Both are really nice revolvers. I recently picked up a blued round butt 1949 M&P Pre-Model 10. It actually came with pre-war service style grips that look fantastic. The thing that I love about the early guns like this are the half round front sight. That look is so classic on snub nose revolvers, and just makes me think of a police detective gun. I already had a blued and nickel square butt Pre-Model 10, so I was very happy to be able to get a round butt one too! They are all from 1949 and the serial numbers are pretty close together.
Nice dude! I seen the 15, I juat realized it was your video. RUclips suggested some of them lol. I love the model 10! Very nice! Only have a 64 snub right now. Love old guns, but old guns with history, and especially family history are awesome!
I have a model 15 I bought in 1977. 4" barrel with target hammer and trigger. $140 out the door with 50 rounds of wadcutters. Brand new. Still have it.
My first duty-issued handgun in the 1980's was the S&W Model 15 Combat Masterpiece 4" barrel. It was an excellent revolver and was sad to see it go when we tranistioned to semi-autos.
If you don't have a Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, it's worth the buy. 4th Ed is the current I believe. Has all kinds of cool info and it gives you history and serial number year ranges for each model.
Good looking S&W’s! I’ve got a 10-5 snub w/original box. Great pistol. I had a 15 to, sold it for a 66-2 snub. Figured if I wanted a full size K frame with adjustable sights I might as well have one that can shoot .357.
You’ve got a point on the .357 but personally I would’ve gone with the model 19 snub. I’m a sucker for blued guns! That said, the 66 is a great choice as well!
@@N._American_Heritage Yes, If that choice had come up first i’d been fine with that too. I’ve seen a few real nice ones for sale (with box) but they’re well over $1200.
Adjustable rear sight, and square but frame. The only difference in ur 15/10. The service grip on ur 15 appears not original. The coloring/stain should be a lighter oak brown.
That along with the wider hammer, grip serrations, and barrel. That’s interesting that you say that. You think the original grips would be lighter than the ones currently on the revolver? Because they look pretty light already haha
@@N._American_Heritage Mine is. And manufacturing was around the same as ur's. Do u know the lighter grip service grips. Maybe they are for police issue. That's where I see the lighter color most. Mine was bought new by my papi. Then again. Who knows. tnx.
I have both of those snubbies. nice guns. and I don't care if we have seen one of them before. because I never get tired of seeing them.
Haha glad to hear it! Thanks!

recently acquired a model 10-5 with a snub nose and factory bobbed hammer. love the model 10's and my new love for wheel guns.

Wow, that’s awesome! A 4” model 15 is one I’d love to get my hands on. Too bad you can’t walk into gun stores and buy them new like that anymore.
Thank you for showing these fine pieces!
very nice pieces. Love my 10-5 snubby
Nice! I love the look of the square butt model 10s

Beautiful revolvers. Both the model 15 and 10 snubbys are some of the best revolvers!
Gotcha dialed in man! Lookin forward to new videos.
Glad you’re enjoying the classics!

Wow, beautiful!
They sure are!
I want one
Two beauties
Which has nicer design M10 or M36 5 rounds?

I would love to get a 2" model 15. i have 10 and 12 plus a 19. But a 15 would round out my collection.
Nice! I’m the opposite. I love my model 15 but I’d love to get my hands on a 19 snub
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Glad you liked it!
@@N._American_Heritage What's better for shooting, in your opinion, the square butt or the round one?
I’ve always preferred the square butt. Gives you a little more to hang on to!
Nice guns.
You don’t need an adjustable rear sight on snub nose revolvers. They are not target guns. So I choose the Model 10 with the fixed rear sight.
Pops!
Está bonita
Your model 10-7 was made in 1981... You are very welcome! 🙂
Thank you again haha. Glad you came back to the channel!

umm 🤔
@@N._American_Heritagethe barrel is correct, 15 had a bull barrel. You can take the stocks off the 15 and see if the serial number is stamped on them.
