- Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), who lost both of her legs in the Iraq War, calls President Trump a "draft dodger" amid the ongoing debate about the government shutdown.
An Iraq War veteran, Duckworth served as a U.S. Armyhelicopter pilot and suffered severe combat wounds, losing both of her legs and damaging her right arm. She was the first female double amputee from the war.[3] Having received a medical waiver, she continued to serve as a Lieutenant Colonelin the Illinois Army National Guard along with her husband, Major Bryan W. Bowlsbey, a signal officer and fellow Iraq War veteran, until her retirement from the Army in October 2014.[4]

Professor Lemon Yes,most of the military is non-combat or not directly combat related, but everyone if not most has to be combat capable from the infantry to the cooks, hence Basic Combat Training or BCT. In some cases like mine, you could have it overlooked at MEPS if your doctor write-up an all clear for you and clears you. To get your job however it's based off the scores from the ASVAB test to determine if your smart enough to get the MOS and job availability.
