After trying other videos strats and failing horribly for almost an hour, I stumbled across this vid. Let me just say THANK YOU for this simply awesome strat. You are truly a King amongst men in videogamedom. I salute you good sir.
+mldfry haha i really dont remember, i havent played since then, multicast on these two guys is pretty powerful with or without speed zash but if you are able to stagger at least one of them you will be fine, crystal level must be at 5, i used fang, vanille and lightning, i need to get my ps3 out of the box hahaha then i'll let you know my strategy :D
The magic resistance is important too. Very important. Like I have 20k hp on every1 but hope (18k), but the damage is incredible. Resistance magic accessories are a must in this fight.
I gotta thank you man! I'd followed other strategies to beating this mission and none of them worked, then I saw this vid and thought "why not, nothing else has worked so far". So followed the same paradigm setups and the exact methods used in the battle, and low and behold it worked, took 5 min, 5-starred it as well, and I'm still on my first play through of the game, max HP is 10k. Also wasn't using the exact same equips either, chars had 2-3 maxed magnus bracelets and ult wep. Thanx again!
Just wanted to thank you for this strategy, I didn't use Lightning, but put Hope in instead because he's a better Medic and Ravager, and my Fang isn't a very good Synergist at all, so I used Evened Odds instead of Recuperation, but I wouldn't have been able to have complete this without you. :) You're my hero! :D
Hey MasterLL, I am only on Chapter 11, and after defeating Bart, I wanted to do all missions before completing the game. Thank you for this strategy! I worked for me even though my Crystarium stops at Role Level 4!
Sorry for the double post, I thought my first message didn't upload. Regarless of my comments about luck, the method in the video is well-developed and impresssive given the lvls + eqp. Best method I've seen on youtube, though I'm sure MasterLL is aware it can be further refined with better eqp or to exploit the paradigm switch ATB refresh (double up on RAV/RAV/RAV). Good work anyway, and a safe method to 5star, even if you don't kill on the first staggers
i remember reading somewhere that with snow/fang if you equip a certain combination of weapon/accessories they get a 100% magic resist synthesis ability, probably would make this fight way easier.
@Arkhaine687 You get a Genji Glove from the Adamantortoise mission as well. Also Atticus. So it's COMPLETELY POSSIBLE to be able to break the damage cap your first attempt at this mission.
@phazepiracy I dont know you have beaten the final boss, but when you do you unlock the final level of the crystarium and most of these new upgrades in your three intial classes are health upgrades. When you max your three initial classes on each char you have between 16(hope) and 28k(snow);P
Thank you for uploading this? I'm at a higher level compare to your old status in this video and I still couldn't get 5 stars I was using the wrong stragety.
I pretty much did the same thing you did except I didn't put Bravera on Fang and after I staggered it I cast Deprotect on it which took away from my attack time. Great video.
I was stuck on trying for 5-stars for a long time. I used a strategy similar to this, except using Hope instead of Vanille. I was using COM/RAV/RAV to stagger instead of Tri RAV, which worked way faster. Once I was lucky enough for the debuffs to stick fast, I beat them both in 4:20 with a 15:45 target. Never thought to finish them off with Highwind, either. Thanks for the post, otherwise I'd be grinding out 12-15 minute battles for 2-4 stars!
best way to stagger them: use army of one or cold blood, then switch to SEN/RAV/RAV. each hit of army of one/cold blood while in SEN will add 1.0-1.5 to the chain gauge. not to mention one of them can't cast because it will keep getting interrupted and your entire party takes less damage from the other one, even as you raise the chain gauge really quickly
@tnofic it isn't really about stats but strategy and luck. When you have a well formed plan its possible to overcome any obstacle, I learned that the hard way lol
My genius Lightning attacks everything Fang doesn't attack. So while I'm unloading on the staggered one, she's having a good old time doing 100 hit damage to the one that's still protected. Not the brightest crayon in the box...
Good strategy, worked for me. It should be said though that the Raktavijas didn't use their most annoying attack, dispelga, on this fight, which is VERY unlikely. When they are staggered, they have 75% chance of using it (that's why this video is 'unlikely'), and the dispelga remove all your buffs and all their debuffs, making it much more difficulty to kill them in one stagger. The good thing, is that this strategy still works even if they use several dispelgas, they used 4 on me and I got 5☆
Man, I spent 57 minutes on this battle. I was a lot weaker, though. Level 4 on all main roles for Snow, Lightning and Hope and only Snow had HP over 10k. Two max levelled Witch Bracelet on each for 44% magic resist and a lot of switching between SEN/SEN/SEN, healing paradigms and offensive paradigms. The fight got a lot easier once one of them was down, though.
@Yakushii Yes. In order to unlock Level 10 Crystarium, you need to defeat the final boss. If you don't, and you try taking on these guys, you might as well just not even try.
3 witch's bracelets are key, but also once you stagger the enemy, quickly cast deprotect on it, since even if it's staggered it's still a bitch to kill.
@TheCheesyTurtle Commando's tend to pick their own target, so if you have more than one they'll split up their attacks among the enemies. Stick with Commando-Ravager-Ravager until there's only one of them left
like all the others who said it worked their damn right because i hadld the same trouble with them and when i saw this strategy it worked to perfection so thanks for the guide and now it's on to that damn long gui
@yoBEENLY You can buy them in B&W Oufitters for 15000gil or Upgrade a Rune Bracelet, that can be bought in the same shop, with Uraninite (not sure if it's uran.).
if there people who have tried this and it didnt work for them(like myself) then i recommend watching this video and trying this strategy instead. Final Fantasy XIII - Mission 62: Raktavija (8000 HP, no TP/R:IC) copy and paste to search bar and watch! it worked well for me and i didnt even use genji gloves!
[cont] If really in bad conditions (needing healing or rebuffs) I used SEN/MED/SYN and SEN/MED/MED. It took me a while and I didn't got any stars. However I could finish it before beating the game, allowing me to easily farm Gil on the 2 Cie'th Sacrifice packs on Orphan's Cradle (The drops are: Scarletite (basic, 7k) Perfume (rare 12,5k)). There are two packs, one with 4 of them, and another with 3.
Would the increased magic defense also prevent your characters from getting knocked down on seemingly every multicast these things deal? Even with vigilance on my end my party gets knocked down each time these things spam any -ga spell.
ok i have been stuck on this mark for a bit and my stats are higher than yours in comparison, and yet i do less damage? i even have the genji glove and fang's gungnir along with lightnings omega weapon. is there any synthesized abilities that would help counteract the raktavijas ruinaga multicast? cuz thats the one thats been screwing me over.
@AzianStrider no. you get three total. if you do any of the three missions that drop the glove over again itll just give you another item. probably a component . if you dont mind having only two genji gloves you can level one up to star level and dismantle it for a Trapezohedron! (thats what i did)
@MasterLL Generally being offensive serves you well in RPGs, but most of the time this game seems to force you down that route a little too much. Anyway, the reason I brought up the matter of chance here is that many people are likely to use this strategy, and I didn't want them to expect it to work this perfectly everytime, or even most of the time. When things actually go badly in this fight, improvisation is necessary, and it can take twice the time without much fault from the player.
@MasterLL Unfortunately that's very true, but truer in some cases than others. Geo Wars for instance, might've been close to 100% skill, were it not for the enemies that can spawn immediately on your position. Whereas in a game like this, once you have the method down (that's where 99% of the skill is and indeed ought to be), skill really has very little to do with it. Even then, certain enemies can act more randomly and with worse consequences than others.
this was most helpful. i was trying several paradigms using sentinels but the lack of a 3rd attacker was hurting me - i couldnt keep buffs/debuffs up in time for the stagger
@kadaj187 model your strategy around casting as much slow as you can (party team is the three girls), getting stagger fast (ultima weapon for lightening) and hitting hard (spamming one man army when its staggered helps a lot) also, have high stats (maxed primary 3 and half way on one and higher ) and high magic resistance. its pretty easy after slow and stagger are set
Man you got lucky in this vid. My stats are much higher than yours but they just fuck me up cause they're CONSTANTLY throwing Ruinga at me, and before I've taken even half of the first dude's HP out, he removes EVERYTHING. It's a miracle I haven't smashed my controller yet.
I beated this with Fang (Leader) with 8k HP 1900 STR 1100 MAG, Light with 8k HP ~ 1200 STR ~ 1200 MAG and Hope with 6k HP 1700 MAG and I don't remember the STR but it doens't matter since the paradigms I used with him didn't need STR. I did this before beating the game. Everyone had 3 Witch's Bracelet, except for Hope that had 2 Witch's Bracelet and One Magus' Bracelet. The basic strat was to use SAB/MED/MED and cast slow on both Raktavija, then, switch to COM/RAV/RAV.
DAMN, how powerful ARE those shields!! And that tornado move MUST be painful..... Whoa DAMN, even FANG can do that! :D Whoa.....how many missions ARE there? Not many left see you have a 98% completion rate.
I have this really annoying problem where all my members are not willing to attack the same enemy. Fang and Vanille attack the staggered Raktijava as Lightning attacks the other one with the shield up. ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE? REPLY.
3 Questions :O 1. Why is the missions all 5 Stars but says 98% Completed? o-o 2. What happened to the Trophy of getting 5 stars on all missions? Or alrready achieved on diff File? 3. Is EnFire or any other En- plus SparkStrike or other corresponding strike double the effect?

The timing, type and frequency of their attacks is very random, as is whether you get stunned or not.
Geez man there's 62+ missions'! Are they all as long as mission 1? Oh yeah also if you fully upgrade a weapon, does it become "ultimate weapon". Or do you find/buy the "ultimate weapon"?
MastelLL-- among the videos i've watched, u have the best, :-) hope u can upload more strategies on how t handle this cieth.. hehehe!! On FF 13-21.. KEEP IT UP!!
I used rav rav med, com com med, syn syn med with lighting, fang, and the too happy broad vanille and beat these guys pretty quickly. Of course it does help to have over 20k hp and 3k strength, and witch's braclets maxed out are a must. And debuffing them is a must as well because without imperil and slow I'd probably still be trying to stagger them lol
This is probably the most fun to fight out of all the marks in my oppinion. especially if your slightly undergeared etc... i didnt know how hard these were gonna be on my first attempt ... lol took me 3 tries base hp was between 10-17k on each char. not 2 sure... there all maxed now ofc and this wouldnt be 2 much of a problem now either. Nice Kill btw.
Does anyone else watch videos like these and think to yourself, "Wow, I really suck at Final Fantasy?"
Nope. It's how you learn new strategies. Plus I miss this game
You did a spectacular job of catching up when that second stagger went wrong. Well done.
was everyone else like "OHHH HES NOT GONNA MAKE IT" but suddenly like "HIGHWIND FTW"
*NO ESCAPE!*
The Highwind finishing move looks spectacular.
After trying other videos strats and failing horribly for almost an hour, I stumbled across this vid. Let me just say THANK YOU for this simply awesome strat. You are truly a King amongst men in videogamedom. I salute you good sir.
these two things drove me nuts trying to get them outta that bubble.
915nabi i beat them today using the speed zash accesory to stagger them quickly on all of my characters xD
+mldfry haha i really dont remember, i havent played since then, multicast on these two guys is pretty powerful with or without speed zash but if you are able to stagger at least one of them you will be fine, crystal level must be at 5, i used fang, vanille and lightning, i need to get my ps3 out of the box hahaha then i'll let you know my strategy :D
still works like a charm 14 years later :D thank you
Thanks so much for this video. I tried like hell and had so many fails, this strategy was flawless for me, amazing work.
The magic resistance is important too. Very important. Like I have 20k hp on every1 but hope (18k), but the damage is incredible. Resistance magic accessories are a must in this fight.
The feeling when u highwind an enemy is indescribable xD
Toughest mission ever !!
Try mission 63 with like 9000 tp max. My only hope was death spam there. With summon

You're my hero! :D
that highland for the finisher was too dope haha
Hey MasterLL,
I am only on Chapter 11, and after defeating Bart, I wanted to do all missions before completing the game.
Thank you for this strategy! I worked for me even though my Crystarium stops at Role Level 4!
thanks alot man that mission was doing my head in 5 star straight away following your set up
Sorry for the double post, I thought my first message didn't upload. Regarless of my comments about luck, the method in the video is well-developed and impresssive given the lvls + eqp. Good work anyway, and a safe method to 5star, even if you don't kill on the first staggers
Thank you thanks to this video i got 5 stars and 1 step closer to long gui
Marik Uchiha I’m on the trail, too!
Great strat, and the mission gives you a good padding of time in case things go sideways. Just stack all the witch's bracelets!
i remember reading somewhere that with snow/fang if you equip a certain combination of weapon/accessories they get a 100% magic resist synthesis ability, probably would make this fight way easier.
This was an awesome Mark Mission. I really liked it, despite the difficulty. :D
I already have same idea, with use resist magic to all my character, but still my party just easily defeated, and I think it need lvl 5 crystarium
@Arkhaine687 You get a Genji Glove from the Adamantortoise mission as well. Also Atticus. So it's COMPLETELY POSSIBLE to be able to break the damage cap your first attempt at this mission.
@phazepiracy

the KEY of this fight is equipping 3 of Witch's Bracelet for each character.
Thank you for uploading this? I'm at a higher level compare to your old status in this video and I still couldn't get 5 stars I was using the wrong stragety.
all missions 5 star! :O very well done, sir :D
I pretty much did the same thing you did except I didn't put Bravera on Fang and after I staggered it I cast Deprotect on it which took away from my attack time. Great video.
thanks for the tips! I'm able to complete this mission at 3:27 with your strategy
I was stuck on trying for 5-stars for a long time. I used a strategy similar to this, except using Hope instead of Vanille. I'm gonna have to remember this strategy when I tackle this mission. One Raktavija was enough for me. :P
Thank you SO much. God damn, that was a tough one until I saw this strategy.
Holy shit...five stars at every mission in 60:58:26 play time. You are a real pro! xD
Thanks for posting the vid, you helped me 5 star this one.
I used fang/vanille/hope though, since I didn't have the syn role available for fang.
Usually I respond ... "how the hell didn't i think of that?"
Highwind finish is win.
lol I was like what the fuck are missions when I saw this.
Thanks for uploading!
@tnofic it isn't really about stats but strategy and luck. When you have a well formed plan its possible to overcome any obstacle, I learned that the hard way lol

thank u man i used ur strategy and it worked for me i beat that thing the first time round and got five stars thank u dude ur awsome
Good strategy, worked for me.

there are sooooooo many A level missions that can be beaten before going into chapter 12 but paradigm makes or breaks you.
Unlike Vercingetorix, this thing is slightly easier, just a lot more tedious
Whoa, nice and quick, now that's what I call a battle :) Good job man :D

everytime I stagger one, I get instantly debuffed by the other and I get wiped out. And Ive maxed out my characters.
I remember beating this shit by luck lmao difficult ass battle
@Yakushii Yes. In order to unlock Level 10 Crystarium, you need to defeat the final boss. If you don't, and you try taking on these guys, you might as well just not even try.
I just happy laughed at how cute Vanille's yay us was

The trick are those Witch's Bracelets
@baseball7070
Could you tell me what these teer weapons are because almost everyone as them and it irritates me. There so strong.
Yay for "The Woman Group" :D That's my party.
Hope is the biggest pussy in there

Great ! This mission is very hardcore ! Thanks for you’re help with you’re vidéo 😊
Do entite rings make a difference in this battle? Ive been using the same accesorys as you except I have entite rings as everyones fourth.
could you tell me some of your inventory at the time, cause im takin some serious magi damage from these guys!
I have a love/hate relationship with this damn game lol so frusturating and so good at the same time.
Great video guide and thanks! Destroyed in 3min 24secs!!! - Those Witches Bracelets certainly help LOADS!!!!
Thanks for the help! Boom boom boom boom boom! 5 stars on the first try. ^^

I'm at the final chapter, and gone back to do some grinding. Do you need to beat the final boss to get Level 5 crystariums and 10.000+ HP?
DAMN, how powerful ARE those shields!! And that tornado move MUST be painful.....
Whoa DAMN, even FANG can do that! :D
Whoa.....how many missions ARE there? Not many left see you have a 98% completion rate.
word it help me thx for making the video
this mission was hell for me it took me hours to beat them i finally caved and switched hope for snow , vanille and fang that's how i won
I have this really annoying problem where all my members are not willing to attack the same enemy. Fang and Vanille attack the staggered Raktijava as Lightning attacks the other one with the shield up. ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE? REPLY.
3 Questions :O
1. Why is the missions all 5 Stars but says 98% Completed? o-o
2. What happened to the Trophy of getting 5 stars on all missions? Or alrready achieved on diff File?
3. Is EnFire or any other En- plus SparkStrike or other corresponding strike double the effect?
A lot of luck is required to achieve this time, especially with such low level chars + eqp. If this is a first time run, then that fact should be acknowledged. Whatever method you use, the luck of this fight is in how quickly the status effects take hold (even with belleadonna wand) and how many times you get knocked in the air, especially when trying to finish one off while he's staggered. The timing, type and frequency of their attacks is very random, as is whether you get stunned or not.
i got a question: should i level up the weapon of fang that cannot shock, or her first weapon? Or both :P ?
OMFG tank so so much this helped a bunch
@UdtheImp Yea, but all together that's about 50-60 hours of gameplay(more if you're gonna go for trophies). That's typical JRPG length.
Wow... amazing! It is so difficult this mission! Congratulation...
best tutorial on youtube to beat this stupid mission :D thank you now i got my 5 stars on this
@strazer1 yeah.. 50% of magic resistance gives u much more survivability on taking damage from those multicasts. Slow is also the key in this battle.
This helped me a lot, thanks ^^
Geez man there's 62+ missions'! Are they all as long as mission 1? Oh yeah also if you fully upgrade a weapon, does it become "ultimate weapon". Or do you find/buy the "ultimate weapon"?
This mission is impossible lmao. The developers should’ve made this battle WAY easier
Nvm I got it.
sorry for tall the posts, how can i get uncapped damage? i have been looking for that
You have to get a genji glove, (found by completing, A) Mission 51, B) Mission 62 or C) Mission 63)
MastelLL-- among the videos i've watched, u have the best, :-) hope u can upload more strategies on how t handle this cieth.. hehehe!! On FF 13-21.. KEEP IT UP!!
