quality issues, missed production dates. Tesla is the Perfect company.

No company could say that for themselves in the last 10 years when it comes to talking about Tesla. Also Elon has countless times admitted to the flaws and failures of Tesla along the road.

I know that wasn't the case, and may have had something to do but you are spot on about Musk having set aside a chunk of time devoted solely to this. The issue is that he/Tesla is still going to be liable for those few deaths he didn’t prevent. He certainly can make the car safer than the average driver but what about the great driver that wouldn’t crash if they were driving but does crash with an automated car. That person won’t accept switching to a more accident prone vehicle.
@@LearningFast While that might be the case at first, remember that FSD will be even better than this great driver eventually.At that point one could make the argument that it would be irresponsible to drive the car one self and a purely selfish and even potentially wreckless act to do so.Perhaps it might be even illegal to do so and those that wish to drive a car themselves will have to find off-road facilties to do so.

Elon explaining FSD really convinces me that it will become successful, and that competition has no chance of even coming close. Estimating the exact delivery dates is impossible with these projects, but the curve of progress is what matters.
The other ADAS teams worldwide haven't reached the point YET where vision and radar (not to mention LIDAR) create more noise than signal. It's one clue how far ahead Tesla is...
If delivery dates are impossible to estimate, why does Elon keep saying it’s coming this year, year after year? Oh that’s right, it’s the only way to trick people into paying 12k for FSD.
I said it in another part and I say it again: it:s so refreshing to just hear him talk. Throw a statement in the room and let him talk. In many other interviews it seems that the Interviewer wants to present him/herself and has to go through all the questions on the paper as fast as possible...this is so much more relaxed and has deep insights. The best part about this is the interview was planned specifically people who follow Elon Musk, Tesla and SpaceX. A lot of the generic stuff was avoided, and we got a deep conversation.

If you follow Elon and every interview he does you will know 95% of what he will say. It would be great to ask more unique questions and probe him more on his answers he always states. Huge fan here but it would be more interesting. I know you want him to like you but he respects some challenge if it comes from curiosity and good intentions. A few examples: when he states they are the best. Ask about how much he knows about the competitors to be able to make that statement. When he talks about FSD ask about challenges with phantom braking and biggest reasons they see for that. When he talks about population decline ask him about what he thinks can help? Video Games having an impact? I wish you guys did some sort of post on the tesla reddit and asked for good questions with good intent. (lots of negativity there at the moment)

This. The question about god and religion is a downer, that's probably the reason why Elon decided to end the interview. If you follow Elon enough it would not take you long to figure out that he's not religious and not a believer, he also does not like to discuss these topics for obvious reasons that most people are so sensitive and illogical when it comes these subjects.
Put off by lack of suits and ties were you Verovia? Or the lack of a news cast format? This 3 part interview was very informative, interesting and intelligent! Glad there were no commercial breaks to interrupt thought.

Questions about aliens, and comments interrupting Elon in a train of thought, were detracting.
That would be so cool to just sit and talk with Elon. I think he's a genius in the right place at the right time. Unfortunately we were hit with Covid. and getting supplies is still rough as he mentioned here but he is doing the best he can with what he has. We no longer count on Russia for rides to space thanks to Elon, and he does it better and way more affordable. I just really like the guy
I didn't know that you had to round up your miles per hour, that explains why when my FSD beta stops at a stop sign it shows 1 mph and not 0. Thanks elon
Awesome video, enjoyed this the most of the 3. My only comment are to get more cameras - 3 Go Pros or GH6's and more mini shot gun mics or lavs - so it can be edited and the sound levels equalized better. Better yet hire a pro, it's easy to set up a run and gun style with 3 tripods. You push record on 3 cameras with proper mics and edit it in post - get some film student interns or youtubers who follow Musk to edit it for you. I just found I was riding my Mac speakers up for Elon and down for you guys - a better editor, camera people, and mics will solve this easily.
Thanks for asking about the lack of turning/repeater cam function in the legacy Model S/X. I think we need to start a crowd funding project for feature requests in order to relay how serious we are about these feature requests. Get him to fund a software engineer $ to get this done. I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is!!!

My dad is one of 13 brothers and sisters. He’s Persian and they didn’t have a lot of money growing up. He told me that the reason my grandparents had a lot of kids is because they were always bored because there wasn’t much to do lol

The transparency in Elon's answers separate him from other CEOs and how they are covered in the media. Also, he is asked the same questions by each presenter at every event. He has talking points now due to redundancy.

BIDEN & NHTSA don't want you SAFE in a accident, they don't want Tesla AP to save lives.

This. The question about god and religion is a downer, that's probably the reason why Elon decided to end the interview. If you follow Elon enough it would not take you long to figure out that he's not religious and not a believer, he also does not like to discuss these topics for obvious reasons that most people are so sensitive and illogical when it comes these subjects.

Wow everyone should watch and listen to this man and realize he is the Down-to-Earth Einstein of our time, a very rare find and we are lucky enough to be alive at this time and witnessing and should listen to him. This is the stuff that I enjoy seeing how happy this man is and relaxed and enjoying himself.

Great interviews but very poor audio. Can’t hear the others well but Elon is crystal clear most of the time.
All 3 episodes suffer from the audio issue. Surely you guys did a test run right?
The one mic in tripod was pointed at Elon. There questions are not that important really. They can transcribe their questions.

In spite of some of the lame questions and comments by the guests, Elon had some new stuff he shared, especially about FSD. Elon should have given this time to Dave Lee and Rob Mauer

@@vgeorge101 Of all the lame questions and comments by the interviewers, I do think the one about Apple music was appropriate as they are representing their Club and Tesla owners, and that was a big topic of interest apparantly. Questions about aliens, and comments interrupting Elon in a train of thought, were detracting.
That would be so cool to just sit and talk with Elon. I think he's a genius in the right place at the right time. Unfortunately we were hit with Covid. and getting supplies is still rough as he mentioned here but he is doing the best he can with what he has. We no longer count on Russia for rides to space thanks to Elon, and he does it better and way more affordable. I just really like the guy

I didn't know that you had to round up your miles per hour, that explains why when my FSD beta stops at a stop sign it shows 1 mph and not 0. Thanks elon
Awesome video, enjoyed this the most of the 3. My only comment are to get more cameras - 3 Go Pros or GH6's and more mini shot gun mics or lavs - so it can be edited and the sound levels equalized better. Better yet hire a pro, it's easy to set up a run and gun style with 3 tripods. You push record on 3 cameras with proper mics and edit it in post - get some film student interns or youtubers who follow Musk to edit it for you. I just found I was riding my Mac speakers up for Elon and down for you guys - a better editor, camera people, and mics will solve this easily.

My dad is one of 13 brothers and sisters. He’s Persian and they didn’t have a lot of money growing up. He told me that the reason my grandparents had a lot of kids is because they were always bored because there wasn’t much to do lol
So great to listen to someone so passionate about what they do. It's so transparent how much he cares about what he does. Failure doesn't seem something that stops him. chapeau to this visionary man!.
The transparency in Elon's answers separate him from other CEOs and how they are covered in the media. Also, he is asked the same questions by each presenter at every event. He has talking points now due to redundancy.

Edward Snowden pointed out (tweet) that encrypted signals are indistinguishable from noise so the window for detecting alien signals only lasts until they start encrypting communications.

My name is Fares I worked for Tesla and loved it more than anything ever however due to injury and mental health issues I had to abruptly leave. I wish I can end up back working for Tesla and the best CEO ever. Who knows what the future holds.
At 40:42 Elon solved 4 different FSD issues and fixed something on Starship at the same time!
“Tesla will have only FSD operable”. What about WayMo? You can take a driver-less FSD van to airport in PHX AZ today, I believe.
The remark about the Chinese Wall between advertising and editorial at publications reminded me of this: At the 1987 OS/2 introductory developer’s conference I asked Gates and Balmer why independent app developers should start working with OS/2 when Microsoft, which was starting to get into apps with MS Office, would have an advantage since they had access to non-public APIs and to the OS developers themselves. The response was there was a Chinese wall between the app and OS teams, so no need to worry. My friend standing next to me, who was the 80th employee at Microsoft, turned and said, “bullshit.”
