I used to do just this… then I discovered integrated flights and stems. Game charger, no flights falling off, no chance of a Robin Hood and much more durable. They are reasonably expensive but probably cheaper in the long run as they last for ages. Most importantly I didn’t see a difference in my throw… still smashing a 45 average 😂
Excactly. My dad who has been playing since 1980's told me to get rid of those rings when i bought my first darts. I once had so tight grouping with all 3 darts that it wouldn't have been possible if the flights hadn't come off when hitting each other
Aye its true, but if you try them slip in shaft they have reflex bend in them, I find grouping a lot easier and never have to change my flights mid flow.
Could also buy slip in flight shafts, When getting on a flow practicing at home I would find my throw then lose it again the moment I've got to stop to put a flight back in, Since I got them slip in once I can't bare going back.
Thank you, always wondered why you’d want a hole in the flight and why I seen “special” flights with the metal ring inside the flights, well now I’ve simultaneously got the answers to both and some handy info lol
I flight punch and use the Target titanium rings. Have used those rings for a few years now with none breaking. And the flight stays on with no issues of falling out.
Bought some new sniper points tryna invest in some new arrows like I’m any good and the old point changer cost a finger and a toe that’s them in the draw.
I used super glue hahaha, but yeah that makes so much sense! I got some darts recently and they had rings they came with. I was like WTF are these?! lol
What the hell! If this is so great, (I haven't tried it yet, waiting for my punch to be delivered), than why aren't they made this way? I'm just setting up my first dartboard and the darts I've ordered (Red Dragons) actually have a stem ring, but the flights aren't punched.. So weird! Great advice tho, I'm glad I came across this!

As long as ur having fun and getting hammered in the process, slow improvement
Slightly better than my 34 average 😳
@@Anonuk94 fancy a game? 😂
Improves flight grip by about 99.99%
Started using this method about 6 months ago and it really is amazing how much it helps
Flight are meant to come off to avoid deflection
Just getting into darts, and I'm glad you commented this. That makes absolutely perfect sense.

Bold of you to assume I’m getting any Robin Hoods
My little brother literally did this yesterday lol first time I've seen it
My rarest of hitting Robin Hood is right on the Bull, i could not believe my eyes.

I always felt as as well to have flight eject and dart to set in board. Tight fitting flights tend to cause those nasty bounce outs.

I don’t mind the flight popping out, allows for tighter grouping and less deflection
Good advice. I do this but every now and then my flight will come off
Awesome! I have huge problem with this currently, both robin hoods and flights falling out
Should I try with plastic ones? Is there any difference with the weight? Not sure what to do, because I broke flights even with this tehnique.

Another bonus is if the flight does fall out you don't loose the ring
"Loose the ring"
Haha, lose.
@@Vertical-sandwiches lol my bad 😐
Hi! It’s cristopher! You met me at the pub last night with the pool table and Colin green!

Yeah it’s quite a new thing in the world of darts, only really been a thing for a few years, much better if you use rings to do it this way
Just use Condor, you won’t regret it
I just get nitrotech reddragon shafts, these things hold on like nothing else
love drilling lugs
Quality stems come with these rings. It’s no fault of the flights. Pay a few quid more and save on pointless gadgets and accessories 👍
Does this work with metal shafts?
No, but you don’t use rings with metal shafts anyway 👌
Thanks, idk it has a things like this😂
I use super glue
Or just buy kflexes
Nitro Tech stems, flights will never come off been using them 4 years
or you could just use L-Style flights and eliminate robin hoods altogether
L Style EZ for the win.
I Robin hooded a dart within 5 minutes of opening the package💀
Glue Exists
Seriously?? This is a tip?? Bro where did you live before?? If someone doesn't know about this, he can just quit playing darts...
Super Glue and there's no rule against it
