  • I tried the 7 day jump rope challenge doing 1000 jumps a day! In this video I take you along the journey of myself, an overweight 26-year-old women, attempting different fitness challenges and looking at my diet in order to reach my weight loss goal. I had a fair few struggles, mishaps and many complaints along the way but I kept going and stayed positive. I pushed myself to not only aid my weight loss goal but show that I can do things I set my mind to. It was hard but I got it done and hopefully it can motivate you to give it a go as well. I take you along for the entire fitness challenge, the ups and downs and sprinkle in a bit of my advice and knowledge throughout. I share my realistic weight loss results, before and after pictures and progress I have made. Trust me if I can do it, so can you.

I'm on day 2 of week for doing 1000 skips a day. Using a set of weighted jump ropes I do 50 for my warmup and then do an extra 200 at the end, so about 1250 a day. It only take about 30 mins and I've seen a HUGE difference in my body. To anybody starting this challenge stick with it, it does get easier!!!! You got this 💪🏽💜

It’s actually quite a remarkable change especially for 7 days. You can really notice it in the back as well as your standing posture. I think if you would have measured your waist, hips, thighs etc you would have seen some change in those numbers. Weight is a tricky scale to base success on. Pound for pound, muscle is much more dense, taking up less space than fat. So the number on the scale may not change as much as your measurements! Great job!

I've started junping rope a month ago, for like 2-3 days every week and sometimes I jump on concrete sometimes on a softer ground and I don't feel difference. Maybe you guys should fix your technique or something like that?
I've been watching a lot of jump rope videos in the last month and I didnt saw any reccomendation to not train on concrete or normal floor.

@@BodeHelloThere I love it! It’s kind of my secret weapon, lol. I turn on RUclips videos or music and stand in front of my TV and do the hula hoop One Direction for3 to 5 minutes and then I stop and force myself to go in the opposite direction which feels unnatural but it’s much better now after years of practice and tighten your stomach muscles and concentrate there. It definitely is mind and body connection. be sure to wear clothes that are smooth to the body so there’s no extra material to get stuck around the Hulu hoop….. just like the jump rope, it gets easier with practice.!!! ….. I do this at least one time a day and if I can I do it two or three times! Especially in the summer months, lol it truly makes a huge difference on your waist line and your lower back……Have fun w/ it.(*** When you buy a hula hoop by the largest version and some of them have weights in them or beads. Do not buy the small tiny child one. Those are useless.

At 9:00 you are using a shorter white jump rope (good, the blue jump rope was not siges properly), yet you are still holding your hands far out to the side. You need to adjust you jumping technique by keeping your hands closer to your hips and just whipping the rope with your wrists (instead of your forearms).
These things affect the timing of your jumps and while unadjusted the shorter jump rope will keep hitting your ankles instead of going under you.
Look up “sweet spot” sizing of your jump rope and shirten it in increments while adjusting your technique.

9:48 you mentionned at that moment that you kept tripping on the rope, and I heard music in the background! From my experience, if the beat of the music is out of rythm with the jumps, you trip! If you want to listen to music while you jump it’s better to count how many jump you make in one minute, then search for a playlist, for an example I jump 2 times per second, 120 times per minute, so I have a ”120 bpm” playlist to listen to when I jump

lol, you definitely need tight leggings at waist for jumping, otherwise it's just annoying to jump. And mat to jump on😯! I've been jumping for 3 years now consistently, my jumping session is about 35 min long, but I jump in intervals, 120sec on, 10 sec etc. I fell in love with it, the start was tough, but with discipline and consistency you get better and better. Learning new styles is fun and seeing improvements motivates you to jump more! At beginning, it's also not smart to jump every day, listen to your body, take a day off. I don't particularly like this challenge because in 7 days jumping every day, you're just gonna end up in pain lol. It definitely takes more time to jump effectively and for your body to gets used to jumping.
