I won’t OWB carry without a lock or a strap. If you carry long enough without a lock or strap you’ll eventually drop a gun.
These were used heavily in 1930's-40's film noir suspense movies. And, they were not " prop guns" as were misnamed in a recent" mishap "by a less than skilled actor
Which has nicer design M10 or M36 5 rounds?
I'm Italian I have this revolver, from the serial number it's from 1977, great "little" gun
Update: I found a excellent shape 1965 Colt Detective Special, no box though. Definitely super cool pistol!
Beautiful revolver
Wow! That's a beautiful revolver and special because it belonged to your grandfather. I don't know if I could bring myself to shoot it but I would sure want to. Thanks for sharing it with us.
recently acquired a model 10-5 with a snub nose and factory bobbed hammer. love the model 10's and my new love for wheel guns.
Awesome
Beautiful revolvers. Both the model 15 and 10 snubbys are some of the best revolvers!
Nice guns.

Sweet !
Can you do some more vintage Bianchi holster reviews, please?
nice lineup, but you dont speak very well. Too many pauses and filler words. Video was very distracting so i to mute sound.
I have a Smith & Wesson model 10 5'' barrel made in 1964 in the same condition as your Colt.
Está bonita
The full size 2 inch revolvers did not sell well compared to the J frames. That’s pretty much the reason why they are so scarce.
My Dad just past down his model 18 that he bought early 60’s just after he got married he said my mom was upset with him for buying it. I glad he did he said it was his favorite gun to shoot. I’ve taken to the range several times it’s a sweet hart to shoot.
Both are really nice revolvers. I recently picked up a blued round butt 1949 M&P Pre-Model 10. It actually came with pre-war service style grips that look fantastic. The thing that I love about the early guns like this are the half round front sight. That look is so classic on snub nose revolvers, and just makes me think of a police detective gun. I already had a blued and nickel square butt Pre-Model 10, so I was very happy to be able to get a round butt one too! They are all from 1949 and the serial numbers are pretty close together.
You got a real winner there! Being able to get the complete package is fantastic. When an original owner cares enough to keep everything together, you know it’s going to be worth a lot. Thanks for sharing.
Great gun. Greetings from Germany
I have two model 15 and one model 12, which is alloy. All 4" and in excellent condition. Good shooters. Currently looking for a beauty like yours. Need a 2".
Yes, John Bianchi passed away a long time ago, and I read his daughter took over. She sold out to Safariland, and then they moved production to Mexico. Older vintage Bianchi leather holsters and magazine pouches are really going up in price on eBay.
I have a 1961 Dec. Spec. 3 inch.
You got yourself a nice Colt 😊
640 pro >
You don’t need an adjustable rear sight on snub nose revolvers. They are not target guns. So I choose the Model 10 with the fixed rear sight.
i got p229 dak sas 40 s&w/357 sig.
Thank you for showing these fine pieces!
Mine was owned by Peace officer used at a local airport. Manufactured in 1982.
How much did you pay ?
I have read that some of the SEAL teams used those in Vietnam. Not sure if it’s true.
I have the p225-a1 with short reach trigger(skinny). Love the gun, hate the magazine and the square edges of the grip. Sig was asleep at the wheel on this one. The magazine is the same as the p239, they could have easily added another round or 2. I got a couple of + 1 base plates, not really happy with them.
I don’t have any issues with the grip but I definitely do with the magazine base plate. Which reminds me I need to take a file to those or something haha. I haven’t looked into aftermarket +1 base plates but maybe I will at some point. I had it out the other day and boy do those 9 rounds go quick!
There's a few at my LGS that I've been eyeing pretty hard. One has the translucent grips that were meant to put photos in, the other two have the black Colt grips that you were talking about. While I wouldn't consider one for my main daily carry option, it would make a fun range toy, and it's always nice to own a piece of history like that. Thanks for the video, I think you helped me decide on getting one!
Nice! I would highly recommend jumping on one sooner rather than later if you’re interested, so long as they’re not trying to scalp you on the price haha. Glad I could help you make your decision. Best of luck!
@@N._American_Heritage I got home from doing my paperwork on it about an hour ago! Being CA it’ll be in my hands in 10 days!
I love the old school leather. I have an old school S&W leather holster for my J frames. It's tight. This thing looks great dude. Just one thing, make sure you don't put the gun in and out of the holster too much. It'll rub the beautiful finish off your gun. I want a nice leather shoulder rig that is lined with velvet to protect the finish. I found a guy at a local gun show that can make any kind of leather I want for any gun and they'll line it with velvet for me. I can't wait!
Thanks! I think it looks pretty great too. I try not to put any unnecessary holster wear on my revolvers but that’s just kind of part of it. You’ll have to do a video on that velvet lined holster when you get it.
*Hermoso 15*
As we say in France "le top du top" what a masterpiece
Muy bueno tu canal 👍
Thanks!
If you don't have a Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, it's worth the buy. 4th Ed is the current I believe. Has all kinds of cool info and it gives you history and serial number year ranges for each model.
Nice dude! I seen the 15, I juat realized it was your video. RUclips suggested some of them lol. I love the model 10! Very nice! Only have a 64 snub right now. Love old guns, but old guns with history, and especially family history are awesome!
If you give me the first 3 or 4 digits of the serial number, I can, give you an exact year. Glad you noticed the diamond grips are slightly darker. It's not just me lol.
Nice gun dude! Looks immaculate! I have a snub blued 15 like your's. The hammer I THINK is a little bigger. I didn't catch the hammer of the 22 but the 15 has what I call a semi-target hammer. It's not quite a target hammer and it's not as skinny as a standard hammer. Sucks there is duct tape on the box, but even the duct tape looks vintage! I haven't gotten there yet, but I'm curious about the auto you got back there!
My first duty-issued handgun in the 1980's was the S&W Model 15 Combat Masterpiece 4" barrel. It was an excellent revolver and was sad to see it go when we tranistioned to semi-autos.
I got a S&W 22Lr with a serial # of K201513. Looks similar to yours but has some kind of ivory handle grips, probably replacements for the original wood. Any idea on how to date these using the serial number? Also mine doesn't have a model 18-2, I'm pretty confused by the model number system. Mine says T26731, with a 7 below that when you open up the drum and look behind it. On the actual drum itself, and on the base of the handle I have the K201513 serial.
If you’re ever willing to part with it, I’ll take it! I’ve been looking for a clean one of these for a while. Name your price.
Haha I don’t plan on selling it but I’ll keep you in mind if I do.
What is the value of this 22
wow, that's an amazing piece. It looks like its been to the range maybe 5 times, if that, over all these years!
Beautiful gun bro. I want a set of those so, badly, but I'm most excited about my first one whenever that day may come. I want a nickel and blued RB's and a nickel and blued sb's. The first year run of these just said 38 special on the barrel. I've seen a couple for sale. They're pretty expensive.
Thanks man! The cool factor of the 1st issue square butt DS is off the charts, in my opinion. Good luck on your hunt for one.
