Working with Camera to Cloud with FUJIFILM cameras and frame.io. Can you see yourself using such a workflow in production?
This is amazing. Nice to see Victor and his team in this video. Greetings from Mexico City!
Glad you enjoyed it!
So good to finally share a behind the scenes look at our trade show efforts!!
Was it the first time?? Man I'm glad I stayed for it because that was very fun, you guys are fun!
Yes! That ending was fun.
I haven't had my mind blown in a VERY long time. I was SHOCKED at how amazing the tech is. And I haven't fully jumped in. Fujifilm. CRUSHED this tech MAJORLY.
Yeah right? We think so too, quite disruptive once productions start implementing it in the right way.
Nice work guys. Tnx to bring us the near future. i hope that estimulating other brands. Kisses from Brasil to all
Ich wusste nicht, dass ihr aus Österreich kommt. Wieder was gelernt ;)
because it doesn't matter, we're everywhere 😉
Glad I stayed for the BTS. That was entertaining! Also that music was 👌 woke me up with my morning coffee grooving. Now I want to work out. Haha! Cheers to the editor/s
Ha, thank you!
so funny at the end....please do more of those in the future. in the advertising world it is commonly well know that great humor sells the best...
Thank you! You're right... we'll do a lot more like this in the future
Can't wait to use camera to cloud, and colors look great too. What was the color pipeline?
Hey stalman. FUJIFILM ETERNA with some minor adjustments. Thank you!
That was great! I'm trying it out on my next big shoot.
Very cool, also on FUJIFILM cameras?
@@CineD Yes, an X-H2s and an X-H2. X-H2 with the xf 18-120 PZ is amazing for event and concert coverage with the 2X digital zoom.
Great video! You guys always do terrific work. The Video to Cloud is very interesting and it will be exciting to see where it goes in the future.
Thank you encoremultimedia3511. We appreciate the time you took to watch it!
Curious about the future with other brands like Canon, Panasonic and Sony. Will everyone be using FrameIO? Can we still combine that with Final Cut Pro and DaVinci Resolve in the near future? What about the local data plans for mobile connections. Limited or unlimited (here in the Netherlands not all have unlimited data) proxy files are smaller, but what happens with the larger files? Are they uploaded to the cloud somewhere when having a faster connection?
Hi GertKracht. Lots of good questions here! In a nutshell, Sony has their own solution (Creators' Cloud). Other companies might rely on Atomos to connect their cameras to frame.io. DaVinci Resolve already has a way to connect to frame.io. Not sure about FCP. In regards to data plans, this will have to be watched locally. And yes, the larger the files are, the more data is being consumed obviously. Thank you!
What's the Internet gadget used in the remote location to connect to Satellite?
Their statements are not clear about wifi disruptions. Does the file transfer resume at the same position after regaining connection, do we lose the file, or does the file transfer has to be dine again from zero?
More and more this is going to be tricky for post processors who live in expensive cities as a lot of post work will now just be farmed out to random but skilled workers living in cheaper parts of the world and able to massively compete on price. Still, that's not Fuji's fault and I would use this for weddings and not having to worry about transferring files. It's not that much of a saving though really. Or only makes sense professionally if someone else is doing your post work (which is an interesting idea - even just paying someone to live sift through your stills work and gets them to re-folder all in-focus shots.
On the flip side it could also be said that it democratizes editing to a degree. Good editors will soon be able to increase their rates even if they are working in less expensive cities or countries. There is really so much demand for content, and even the recession won't change this trend.
It seems clear that Wi-Fi is becoming an Achilles heel: either too many users are trying to connect to a single network that doesn't have enough bandwidth, or (as at the convention) too many networks are competing for a limited spectrum, or electrical interference makes connections unreliable, or heavily metallic surroundings absorb the signal (theater stages often have the latter two problems.) Regardless of the scenario, the result is that it just stops working and nothing much can be done. Of course vendors love Wi-Fi because the chipset is built into almost everything, no development investment is required, and there's no need to worry about region-specific frequency allocations, but I wonder how long it will be before critical users start demanding systems built around high-powered radios running on dedicated channels...
Critical systems already have their own frequency bands, but the rest is competing on narrower and narrower bands, because more and more devices are added ... only compression can save us, probably...
👍 great job
Thank you so much! We're big fans of you :-)
Excelente muy interesante 👏👏👏👏👏👏🎥🎥🎥saludos desde Sudamérica
Gracias!
Great Video as always.. but the tech is and was way too unreliable for events..
How's raw upload?
Hi errole. Actually seamless and fast. Very straightforward like with the video files we've uploaded. Thank you
Since they’re no longer making “film” and now, not even physical support, I guess it can be rebranded FujiCloud 🤭😅
Our "videos" are also not really in the cinema, do you want us to rebrand to "CloudD"? ;-)
So, not ready for primetime yet
We really think it is (after hardcore testing it) but a trade show is probably the worst case scenario for reliable wireless connections. If a reliable Wifi or 4G/5G signal is available, it's absolutely ready for primetime.
@@CineD Based on this video, I saw two testing environments, one where it failed and one where it succeeded; to me that's not really enough to say it's absolutely ready. I would at least need to see it work in a city environment, doesn't need to be a trade show floor, but also more than a desert with no one else around. To be clear though I think this tech is definitely the future and I appreciate you guys documenting the experience.
@@zak_ray Hey zak. Now that we know there is an interest in learning more, we will definitely take an even closer look at this workflow in different environment setups with FUJIFILM equipment or other companies who are offering similar solutions. Thank you! Johnnie
