I make a lot of these mistakes even though I know most of these tips but I’m inconsistent and need to keep it fresh in my mind for practice. Best video of throwing darts I’ve seen and I’ve watched so many lately. Stance, grip, and keeping my elbow in a good lock position with a proper follow through are some of my main problems. Thanks so much. This was so helpful. I’m going to keep practicing and come back to use this video for reference time and time again.
I am happy you upload so much nowadays. There is not much darts content on and I like your video's. Like this, you'll grow very fast on youtube and to hear there are comming 2 vids a week is going to help a lot. I'd love to see another path to pro episode! Keep it up mate!
YESSSSS! Grate advice in this video!!! My throw has got worse lately and i have tryed changing my grip all over the place, not gripping the dart so much and when he said just a push, spot on! I didn't think that much of what the video said last nignt when i was watching but had a practice this morning and WOW what a difference! ❤ Good job and thanks, i never write a comment and the fact i came back to find the video just to coment says it all! I even did the look away and hit the treble 20 2 out of 3 amazing 🎉🎉🎉
Only just seen this and have to say some really good advice and easy to understand. Watched lots of these kind of videos but this one is right up there. Thank you very much
Made all the mistakes you talked about, and still do but I’m at least more aware and not baffled at why why why. Glad I found your videos, good stuff man
I've been playing amateur darts for 20 years and I've made all of these mistakes but I have rectified most of them except for my release, I am still struggling with the release. I think I might be relying on my eyes too much, I believe I am going to practice that 'look-away' throw that you did. Thanks.
First video I watched from your channel and is exactly what I needed. I love how you included the miss and the one when you were testing releases. All the pros have copy paste tips but these were different and they work. My favorite tip was going up and over with your wrist. I’ve been playing with my elbow and I already see a positive change. Keep up the good work😎
What a class video mate. I have a very unorthodox grip and although averaging mid 60s so inconsistent. I’d love to try your grip so don’t have any videos please showing how you hold the dart please and how you get it in that position for first timers please mate
Cracking video mate. The main thing I used to struggle with and I've almost gotten over was my balance/stance and now I've improved it, my darts are going so much better now. I am guilty of not having a proper training regime when it comes to darts, I just can't stay focused when I do them. Keep up the good work 👍🏼🎯
Recall, you golfers out there. How often is it emphasized by the pros that a light grip pressure is best? Tight grip pressure anything destroys the fundamental concept that muscles and joints should be at ease in their performance. Lastly, likely, you wouldn't have a rolled-up ball of paper in a death grip when you're simply tossing it into the trash. I can't think of a better way to throw a dart than this analogy. It comes to us so naturally. If I were to introduce the game to my little niece and nephew for an entire month, they would hold nothing in their hand but a rolled-up piece of the paper ball a few feet from the trash basket and turn it loose with fifty balls a day.
great video pal! yeah changing often poor balance and practising in whatever usually no shoes or allignment pretty much all of it keep up the good work enjoyed this
Been watching you for a while now sorry I thought I had subscribed, I have now 😊. Your content is really good and helped me out a lot. What if you're an arm thrower and not a wrist thrower any tips on that 🙏
Great video! For me I know I need new darts, but I have no idea what weight, style or flight I need. If I buy them off ebay and they don't feel right I don't want to have to buy more. If I go into a shop its not like I can test them out properly either.
Could be an alignment issue or seeing which eye dominant you are. Everything could “feel right”, but if you aren’t aligned correctly with the board, a great feeling throw could end up to the left or right. I’ll have a video going over proper alignment soon, but in the meantime check out @straighttothepointdarts . His content is awesome 🙌
You mentioned that you should have a practice routine and not just aiming for T20, but you didn't explain that. A video coming about practice routines soon? I would be very curious about those!
Took me 30sec and a read at comments to understand i was seeing about dartS AND not dart (the programming language) here i was starting thinking: WTF gripping pressure 😂😂😂
I am constantly injuring my elbow with an aggressive follow through and it’s the absolute bane of my life 😭 Does anyone else have the same issue? I will try the warm up throws as mentioned in the vid 👍
Hey Tracy! I was similar for a while when I started out. Almost forcibly locking out my elbow on the follow through. I’ve found that since implementing the wrist “up and over” approach, and then just letting the hand drop naturally, not only are my darts landing better, I’ve had zero issues with my elbow. Worth a shot anyways, it might help. Thanks for the comment 🙌
Thanks Dani! I’ll give it a whirl 👍 It’s so disheartening waiting for the injury to heal only be injured again straightaway. It’s really hard to change but I know I have to if I want to continue. I’ll keep at it 💪 Thank you 😍
Sometimes you can over examine and think too much. You have to be careful you don’t take away any natural abilities a person has for throwing darts. I’ve thrown with many great players who have there foot sideways or front on, there’s pit falls in both, having it sideways increases the risk of you trying to over stretch on a throw and raising the back foot. Having front on stops that but your actually further from the board, sometimes you have to do what is natural. I haven’t seen any real competitions, travelling, leagues ?? Progression from pub level to any other level? If your aspirations is to be a pro darts player I’m unsure how your getting there? I use to spend half the week travelling?? If it’s online then let’s see more of it?? Although you really won’t get the same experience as doing it properly.
I appreciate the feedback my man. If ya watch the path the pro from the start I go through in detail the plan to get there: spend a few months playing online matches 2/3 times per week, pepper in a few in person events, then look to switch to fully in person events towards the end of the year. That’s exactly what I’ve been doing. In the meantime, I took a break to work with a coach and improve on technique. I am fully aware that this is an arduous task, but I have the patience to stick it out. My next Path to Pro video next Thursday you’ll see a competition I’m competing in this Sunday with 2 PDC tour card holders. So yes, the odds are stacked heavily against me, but either way there’ll be a lot of interesting ups and downs along the way, which people seem to enjoy from a content POV. That’s my plan I guess 🤷🏻♂️

Thé best lesson for me as beginner. ❤
Lol. You make all the releases look good. Nice and fluid. Great vid.

Great video this one mate! Definitely going to give that “push” throw style a go!
Definitely do & let me know how you get on! Really helped my game out 🎯
Thanks for the tips
No worries Sean! Glad to see you enjoyed the video 🙌
I’m a beginner I’ve watched about 10 videos and I learned the most from this one!
Thanks dude! That means a lot 🫡
my alignment, grip and release is inconsistent, these ,tips are great cheers bro🤟
Thanks for the tips mate.. improve my grip and aim
Made all the mistakes you talked about, and still do but I’m at least more aware and not baffled at why why why. Glad I found your videos, good stuff man
Thanks a lot, i've recognized some bits :D I'll keep all that in mind
Thanks, I'm a beginner and my shoulder hurts. Warming up and using my forearm and consistent release is going to help.

This is EXACTLY where I'm at. Thanks for upload! SUB for sure. Looking forward to more!
Thanks buddy, really enjoyed the video!
Good tips, thanks
Glad it was helpful Joseph!

Great video, I’ve found the grip information very interesting, and now I’ve loosened it a bit I’m much better👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Start off with a “cheap”-ish 90% tungsten straight barrel dart about 22-24g. Red dragon and Winmau have great entry options for about €20-30
Tips on aligning while being cross-eyed dominant?
I use 30g darts and play quite well, averaging about 50, is that an issue and should I go lighter?
It depends dude, do you have lighter darts to compare to? If not, it could be worthwhile getting a lighter set & comparing for a few weeks 🙌
@@dynamytedarts yeah I do, just feel more comfortable with the heavier. Will give the lighter ones a shot for the next couple weeks. Thanks
50 ?
I feel like because I’m short with a short arm I have trouble really reaching the board. Especially the higher numbers.
Just followed these steps and hit my first 180 five minutes after absolutely buzzin 🎉
Bro
I have a big problem with my darts going to the left, when i record myself it seems pretty good but something is off!
Any tips?

@@dynamytedarts it must be alignment, thank you so much
Time to go practice
@@kloksadun2817could be a grip issue where it leaves your thumb and fingers and different points so deflects off one just before release
That grip tip is spot on cheers pal
Yessss Mark! Let me know how ya get on with it ❤️
This can definitely help my game
Excited for you to try out the tips Max!
You mentioned that you should have a practice routine and not just aiming for T20, but you didn't explain that. A video coming about practice routines soon? I would be very curious about those!
Yes sir Patrik! Coming very soon🙌
Solid Tips bro! I'll be averaging 140 every throw now 🏹🏹🏹
Easy money 💰 🎯
